Men are typically attracted to younger women, and as they age are financially stable which makes them more appealing to a younger lady. With the divorce rate what it is, and men going after younger women, it's left a lot of older women without partners. Younger men(which are at their sexual peak)have become keen to the fact that women do not reach their sexual peak till there mid thirties. Therefore these young men aren't forced to play all the games a twenty something girl would require to get what they want. Middle aged single/divorced women have simply decided that to fulfill their urges it's easier to "train" a puppy than to pursue a mature man that is likely more interested in her daughter.

Innerme, the best I can tell is you were 211lbs SW? You have a GW of 140 which will bring you to a BMI of 22.59. The unfortunate reality is, with 71lbs to lose, you simply are not going to see those massive numbers you've come accustom to reading from higher BMI patients. You are doing fine. Today marks 3weeks fron your surgury, and you've averaged over 2lb per week. I definitely understand your frustration, but as the 12 steppers say, "it works if you work it " Just keep following your diet, exercise, & try to keep a positive mindset.
I'm willing to bet money that at your nine month mark you will eithe be at goal or so close to it.

I will say this from a mans point of view, I love a woman with a big @$$. But, shape trumps size any day of the week, I'd much rather my woman have a smaller butt that is firm & round than a big one that is out of shape.
Don't get me wrong, a big, firm onion booty is a thing of beauty. But in reality, Beyonce & J-Lo are just unattainable.

My fathers wife had RNY and had a miserable recovery. I'm willing to bet she would "Go off" on any of her friends tha even mentioned wanting WLS.
As far as your friend that told you to do your research on the web, is there a possibility that she didn't want to feel like she steamed your decision.
Maybe she felt that she would feel responsible if something went wrong, and she had told you that she felt it wasa good idea.
I might be wrong, but I believe people are basicly good, they don't want to see others get hurt, they also don't want to feel like they contributed to a friends pain.

58lb/14weeks= 4.1lb per week. I'd say that's nothing to sneeze at.
Also, if I may, what was your starting BMI?

O.T.R. sleever reacted to Supersweetums in Lifejacket Nsv
I don't normally post NSV for myself, but I thought I would post this one today. Especially since I really struggle with recognizing myself and my weight loss and not seeing a fat person staring back at me in the mirror. Today helped me put in perspective that I really do see myself differently than the rest of the world.
I take my daughter to swimming lessons and have to be in the pool with her because she is not yet 3 years old and all the classes are parented. Today was life jacket day and I decided to put one one for my daughter as a good example. The first one I grabbed, the instructor said "Oh, I think that will be too big for you", so I grabbed another one and started to put it on, and she said to me in front of everyone else that I could probably even wear the size 2 life jackets (these are youth size life jackets!). I still wore the bigger one, but was shocked that someone thought I could wear something so small! The instructor is a young woman and I think she has a fabulous figure, and for her to look at me and suggest I need something smaller...I was blown away.

I'm the opposite. I didn't have one until i was heavier. Hoping it's just because I was older (you know what they say about the sex improving with age for women). I really, really hope that doesn't go away.

An occasional day of rest is required to let our bodies heal when we work out... and you're doing an amazing workout every day that you go without the chair! Don't take the rest days as setback. Instead use them as days to allow your muscles to heal and grow stronger. When we lift weights, we're supposed to give our bodies a day of rest in between. You ARE doing the same with forcing your legs to work...
I'm totally thrilled for you and proud of you! You're determined to reach your goal and I have faith that you will reach that goal.
I've figured out how you could do a ticker, too. You could either track "days out of the chair", using a 6 or 8 hour "day" and log each one as you complete it. OR you could track how many miles/feet you've walked and pick a destination. I believe Lil Miss (Stronger) Diva did that with her workouts. As she racked up miles she listed how much closer to a specific town she'd come. Maybe you should do something like football fields or the local mall that have specific distances. Even if you don't do a ticker, it's still a HUGE NSV. If you do, maybe it will be motivational for you on days you don't want to walk.
You're doing great! Keep up the good work!!

I guess it's time for me to get more hate mail.
First off, men are very visual, we are turned on by what we see. If you were thinner and in better shape and more confident when you met him, you can bet that he found that version of you attractive.
If as you gained weight, his affections dwindled, as did your confidence, well, the blunt reality is that his physical attraction likely decreased as your weight increased.
I know this sounds horrible, but it's a man thing, it's just the way we are. We can't fake a physical relationship.
The fact that he has stayed by you through all of this is testimony that he loves you. It's just the brutal reality of being a man, we can't pretend to be sexually attracted to someone.
So when he starts flirting with you more, maybe even gets a little jealous, take it as a compliment
We can say anything you want to hear, and believe me we know what you want to hear. But the way he treats you is is his real tribute to your success

O.T.R. sleever reacted to Sleeved and relieved! in 8 Months From Surgery And Just Joined!
    Hi all
Although I had my gastric sleeve 8 months ago I have to be honest and say that, whilst I have dipped in and out of weight loss forums both leading up to and after my op, I have not really been actively involved.
Now, I feel so passionate about my weight loss surgery and the results that I have already achieved that I thought why not share it with people who are either going through the same thing and feel as on top of the world as I do, or are maybe considering having the sleeve and want to talk to somebody who can give first hand experience (and because I have most likely run out of friends and family to bore with my elation now!!).
I can honestly say that there is nothing better I have ever done in life than have the sleeve! And I doubt that anything else will ever match the feeling of happiness that it brings (aside from having my kids of course, but thats a given!).
I have so far lost 92lbs and feel amazing!! I have about another 14lb to lose which just seems incredible since, all of my adult life I can never remember being less than at least 5st (70lbs) overweight - it just feels like a small mound to overcome now as opposed to the mountain that I was always faced with.
Life is fantastic!! - I cannot stress that enough!
I could go on (and on, and on) about how I feel but dont want to bore you all - just to say, im friendly and approachable and would be more than happy to speak to others about their journey, share ideas of just answer questions from those of you who have either decided to have the surgery or are still thinking about it.
    Bye for now
