You know, I was wondering the same thing for the past 2 days...I got out the hospital on 7/20 & I declare I'm always hot! I figured it was just my body going through so much & trying to heal.

get my drain out thursday *doing the happy dance* whoot whoot!!! also...i'm on full liquids...i'm not a Soup eater and especially not the cream of xxxx Soups. so i've been drinking more than eating but then last night it came to me...NINJA + Panera Bread Soup = FULL LIQUID!!!! yes, i've thought about the fat and other non allowable ingredients but i have to have something i can stomach and the cream of xxxx was not working...i just can't stand the taste/consistency. i got 3 soups for $15.xx i was not happy paying that but its worth the taste. i have them all in my 2 oz. Jello shot containers (easy/clean) so i will have 3-4 oz of potato tonight and will let you all know how it goes. wish me luck! how are you guys handling the full liquid diet? how is the weight lose coming? here are my numbers so far.... 213 - 7/20 home from hospital 207 (-6) - 7/21 204 (-3) - 7/22 201 (-3) - 7/23 would love more but i'm ok with that.

Try walking...its hard to believe how much better you feel & faster you heal!

Glad you're doing better! are you sure it's not head hunger? sometimes its hard to tell the difference. as of right now i have not hunger but occasionally have a desire. my incisions are healing well however i do have occasional discomfort and itching where the drain is. keep up the good work!

full liquid stage 2...i came home on cream of wheat. clear liquid then full liquid just make sure it runny and you'll be just fine! i heart cream of wheat! that's what the hospital served me for Breakfast my last day there. yum yum good!

i hope everyone is doing well. i'm doing good! came home friday afternoon on a stage 2 diet. had burped, passed gas & a couple BM while in the hospital. felt sick with the catheter in but once it was removed i was fine. i literally felt like i had been hit by an 18 wheeler! i was soooo drained! but as of (saturday) this morning i feel my energy level going up! i've got some Protein in today but will concentrate more on that tomorrow going forward. my concentration has been on hydration...so far so good! i'm not sure if it is ok to start taking vitamins/calciums chews/etc yet. i'm on no pain meds or gas strips...just God! i have a little discomfort where my drain comes out but with a little adjustment it subsides. oh yeah took my 1st shower this morning....BY MY SELF! i've been doing minimal walking, this will also be my focus starting tomorrow. again i hope and pray that every is having a speedy recovery. keep in mind...LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! sending warms wishes to all!

I'M DOING GREAT!!! SURGEON AND HOSPITAL STAFF WERE VERY SURPRISED AND PROUD OF MY PROGRESS!! and seeing that i've always had problems with my digestive system i'm the most shocked of all!!!! Surgery was wednesday 7/18 at 3:30pm, was in my room by 8:30, was sucking on ice chips (craving - btw i hate ice!) by 10:30 i was having small burps = GOOD SIGN my digestive system was working just fine....NO NAUSEA, VOMITTING, HEARTBURN, NO GAS! thursday morning i had ice chips again (still small burps), that afternoon i did the leak test (GROSS) and they said everything looked great! thursday after they started me on Clear Liquids (jell-o, beef broth, juice, iced water)...NO NAUSEA, VOMITTING, HEARTBURN, NO GAS. my only clear liquid meal was dinner! i passed gas thursday night...i was so happy. friday morning passed more gas and had my first BM - very small. my surgeon came to tell me how great i was doing and i told him he did an excellent job and how i had read horror stories and how i was so shocked as how well i was doing. he said this is how it is supposed to be and gave me a high five! he's soooo cool and down to earth. by the way he came to see me EVERY but i didn't see him on thursday because they kept me down in testing too long but he told me he had stopped by 2 times! #LOVEHIM oh the rest of the team came by every day too! ok so friday morning i had a little gas but used my heating pad took a nap and was shortly after...he started me on stage two (breakfast - cream of wheat, jell-o, juice, iced water)...NO NAUSEA, VOMITTING, HEARTBURN, NO GAS. (lunch - tomato Soup, jell-o, juice, iced water)...AGAIN NO ISSUES...I WAS DISCHARGED FRIDAY RIGHT AFTER LUNCH!!!!! to describe the feeling...not a lot of pain but DRAINED...felt like i had been hit by an 18 wheeler...SERIOUSLY! right after my naps i would have like 5 minutes of energy and then i'm drained again. i felt SICK while i had the catheter in but once it was removed i was totally fine...again just drained. i really didn't want to talk/text/type/nothing. here i am at 4:27am saturday morning full of energy! sipping on iced Water and Isopure (GROSS) i certainly hope everyone else is doing ok. just wanted to check in.

