  1. Thanks for the encouragement. I really needed it!
  2. I everyone. I'm having such a hard time sticking to the post-op diet. I can and have eaten more than full liquids at this point and have had no trouble doing so. I have 2 young kids that I'm with all day and it's been so hard trying to fix them meals without having some myself. I'm only 5 days post-op!!! I need to get this! Ok, next meal is only a protein shake, protein shake, protein shake, protein shake.....AAARRGGHH!!!
  3. I also like the Nectar Chocolate Truffle. They also have a flavor called Fuzzy Navel that's not too bad and there's 0 sugar and 0 fat in them. I had a hard time blending them, especially the Fuzzy Navel flavor. When I put it in the blender it would get all foamy which would make it hard for me to drink. But, my Mom gave me the idea of making them ahead of time and putting them back in the fridge for a day so all the foam would go away. Good luck!
  4. I had my surgery last Friday, May 18. It's going well but since I haven't had a fill yet I feel no restriction. I'm trying to follow the post op diet but it's been hard because I don't feel much different than before. However with the pre-op and post-op diet I've lost about 13 pounds so that's good.
  5. That told me that my blood tests were only good for a month. I have Anthem and it went very fast when I had everything turned in. Good luck. My guess is within 30 days you'll be having surgery.
  6. Hi all- I was a May 18 as well. Recovery is going well although I feel like I have no restriction and could eat anything.
  7. I'm 3 days out of surgery and doing well. I'm still sore but each day gets better.
  8. You'll do great. I had to spend the night, if you do too, you can bring your own pj bottoms, plus stuff to wash your face so you feel clean.
  9. I had a choice and chose the Lapband. My doc said he truly didn't have a preference. He said each has their own claims as to why their product is better but the independent studies don't confirm their claims. I chose Lapband because those pillows looked comfy.
  10. I've been up and around the house quite a bit, and walked to the mailbox(about 200 ft away). My two small kids are making me get up and around more than I really want to at this point. How are you?
  11. Thanks everyone. I'm a little sore today but able to get around quite a bit.
  12. Jen- nice to meet you. I know what you mean about the gas/air, mine was really bad just out of surgery but seemed to have gone away. Where are you? What city? I live in Wichita but my surgery was in Overland Park, KS. Good luck to you too.
  13. Had my surgery at 11 this morning. All went well although I had a hiatal hernia they had to repair first. I haven't had pain meds in a while and the only thing that's really sore is where my port is anchored. I can't wait to see what's ahead.
  14. Which did you choose and why? I'm not sure I feel strongly one way or the other.
  15. Anyone have ideas for a clear liquid diet? I start it tommorrow.
  16. Diet is ok. I'm grumpy probably because my "drug" of choice is gone. I've been drinking sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast, nectar Protein shakes, and Ideal Protein Shakes(my Mom works at Ideal Weigh, a weight loss center and they have their own protein products). I "cheat" with veggie Soup broth (try to leave the chunks behind). I start Clear liquids tomorrow...should be interesting. Good luck and prayers to all of you.
  17. I hear ya! I feel the same way, nervous about missing my favorite foods but I'm sure I'll find new ones I love. Good luck with your surgery, mine is on Friday so I'll be right there with you in a few days.
  18. I'm getting banded May 18. Is anyone with me? I just started the pre-op diet today as yesterday was our anniversary. So far so good although I'm not looking forward to waitressing tonight on so little calories. I'm sure I'll be fine.
  19. Hi. I'm new to this site too. Congrats on the surgery date. Mine is on the 18th and I'm starting the diet this Friday although they haven't given me the diet yet (frustrating).
  20. Hi there. How long did the doc have you take off work and what are the lifting restrictions and for how long? I have my surgery scheduled for May 8 and I don't know how long to tell my managers that I need off. I'm a waitress.
  21. Love this protein shake conversation. Keep it coming as I have to start my pre-op diet on Friday.
  22. Ok. Thanks for your input. I will have them all come and drive me home.
  23. How did you feel the day after surgery? I'm trying to figure out if I can drive myself home the day after (hospital is 2 1/2 hours away) rather than drag my hubby and 2 small kids along.
  24. Just got scheduled for May 18. I start the diet this Friday. I'm excited. Who else is getting banded in May??
