I went to Walgreens to look for Protein drinks..only found 2. Boost and ensure..ensure has a lot of sugar I was surprised.. Boost has 4 gms sugar & 16 gms protein. Ensure has 22 gms sugar & 13 gms protein Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

Thanks....I will just have to wait & see...maybe wnt nd them just during wt loss from prevop diet! I wanted to start diet right away but when I turned in papers RN told me to hold off til I saw surgeon..as I would be weighed and that weight would go on record as my beginning weight..then I would need to lose 5% of that weight. When they put you on pre op diet or liquid diet how does that work with your diabetes? I am afraid of having lows...I am on pills & insulin..I am sure my doc will hv me cut back?! Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

I have told a few people at work..aloof my family (we are a close knit family) and my BFF'S!! I know with my being off for several weeks at work they will figure it out...and I don't mind if they know at that time. I know there will be a few that will share their distaste for the surgery...but I don't care. I will say something like don't need their opinion or approval and don't appreciate them getting into to my face about it! Ust found out have my appt with surgeon next Thursday the 10th...that should get the ball rolling! Nervous but getting kind of excited about getting it done. Oh dang! Just sent emails to family and friends. And just a few co-workers the other day...didn't know abt this site yet. So far people hv bn pretty supportive...I'll find out tomorrow about co workers! There hv bn about 4 or 5 people at work that hv had the surgery and all are doing great! I hv heard some negative comments from others for some of those tht hv had the surgery...if I hear it when I hv mine...I will just say...hmmm how would you suggest I lose 130 some lbs and keep it all off!?
