  4. that was what I was most scared of I just finished my appt with my nutritionist and I have to have 3 shakes and one low fat low carb high protein meal a day. 7. When I went to the nutritionist 1st I filled a sheet about me and my eating habits brought in a 4 dayfood track so she could see what I normally eat then she sat down to go over the track then you have a conference about what to expect as far foods in each stage of the process( pre- op, post- op day 1 etc)it was very informative I liked meeting people In town that are preparing for surgery( we don't have a local support Grp )I left with a huge packet to help me through that's where I found out that there were several other Psych Dr that would give me an earlier appt than 18Jul
  8. no I haven't been approved my nutrition class was okay I learned a lot I was relieved that my pre-op diet allows me to have one meal a day so i am researching Protein shakes this weekend I want to find one that I like since that will be a large part of my meals the first few weeks after surgery. I changed my Psych exam to an earlier date so if my Insurance approves quickly I might even have it done in July we shall see
  9. Remember this journey is for YOU I know you want a partner but won't it be great to sit on the sideline and see first hand what you need to do. She is paving the way for you so you won't be scared becuase you will know exactly what to expect in every stage....... But ultimately this is for you for your health for your improved life Good Luck and know we are here for you

  11. It is a low fat low carb high protein diet some Dr put you on the shrinks our fatty livers to prepare for surgery your liver hangs over the area that the surgeon puts the band on so he needs it small & as healthy as can be

  13. I had my nutrition appointment it went well found out my pre-op is three protein shakes a day and a low fat no carb high protein meal a day(800-1200 calories Max) I am releived I was afraid of the only protein shakes and liquid diet. I just have my psych Appt left its scheduled. For 18Jul but j think I'm. Going to see if someone else. Might be available sooner I'm still excited although I don't think my nutritionist is "Pro bariatric surgery" she just kept mention the Neg aspects thankfully I have you guys so I know everything " the good the bad the ugly(sliming .....gross)" thanks everyone

  17. At walmart they have sugar free Italian ice they are wonderful and you crunch them up into a slush or you scoop them out with a spoon for the added crunch I started eating them years ago to control my diabetes I love them good luck
  18. Congrat everyone I am so happy for you & a little jealous good luck
  19. I was wondering what the difference was so collagen is not the best but isolated protein. good to know thanks
  20. I haven't had my surgery yet but I know I have a very weak stomach I have been trying different protien shakes but I haven't like any of the high protien ct shakes so I was thinkIng I can supplement with the shots I can gulp it down and it will stay but if I try to drink the shakes. I know it won't. so i'm just planning ahead. I didn't like the crystal light suggestion either it was in a review. I think I would just like to gulp it down I know if you don't get enough your hair will thin. Is the bullet made by the same company ? I'm going to look it up
  21. Question??? they have whey protein shots(made by body Fortress). It has 26g protien per serving they come in fruit punch flavor you down them like a shots(2oz) or you can mix them with your crystal light or whatever . the reviews say they don't taste the greatest but they aren't gross either. They come in little viles that you can keep with you( kind of like the 5hr energy bottles but they are just protein packs) I thought that was a lot of protien and pretty easy to keep with you everyday after you have surgery. I saw a lot of people were having a few problems geting all thier protien in while they are healing. Has anyone tried them before? if so what did you think ?
  22. Hang in there you are sliding into home base...I want to do like you TXgirl1 and start slowly with the protien shakes and by the time I am on the pre-op diet I will be use to the protien shakes and maybe it will feel more like normal(hopefully at least) I am praying my DR is merciful enough to have me do the shakes for beakfast and lunch and a low carb/ low fat meal for dinner) instead of only protein shakes all day
  23. I hope you are feeling better soon
  24. Congrats to you both keep up the good work
