What about us buckeyes who are from Ohio but lives elsewhere? My heart will always be in Ohio and I even had my surgery at Cleveland clinic albeit in Florida. Someday I will live in Ohio again. It will always be my home.

Have you thought about ideal Protein? Its similar to a sleever diet. Protein shakes, Soups and bars with a lean & green meal per day. Low carb.
    May work out for you.

I went to the market today and had neurenberg sausage (low fat brats) on a bun with spicy mustard. My first since the surgery. It was yummy
I will say that the bun was too much to handle for me, I ate about half of it and then DH received the balance of the meal, but I enjoyed it and will likely have another half next saturday at the market.
The old me used to eat the whole thing and then come home and have a cookie
I didn't have this surgery so I couldn't enjoy life again. I refuse to eat on a tiny plate or carry plastics with me LOL I still enjoy wine and I eat carbs ::SHOCK:: And I'm losing weight and doing fine. I just don't eat an entire loaf of bread or a burger at every meal. Enjoy life and don't listen to the grumps. There is nothing worse than a hungry and jealous former fatty who's sucking on a lettuce leaf while you enjoy a healthy portion of a yummy treat

You just had surgery your stomach is still numb and is swollen. so at this point you most likely will feel nothing.
Please measure your intake and don't eat anything you are not supposed to because you do not have full sensation back to "know" if you are "full" or not

Honestly, its very hard to say if it changed the flavor of things during puréed stage because after surgery everything tasted and still does taste a little different than before. But by the time you hit puréed diet, you'll be elated with anything that doesn't taste like broth or Jello

When they say it gets better everyday they are right. As far as pain most of mine is gas, from drinking too much at one time or too fast. I'm not on any pain meds. I am taking it really easy. I walk but that's that only physical activity I am doing. I highly recommend the first week after surgery is a rest chill week if possible. Where you lay around watch TV and chill. Of course aside from walking. Walk walk walk. It will help with gas and blood clots. I walk in place since its raining here.

Well I'm three days out from surgery and doing well. I won't lie the gas pains hurt. As does the liquid diet lol. The smell of chicken broth makes me sick. The day of surgery is a blur to me. I'm still trying to figure out what really happened and what didn't and was just a dream. Day two was rough. A lot of gas pain. I slept most of the day. Today is much better. Had some gas issues but walking and gas x gel helps. Trying to get liquids in without getting too much gas. Not use to sipping.
Hope my other April 8 th sleevers are doing well

KatieOkieDokie reacted to Yaya in Stupid insurance, I'm doing it anyway!
Started considering WLS 7 years ago. Won't do RNY, too afraid of all the re-routing and the malabsorption issues, so considered lapband. After doing all the steps for insurance (sleep study, Dr-supervised diets, psych eval), I decided lapband wasn't quite right for me either, but continued seeing my PCP every 3 months, and using my CPAP ever since.
Now 7 years later, after discovering the gastric sleeve, I've decided this is the best route for me. Insurance told my surgeon they only needed a lust of the diets I've done in the past 5 years, a 5-year weight history, and maybe a couple other things, all of which I did within a week of my first visit to the surgeon (3/13/13).
Two days ago, my surgeon's office called with my approval, and scheduled me for next Tuesday, 4/9/13. YAY!
Today, the office calls again....Oops! The approval the insurance sent with my name on it actually was for SOMEONE ELSE! And now the insurance company says they want a 6-month Dr.-supervised diet and another psych eval. (none of which they had listed when my surgeon submitted for approval) What, seeing my PCP every 3 months for SEVEN YEARS isn't enough?
Forget it! I've made this decision, I'm ready for this now, I'm not waiting 6 months! Besides, I've already gotten the letter from my insurance carrier saying that thanks to Obamacare they are dropping ALL group insurance policies in December, so who needs them, I'm going self-pay!
I want this! Surgery next Tuesday! Onward!

I guess I'll jump in here, even though I haven't been sleeved yet (I will be in April) I had to be put on a diet to lower my BMI. I started at 422 and I'm now down to 368 since Nov.12, 2012. So the first pic was taken Nov 12, and the after was taken this morning. I hope you don't mine me posting since I haven't been sleeved yet.

YAY!!! So happy for you!! I am looking forward to being able to ride a bike! haha It seems silly but I have two nephews I love so much, and I haven't been able to enjoy running, playing, or riding bikes because of my weight! I'm hoping by the end of summer I'll be zooming around town with them, instead of watching from the yard! When reaching my goal. I want to go back to nursing school. How about you?
