  1. Oh i'm still planning to have the surgery, that's why i'm doing the six month supervised diet so that my insurance will approve the surgery. It was just a nice thought. I'm only on day 2 and it's going to be a long six months..
  2. not to have the surgery? I started mine yesterday and I was just dreaming last night of how awesome it would be if I could actually make this a lifestyle change and avoid the surgery completely. I wondered if anyone else had done it.
  3. Good luck to you on Monday! It will be great to see your progress.
  4. I'm in the very early stages and only 4 people know. My Gynecologist, because I asked her opinion at my last appointment, two good friends of mine because I value their opinions and my husband. I'm not planning to tell anyone else, especially my mother. She has been very vocal as recent as 2 weeks ago what a bad idea WLS is, and frankly, I don't need the stress. If my insurance doesn't cover it and I end up going to Mexico, we are just going to tell her we are going on vacation, which is very common for us. If I end up having it an hour away from our house, we will hire someone else to watch our dogs. After the surgery and I start losing weight, i will take it on a person by person basis as to whether I tell them or not.
  5. So you do have to wait the six months? I have Wellmark of IA and when I had researched the surgery last year they had everything pretty marked out on their website. Now I can't find anything. I go to my seminar next week and i'm about 95% sure I want to have the surgery. Will I have to go on a supervised diet for the 6 months? I've been going to the gym for over a year and can get records from them.. will that suffice?
  6. I'm going to an information seminar next week at a Center that does Bariatric Surgeries. You are required to go to one of the seminar's to get the process started.. For those that have gone to similar, what should I expect?
