thanks everyone for your replies, Im so glad this isnt the norm. I hate vomiting, I guess everyone does, but I couldnt think of anything worse than constantly vomiting, especially if it came up that quickly that you couldnt reach the bathroom in time. It would impact greatly on normal day to day living & would probably turn me off the surgery. I hope she gets some help.

Someone at work actually brought up the bullemia question also. Maybe she is worried about gaining the weight back? Im happy it is not the norm.

I was hoping this wasnt normal. I started to worry this is what happens but maybe people dont like to talk about it. Must just be my nerves starting to set in. I wonder if she is eating too much? or too fast?

Im an august sleever & personally only know 1 person who has been sleeved. I dont really know her that well, she is a work colleague. I know she has been sleeved for about 14 months. She seems to eat very little from what I see & also quite slow. She showed me her before photos & she now looks amazing. Now the grose part.. she seems to vomit lots through the day, she eats then goes straight to the bathroom & throws up, she often has to leave her desk to throw up. She often smells like vomit. Im sure sometimes she hasnt made it to the bathroom & has vomited in her bin. She told me alot of nights she has to change her bed sheets because she vomits without being able to get to the bathroom on time. Also alot of times when speaking she seems to choke on saliva, like she has too much, sometimes she dribbles while talking. Is this typical after being sleeved?? Like I said she is over 14 months out, I thought most of these type problems would be controlled by that amout of time?? Has anyone else heard of this? or experienced it? It is making me have second thoughts... I scared that i will vomit constantly & not be able to even make it to a bathroom... arrgghhh

I have done the same thing, I havent weighed myself because I dont want to know how much Ive put on, but since Ive had a date for surgery ive eaten like a horse, i hate the fact that im doing this to myself

Not trying to be overly vain here, but can any of u post sleevers answer for me... Does losing weight make u look older in the face, eg. wrinkles etc? I know a slimmer body will definetely give a younger look, but will my face age?? Im 43 and have always been told i look good for my age, is that because all my fat has plumped out my wrinkles? I know this is not all about looks but I just want as much info as possible on all aspects of surgery. thanx fellow sleevers

Great question... Im single with kids & have moved to a new State where I know nobody (except work mates - who I wont be telling) so am totally on my own with this. I was wondering the same thing. Im hoping I can look after myself after surgery with some help from my kids? Also I wanted to know how soon after surgery could I drive??

I cant wait to look in the mirror & like what I see. I can wait to feel healthy , happy & not think about being overweight all day every day. And I cant wait to run into the last two guys I dated, when I look thin & fabulous, who both dumped me because I was too fat.

this might be a dumb question... im pre-sleeve so trying to get what you guys are going through ... do you still feel like you want to eat these foods, pizza, icecream etc but cant due to the fact that you feel full?? or is it that your sleeve cant tolerate these foods at the moment??
