    CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

I'm 2 weeks and 1 day post op. I had band to sleeve revision. Up until about 3 days ago I felt like I was on track. I was feeling a little better every day. Then out of no where I'm hit with the worst nausea I've ever had. I was allowed to start mushies yesterday but the thought of any food whatsoever makes me want to vomit. I'm to the point now, where drinks even make me gag. Nothing helps. I've tried phenergen, sour candy, ginger candy, lemonade and nothing touches it. Has anyone else experienced this at the 2 week mark? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

I Dont Need To Be Criticized

Hang in there! We're all in the same boat. You're in the right place for support. You made a mistake, all you can do is move forward. Wipe your tears, take a good look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself "I CAN do this, I WILL do this". It gets easier, I promise!

    Hit A Goal Today!

Just wanted to share this. My surgery was 6/26/12. My progress has been slow but steady. I have set small goals for myself and I hit one today. I have lost 40 pounds exactly!!!! My preop weight was 362, and I'm 322 today! It's moments like this that push me to conquer my next set of goals. My next goal weight is 312 for 50 pounds lost, then 299 to put me under 300. I can't remember the last time I was under 300 pounds and now that is within my reach! I'm so happy I could cry!

    Dropping Sizes

Just curious, what is the average number of pounds lost that have taken you down a size? My Internet searches are saying about 10-20 pounds lost is a size lost. I'm down 37 pounds so far, but haven't really dropped a size yet. My clothes are feeling more loose so I know I'm close to the next size down, just not there yet.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

Hi all! I had my surgery June 26 and my first fill (5cc's) on August 6. I'm down 27 pounds and I'm pretty happy about it! I got a little careless before my fill, as I had no restriction and could eat pretty much anything. I have some restriction now and I'm trying harder to stay strict with what I'm eating. How are all you other June bandsters doing?

    Emotional

I definitely went though that! I thought for sure that I was the only one, but I did what you did and posted here. This forum is amazing! I had my surgery on 6/26 and it was about day 4 that it hit me like a ton of bricks. My issue was me coming to terms that I have a food addiction and it hit me that I was saying goodbye to that part of my life. You're doing the best thing though, you're talking about it with people who understand. You don't have to go through it alone, we're all in this together. Posting and reading here helped me the most, and I'm also reading a few books about food addiction. I'm still sad, but the support here tells me I CAN do this, and so can YOU! Shed your tears if you need to, this is tough, but don't give up, and take comfort that we are all here for each other.

    Emotional Regret

Oh goodness, this site is amazing. I was ready to put myself to bed, sad and defeated, but you guys have made me smile. At least now I know I'm not alone and certainly not crazy for feeling the way I feel. I'm now going to be able to go to bed and say that I'm putting this day behind me and start fresh tomorrow. I feel like I've gotten a HUGE hug! I'm so happy to know I'm not alone.
  8. Anyone else go through emotional regret? The pain part isn't getting to me, but the emotions of it all is. I love food, obviously, or I wouldn't be in the shape I'm in now. My entire household is extremely supportive, I couldn't ask for a better support team. But they didn't have this surgery, I did. They still have to go on with life and eat food. I'm so burnt out on protein shakes and liquid everything that it makes me nauseated to even think about drinking. I go back and forth from trying to encourage myself to keep on, to wondering what in the hell have I done! Don't get me wrong, I want this more than anything, but I'm trying to figure out how to say goodbye to the relationship I used to have with food. Maybe I'm rambling, and maybe none of you relate to this, but I had to get this out somewhere.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I'm on day 3 also jdmart7. My gas is better today, but my port soreness is definitely worse. The abdominal binder that the hospital gave me really helps though. I haven't been hungry at all until today and like you I've gained a couple pounds. Strange. I'm just trying to get myself through this knowing that this is only a few days for a healthier life. We're getting there!

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I'm banded!!!!! My surgery went really well. It was scheduled for 2pm, and was told to arrive at the hospital at noon. I got there at about 11:50 and there was a very short wait. I was taken back and weighed, and I had lost 15 pounds on my 10 day liquid diet! I was put in a gown, gave a urine sample had blood drawn and was ready for my surgery to happen. Then they told me that my surgeon was slightly delayed from his previous surgery but to just hang tight. He ended up coming in to talk to me at about 2:30 and I was wheeled into the OR at about 2:45-3. The only thing I remember was being given an oxygen mask and then I was in the recovery room. I asked the nurse if we would be starting soon. She laughed and told me that they were done and I had already been in recovery for 30 minutes. At that point I recall feeling some pressure in my chest and the need to cough. The nurses sat me up so I was able to cough better. She asked me if I was planning to be an inpatient or an outpatient. I told her I preferred to go home. She checked with my surgeon who said that if I could drink a cup of Water and keep it down, and felt good enough to leave then he would clear it. They gave me a cup of ice water to sip, and felt soooooo good on my very very dry mouth. I did end up keeping it down, so they cleared me go home. I got home last night at around 7:30. I'm feeling pretty good overall. sleep was a bit uncomfortable but I managed. I don't seem to have much gas because of all the suggestions here for the gas x strips, those are amazing! Thank you all for that! As of now the only pain I'm having is just some tenderness in my port area and my very dry throat. I've been able to keep down water, a Protein shake and some broth. I'm going to try to purée some Soup in a bit and see how well that does. Overall this has been an amazing experience so far!

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I see a lot of people talking about what to have on hand after you get home from the hospital and that's incredibly helpful! There are several things I wouldn't have thought of. I was also wondering, for those of you who stayed overnight at the hospital, did you wear the hospital gown or did you bring something of your own? If you brought something, what did you bring? Also for everyone who's had surgery, what did you wear for your ride home? I'm trying to determine what I should bring with me.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

OK, I'm a nervous wreck today! I'm heading to a vascular surgeon in a couple of hours to have a vena cava filter put in. My family has a history of blood clots and they seem to think this is the best route for me to go. My Lapband surgery is next Tuesday and I'm more nervous about today than that! I'm not sure if it's because this is happening now and my surgery is still a few days away, or if it's because they are putting this thing into a main artery. I'm trying my hardest to keep calm and breathe but my stomach is doing somersaults! Has anyone else had this done?
  14. GNC has an unflavored one. I'm not sure how it tastes in Crystal Light, but it's ok in chicken broth. Not great, but ok.
