  1. I still have a few gas pains but mostly I have back pain from laying around to much this last week. Everyone says to walk, walk, walk and that will get the gas out. I'm trying to get a walk in everyday but I've been lacking energy I had a rought time getting my water and protein in for the first few days so I think I'm a little dehydrated too. So now I've started writing it all down so I can get enough in and it seems to have helped. I hope your pain goes away soon so you can get on with enjoying your new life.
  2. Sorry to hear you are throwing up everytime. I was sleeved on Tuesday and I have a hard time with eating thicker stuff. It totally hurts going down. I don't know if that is the problem you are having but I figured out this morning that I just need to thin everthing out. I hope this helps.
  3. I'm not quite running yet, was just sleeved on Tuesday. Just wanted to say I love your lego man picture.
  4. I wish I could help. I was sleeved on Tuesday and haven't had a BM I don't really feel constipated but I feel I should have went by now. I'll be getting some metamusil today, hopefully that help. I would suggest doing the same good luck.
  5. Dial everywhere then Hibiclens on my stomach. The hibiclens is kinda weird.
  6. That is awesome. I hope to run one sometime this year. 184lbs is amazing. Congratulations!!!
  7. I was told I couldn't shave 4 days before the surgery which sucked because I got married 2 days before my surgery and spent that night at a hot springs. But I didn't cave I didn't want anything to interfere with getting my surgery. I biggest fear came true though I was on my period durning surgery so I did wear hospital undies and they ended up not giving me a catheter so I guess I was lucky there. I would say if you are really worried about it get it waxed.
  8. Yep still have some pain. Mostly in my back and the incision on my right side. Lots of gas still. Water doesn't go down well but I can get back Protein shakes down and yogurt. I can't wait until I'm all healed up. Good luck everyone.
  9. I had my surgery on Tue. the 19th. Everything went well, went home around 7pm on wed. I'm having a lot of gas pain and am having issues with sleeping I can't get comfortable I'm trying to sleep on a reclining couch but the pressure from my stomach is killing my back. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was hoping the pain killers would just knock me out but that isn't happening either. I would live to get more then 4 hours of sleep tonight.
  10. I was also sleeved on the 19th. I haven't gotten my leak test done yet and I'm a little nervous to drink the blue stuff. I haven't gotten to drink anything yet so I hope it doesn't hurt so swallow it. I will can't believe I finely had the surgery, it's been over a year when I started this process. Good luck on your recovery. Keep up up to date on how holy are feeling.
  11. Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom. I didn't pretty good the last few days. Slipped up a little on Sunday but only because it was my wedding day. Tomorrow is the big day. I have to be up at 4am and checked in at 5:30. Wish me luck.
  12. I'm on my 3rd week of my pre-opt diet and I can't stop cheating. The first week was a breeze the 2nd week was a little harder and I cheated a few times. This week I haven't been able to go a day without cheating. I lost 16lbs in the first 2 weeks but that doesn't seem to motivate me. My surgery is on Tues. the 19th so I know I need to stop eating. I'm suppose to only be having skim milk 3 times a day. The only thing I think might be the cause of hunger is that I started my period today, or maybe that's just an excuse. What do you all do to stay on track?
  13. I know the diet is for the liver, I guess I'm just afraid the liver won't shrink enough. I know I'm just being paranoid. Just started this process a year ago and don't want anything to go wrong. Good job serendipityhappens your almost to your goal. Keep up the good work. Susansoon-Where are you getting your surgery done. I'm in Vancouver, Wa with Dr. Dally.
  14. Today is day 12 of my 3 week skim milk pre-opt diet and I meet with my surgeon on Monday for my pre-opt workup and I'm scared to death he is going to say I haven't lost enough. My surgery in on Feb. 19. I've cheated twice in these 12 days but just for one meal each time then I was right back on the wagon. I was just wondering how much everyone has lost and if anyone has ever been turned away because they didn't lose enough?
  15. I've been obsessed with Oikos Key Lime Pie. I've tried a lot of them. And for some reason that's the one for me.
  16. Well I'm finishing up my 3rd day and today was Sooo much better then yesterday I even jumped in the elliptical for 10 mins and did a few weights. Hopefully tomorrow is better for you I felt like crap on my 2nd day. Good luck. And yes this is so going to be worth it.
  17. I'm getting mine done on Feb 19th at Peace Heath Southwest Washington Medical Center. It's been a great so far. Dr. Dally is my surgeon.
  18. Well I went to the gym did 10 mins on the elliptical and felt like I could have done more but had alreay burned 110 calories so decided to stop. I also did a few weights. I feel hungry but didn't get lite headed. So I'm happy about that.
  19. I've been trying to get motivated to go workout but I'm on day 3 of my 3 week skim milk pre-op diet and I'm just really tired and I'm affraid I'm not taking in enough calories to keep me going if I go workout. I was just wondering if anyone else has this same problem.
  20. I guess I should be glad I'm not having to drink the liquid cat litter.
  21. My surgeon says it's to shrink the liver to make it easier to get to the stomach. My personal opinion is that I think they have us do it so we are more prepaired for the post op diet. After this 3 weeks I'll be looking forward to the liquid yogurt and broth I will be allowed to have lol. Annebelle- How much milk have you been drinking everyday? I'm allowed to drink as much as I can in 5-10 mins 3 times a day. The last 2 days I drank 48oz.
  22. I'm glad you say you are feeling full, and no headaches yet that is great. Luckily my partner is trying to help me stay motivated by only drinking smoothies while at home. We'll see how long that lasts lol. Sound's like you are just as excited about your new life as I am. When is your surgery?
  23. I just had my first glass of skim milk for my 3 week diet. I'm worried I won't be able to stay on it, and very jealous of everyone else on this board who doesn't have this strict of a pre-opt diet. I'm scheduled and approved for Feb. 19 I hope I can do this I'm so excited for this life change. Has anyone had to do the milk diet and what helped you get through it?
  24. I really don't understand everyone being so secretive. You should not be ashamed about making this choice you should be proud about making the decision to better your life. If people are judgemental about it that is their problem. It's reality I'm fat and out of shape and I need to do something about it. I tell everyone pretty much everyone is supportive and is excited for me and the ones that have said I should just lose the weight with just diet and excerise, I very kindly explain that I've been trying to diet for the last 15 years and looks where is has gotten me. And then also through out there if they would like to put a 100lb fat suit on and race me up the stairs and see how easy it is. Which usually gives them a reality check. I also think by telling everyone I have a better chance of not failing. More friends and family and coworkers to keep me on track. You would be amazed how many people have already had weightloss surgery. Good luck everyone.
