Whoa!!! I think your posts should keep coming! Screw the negativity of others! They can choose to overlook it! Since we are all here for the help and support of each other I thought I may share a book that ive been reading about suplementing our craving with food for our craving for GOD!!!

After surgery, it seemed to me that the blinders were lifted and I saw myself like others might. This was after over 30lb loss, but my head wasn't in the positive mindset. I was sad and mad at myself and all I could see was the bad.
I then put together a collage of progress pictures and was able to SEE the positive changes and let myself be happy with me. I'm a work in progress and some days may be better than others, but you have to love yourself first and foremost.

I am not trying to get around instructions that I was given. I know you do not know me, so it's easy to make a quick assumption about me. I'm very strict on the lap band rules that my Dr gave me. I did the liquid diet for 5 weeks, never cheated even once (not even a bite!), healthy low fat soft foods suggested by my Dr for the past week and a half. I'm three weeks post op and down 26 pounds, so clearly things are working well for me. This was just a thought I had while eating my purred chicken salad, and then finding a peice of chicken that was not purred compeletely and realizing that the consistency of it being chewed was the same as the rest of my chicken salad that is purred.
I've never once heard that chewing causes the band to move, I also can't find anything on the subject when I research this. We're still supposed to chew the purred food and soft food thourougly, so I'm not chewing any more than I would if it were purred.
I do appreciate the input though! Just wanted to give you a view into my world so you can erase the assumption that I'm looking for cheats or an easy way out.

FYI- 90% of new banders CAN eat anything they want, however successful bansters make smart choices and DON'T eat anything they want. Also-I have been in the green zone for several months now and I also CAN eat all foods, I just choose not to because I want my weight to stay off!!! Good luck and don't depend on the band to do ALL the work. Unfortunately that's not how it works for most of us.

Me too! Looks like July 10th for me! I am starting to really get excited! A little nervous for the 2 week pre-op diet. Don't know if I will be able to handle it! After all that's why I need the Lapband!

I live in Houston, Tx. I am from Corpus Christi, Texas, but I have been in Houston for 16 years.
My surgery is July 19. TWENTY TWO DAYS AWAY!!!
What excites me most? Um...being thinner (err...healthier), being able to have relations with the lights on (maybe), breaking up with Lane Bryant, not hearing that damned but you have such a pretty face bs anymore.
What scares me the most? Other than that I will die during surgery, um, I am pretty scared of not being able to eat tortillas again. I live in Texas for crying out loud - they are a staple.

I think we need to make the July group the best group ever. Anyone up for a get to know you poll?

I just found an awesome idea I wanted to share....
Making a workout jar. Get a change jar or use your cookie jar since it won't be full of Cookies anymore!!! Each day you work out put a dollar in the jar, then when you reach a goal you have a little money to get a new shirt or something little for yourself for all your hard work!!!

Heading to the hospital now!! I am doing good! Not so nervous! My only complaint is having a dry mouth. I want y'all to know how wonderful it is to come here and get the overwhelming and continued support! Bless y'alls hearts! Excited to read about y'alls surgery! I'll give an update this afternoon.
