I am right here with you!! It's so hard!!! Carbs!!!! Blah!!! Its sucks and the headaches are absolutely miserable!! How are you coping?

I am here with you!!! I am SO NOT perfect! I am on a 30 day pre op diet!!! IT SUCKS! I am frustrated. It seems that I slip up easily!! The other day was the biggest..... I had a torilla, it was small 5 inches. BLAH!!! Today I had a bite of Pirate Booty, that my daughter was having and coffee!!! What gives? Isn't this like asking a cocaine addict not to use, when its sitting in the cabinet? Hard to give up food when its in the kitchen!!! Right?

Hello, I am an Oregonian and I have done ample research for our area. I researched OHSU, and was not too impressed- but have tons of information. I have the binder of information you get when you become a patient and attended the information session. Next was Legacy Good Samaritan, with Dr. Halpin. In this office I did my 6 month medically supervised weight loss (per my insurance company) and got all my pre op work done. I have worked with the nuts, pt, and psychologist in the office. I have also had a consult with Dr. Halpin she claims to have done 50-100 sleeves. My surgery date was Nov 13th, but changed my mind about Dr. Halpin for two reasons. 1. my gut told to go with my surgeon of choice (Dr. Patterson). 2. After talking to my PCP whom I have been with for 15 years my mind was made up. My PCP pretty much said if you have the chance go to Dr. Patterson, she is the bariactric guru and well known around the world for her work and training. So, last minute I cancelled my November 13th surgery and changed to Dr. Patterson. I have met her and feel VERY confident. Dr. Patterson has her own practice called Oregon Weightloss Surgery (OWLS). She has done 3,000 (no that's not a typo) bariatric procedures. So, I have met and have an idea of what Dr. Halpin and Dr. Patterson are like. If you want more specific details I would love to chat. Hello, My surgeon does not give blood thinners unless you have a history of clots. She (surgeon) says the risks of taking a medication we don't need out weigh the benefits. The best defense is walking and she said if I have to sit for a long period of time take aspirin and get up every two hours. I don't know if this helps, but it's one angle. I fear clots too. So I am going to walk my rear off!!!!
