  1. Have you been good for 4months? Yes? Go ahead and have a little something. Buy small, very small. Don't get enough to tempt you later.
  2. Vitamin Water zero & Sobe Life Water. Both are 0 carb/calorie. And they are naturally sweetened. No artificial sweeteners.
  3. I was kinda wondering the same thing. That guy is/ was me. Pffft. At least it could have been a more recent pic.
  4. It would be irresponsible for anybody to advise you to progress any faster than your prescribed diet allows. What I will say is I advanced myself early and have experienced no problems.
  5. TSA was worse than the international border. I've gotta say it shouldn't be too big of a deal though. Everything I had fit in my carry on.
  6. Check this out. It was my first post to this forum. 4months ago I had the same fears you do. Now here I am 84lbs lighter & still losing. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/40235-is-this-too-easy/
  7. I can't even try to pretend that it it would be worse being thin before. I've never been "skinny" but I was very healthy in my younger years, obsessivly so. I trained with the varsity wrestling team while I was still in middle school, was involved in competitive body sculpting, etc. Where it really hurts me is looking how fat I got. I ask myself "How in the hell could you let that happen?". I knew the whole time what I was doing & kept saying I'll take he time next year to fix it. It does make it easier for me to see me making my goal, and makes me believe I can have a great body again, but the disgust I felt toward myself was crippling.
  8. I lurk a lot. I see everything. Including this topic a few times.
  9. This is really not an uncommon concern or occurrence. It's not a problem. Dr will ask you to use pads rather than tampons.
  10. Is this the stuff? If yes, then you are golden. I really like seeing "Whey Protein Isolate" right up top. And no mention of garbage like collagen or Gelatin. Do keep in mind that 52g is more than your body can use at a time though. Stick to the single scoop servings. 26grams is about the max you can absorb at one time.
  11. Yeah, it's basically 0.5g per lb of body weight. But the calculation doesn't work too well for high BMI people.
  12. Thanks everybody. BTW. I just added a pic to the original post that was taken at the hospital.
  13. mactal.bmp Unfortunately this is all I have in my phone pre-op. 4 months later.
  14. We've all been afraid we were going to be the 1 person that failed at this. We've tried so many times before that we have pretty much prepared ourselves for failure before we even start. Guess what look around, there are no failures around here. Yes, many of us have slow starts & get discouraged, some of us go off track and lose control for a while, but bottom line, once you have the tool in your box, and you've acquired the knowledge of how to use it properly, slipping doesn't become a catastrophic event, it's more like a skinned knee. You just gotta remember to get back up and keep going. Here's a link to my first post here. I was afraid I was going to fail too. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/40235-is-this-too-easy/ I also have to add since looking back at my original post, I don't advocate that you cheat like I did. I was anxious to get back to work quickly, so I progressed through my diet much quicker than I should have. But once again, I didn't do it right in the beginning, but that also didn't cause me to fail either.
  15. Lots of whey protein shakes, you'll be fine. It's not uncommon to lose some muscle in the first few weeks, but your muscles do have a memory and will rebuild relatively easily.
  16. What type of phone do you have? If it is a smartphone then you should be able to turn off international roaming. Make sure you do this, because international roaming rates ar astronomical. 1email can cost you $15, and your phone uses data every few minutes to check for emails. And toe, you will be charged for incoming text messages. So I will say again turn your international roaming off. Download google talk, or talkatone, or Skype and use them on wifi. Also you might get an American tower depending on where exactly you are.
  17. Chia seeds are a great natural stool softener.
  18. Both my dads wife & my wife's dads wife have had RNY. They both had miserable recoveries. Also they both have to take supplements the rest of their lives, & have limited diets. These were the things I saw that convinced me that RNY was not for me. Also through research I've found that VSG is the only procedure that eliminates/reduces ghrelin. Also VSG is much less invasive. Not to mention the sleeve is nearly impossible to stretch, whereas RNY pouches more often than not do get stretched Of course I am bias.
  19. Do I measure everything? Well, starting off, yes I did. When you measure & journal your food you have a much better understanding of what you are doing & you control it better. I'm not nearly as religious as I was about it starting off, as I became more familiar with wat I was doing I started estimating more, but it's still close.
  20. If the whey based drinks taste bad to you try hemp. It's a great Protein. This is one of my faves: 4-6oz mango purée (Bolthouse or Naked) 40g Hemp Protein powder (Nutiva 15g or Nutiva 50%) 3oz Water (I prefer this as crushed ice) This will deliver 20g protein & it tastes good too. Its a bit higher in calories than I prefer but not so much that it ruins my diet. I discovered that mango pure will make almost anything tolerable while I was looking for something to mix with KyoGreen. If you've ever had that stuff you'll completely understand.
