Anyone Sleeved On July 11 How Are You Doing And What Are You Eating Different Now That We Are One Week Post Op
I had my surgery on the 11th. I feel pretty good. I was actually surprised at how minimal over all the pain really was. Don't get me wrong the first 2 days are not one you write home to mom about! It was all gas pains....But over all it has not been excruciating! I did not have any nausea, my incision pain is very minimal. Itching. My battle is craving food in the last 3 days. I advance to full liquids tomorrow for a week and then purée for 4 weeks. It amazes me the difference in diet for each Dr. Over all I'm very happy and ready for the next chapter in our lives!!! I haven't weighed yet I got to post-op appt in morning!

July 11. Surgery Day Is Here.
Surgery went well yesterday, Recovery is ok. It's such a learning curve! Most important lesson learned is do not go a long time without pain meds. OMG. That was horrible. My other advise is walk sip walk sip and keep on. I'm heade home in a few min. Letting Dallas traffic simmer down. Good luck and best wishes everyone. We are Blessed beyond measure!!!

Camelback Bottles?
I know every Dr. Is different, my Dr and Nut stated it was ok to use a straw. Especially when those wonderful protein drinks do not smell as well as they should postop. It's easier to get the protein in with a lid and straw.

Surgey In 5 Days :-0
Oh my ,I feel the same way Phillygirl. I know this is what I want, but I have so many worries. Why do we do this to ourselves? Is it because we always put everyone first and we don't know how to handle the fact that we are actually doing something (elective so to speak) for ourselves??? I honestly think that is some of my guilt. I feel I'm taking part of my boys summer away and my husband is using his vacation time on me, not as a family! Then there's this fear of leaving my kids behind if something went wrong. My youngest (8) has Severe separation anxiety since our grandmother died. (we were very close, He thought/thinks I'm going to die with her) I also know 2 ppl first hand who have life debilitating complications from gastric bypass, and a person who passed away from lapband. I can't help but have that linger in my head at all times. I also know A lot of people that have had successful sleeve and bypass. it's a mind game! I can say for myself, I have believe in my head/heart this is the best thing for myself and Give it to God!
