  1. I had my sleeve the day after Memorial Day. I think it was May 28th, 2012. Anyway, I have lost quite a bit, but NONE over the last TWO MONTHS. I am stuck at 198/199 depending on the scales mood...LOL! I don't drink sweetened drinks, and really don't eat a lot. Sure puts into perspective how much I was overeating before surgery. Has anyone else hit a plateau that lasted THIS long, and how do I fix it? I REALLY do NOT want to go back on just shakes. That **** sucked! Thanks for your thoughts and ideas, and I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year! (I would like to lose about 50 more #'s....)

    Touchy Subject

i HAVE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS. mY DOCTOR SAID TO TAKE mILK OF mAGNESIA EVERY FOUR HOURS UNTIL i HAVE RELIEF. hE ALSO SAID TO START ON A FIBER SUPPLEMENT SUCH AS bENEFIBER. sTUPID CAPS LOCK, BUT i AM NOT RETYPING THIS....lol!
  3. Actually, I am two weeks and 5 days. My husband and I just painted our living room Friday, which is pretty huge by my standards due to high ceilings. Worked for upwards of ten hours! Gained two pounds that night! Yesterday, I did kinda graze a bit, as I was exhausted, and my family was scattered about doing their own things. I gained ANOTHER pound! Please explain HOW I can be gaining when I still am not eating verty much at ALL! And yes, I am on solids, and I am trying to make sure it is low carb, as in mostly meat and cheese.

Day 9 Of Post Op :) Or :(

Well, I have been on puree since last Friday, and I have been "pureeing" my food by chewing it to death. Well, I am sitting here in SO MUCH PAIN that I am going back to protein drinks tomorrow. It isn't worth the pain. I barely ate anything. Maybe 3 ounces. My problem is I eat too fast. I am supposed to eat baby bites, and wait a minute between bites. I haven't mastered this, and I just ain't willing to go through this again. Flavor is good, but not like this. LESSON LEARNED BODY!
  5. My stall started at a little LESS than two weeks. I tend to lose fairly fast, so I guess it is OK that my stall started sooner too. I think some of the stall is that we begin incorporating puree. Our bodies have literally been starved to shrink our giant fat folk livers. My philosophy is that our bodies think they have hit the food lottery when we first add in puree. After a few days/weeks it should realize oops, still wanting/needing more to stay this size, and we drop again. I'll let you know how my theory works out. LOL!

    Day 4 Post Op

THAT is the STRICTEST post-op diet I have heard. Yuck!
  7. I have a pain under my right incision, second from the right to be exact. I was fine, then all of the sudden it started hurting. I have been doing pretty much everything I want to, but I think I might have injured myself bending over to pick up after my son. Now, when ever I move, stand up, turn, sit....just move, it has a sharp stinging feeling. It burns and stings! Any ideas what I have done? Do I need to contact my doctor?

    Too Big For Surgery?

Just read another that said 30-55 BMI. Try the pre-op diet for a month, and you might be able to get to that 55 BMI! Good Luck!!!!!

    Too Big For Surgery?

What about Gastric Bypass? From what I read, it seems that sleeving is most appropriate for folks between 35 and 50 BMI. You want surgery, but more than that you want to be safe and LIVE. These protocols are in place for your safety. Check with some other doctors, and see if a different surgery might be more appropriate for you at this time. Just a thought......

    Day 4 Post Op

I have been doing protein shakes since day 3 after surgery. How are you doing? Days 4 and 5 were ROUGH for me. Day six was much better. I just want some energy back. I hope it comes about when I get to add pureed foods. Never thought I'd look forward to pureed food, but I already have my refried beans, salsa, and sour cream sitting in the kitchen awaiting me! Call your surgeon's office if you have any questions. They were WELL PAID to offer up any help we need. Hugs!

Yikes! Yet Another Reason To Lose Weight

LOL! I know it is wrong to laugh at this, but geeze! I actually needed a laugh today!
  13. Everything tastes so bad! I can't explain the taste, but it is maybe acidic. Even water tastes weird/bad. Banana popsicles are all I can tolerate w/o getting sick. Is this a forever side effect, or an effect while you are healing?
  14. Don't get too excited. I seriously doubt your belly is going to feel like being slept upon! I am still a bit sore.