my doc dont require liquid diet or anything...just nothing to eat/drink after midnight tonight. i'm going to drink 2 glasses of Water at 11:30pm tonight (suggested by the pre-test nurse) because my veins like to hide from needles. The funny thing...i don't mind being stuck...lol sometimes i encourage the nurse to try again. the last surgery i had the anesthesiologist had to place my IV in my neck...yep, turned the bed upside down and in the neck it went...thank God it was outpatient...honestly this is the only thing i'm concerned about. weird. lol for all worried about liver not shranking, DON'T!!! if you've put in SOME effort during the pre-op stage your doc will notice. a slip up here and there is not the end of the world...keep pushing and don't let it discourage you. heck if we had control like that we would be SO EXCITED ABOUT SURGERY TOMORROW!!!! we are going to do great and look fab!!!! I'm going to be thinking about everyone and saying a special prayer for all my sleeve buddies!!! Best wishes!!!

@juicy ~ everything happens for a reason...count it as a blessing and keep it moving. its funny on my way home from work today i said a prayer for God to look over me and my surgeon....baaahahahaha is that crazy or what? but anything could happen and that's the thought that went through my mind...something could happen to him...lol crazy but true. @hm734 ~ don't be nervous...we're all praying for one another...this is a great support group!

glad to hear that! good for you. i know it is a struggle because most of it is a mind thing but you're doing great so keep up the good work. i'm sure i'll be bugging you here pretty soon cuz i'll be going through the emotional ride. lol

i started gathering things last night and will pack tonight but i'm still not feeling what i was expecting to feel. i hope i'm so busy with house chore and last minute errands that i dont have time to think about food. if i get hungry i plan to go for a long walk...that takes always crave my appetite...lol thank you and good luck to you as well. welp guys...my time is almost here! i'm super excited! not nervous yet. i have this calmness about me for some reason. i check in to BJC South at 12:30 Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

ANOTHER JULY 18TH-ER HERE!!!! my nerves have not kicked in yet...not sure why...maybe it's all surreal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm going to pack my bag tonight...i will pack very light. I glad it is finally here...seem like it took forever! I'm glad they day is finally here! I made homemade chicken broth and pureed chicken breast this past weekend. i have to run to wally world after work today for a couple more items and I'M READY!!!!! I am somewhat concerned because my surgery isn't until 2:30pm, check in time is 12:30pm...i can't eat after midnight....YIKES!!!!! that's a long time! hopefully the excitement/nervous/somehting will take away my appetite. lol

I've got 10 days too...super excited! not nervous yet...i'm sure it's coming. talk about getting ready i have to touch up my newly painted bedroom, put my new bed together, get my tv mounted, rearrange other furniture, etc. but i'm going to be READY!!!! Good luck everyone!!!

yes! dr. varela...have you met him? he's way cool! i thought he was foreign just from the name but from what i can tell he's american. yes mine is at wash u and i work there as well. i was a little discouraged with the process they have in place but time flew by. i love angela britt, she's an angel. have you gone to any pre-op meetings? 1 is required but i've been to 2. i visit their facebook page sometimes but its pretty dead on there...not a lot of activity, not sure why. when did you start the process? i started in march. sorry if i'm all over the place....multi-tasking lol nice to meet you!

ok, now i'm stressing. i take celebrex daily and my surgery is coming up on 7/18/12...my doc/nurse have not said anything about it. ?? i'm going to have to ask. i was told which meds to stop before surgery but celebrex was never mentioned. i don't know what i'm going to do, keeps my neck/shoulder in check and keep my migraine as bay. here is one tip...stay away from grain...grain bring pain, also i've read briggs vinegar cider was good for joint points but did nothing for me. good luck all! please keep us posted.

I didn't spend a lot of time with him but he was soooo personable and down to earth! i liked him better than tami. LOL my date is 7/18/12! i'm excited but not nervous yet but i know its coming because i don't have long. what part of the process are you at? i've searched for some people in STL but i think i only found 1. welcome, you can find some much great information on his site! best wishes!

checking in to CHIKE ont he board!!!! THE BEST! taste like a real shake! just came out with a iced coffee it is delish as well. my favs = bananas, orange-cream & iced coffee however strawberry, chocolate & vanilla are great too! i've tried many and none can touch Chike! it has to be ordered though. i have read a lot of good reviews of premier so i have some to try after surgery. If you're a coffee lover, CLICK makes a mocha and vanilla latte but taste too much like coffee for me. I'm not a huge coffee drinker. best of luck!
