  1. That's so excited! You'll have to let us know what day it's going to be!
  2. I can't say I've dealt with snarkiness on this site. Majority of people seem to be supportive and very knowledgeable of the things to come. As far as personal life goes, I haven't placed restrictions on who I'm telling. My closest friends, family, co-workers, and boss knows... simply because I think having that additional support, especially at the place where I spend 40 hours a week
  3. I really enjoyed reading this. So much of what you say holds a lot of truth. If I had a dollar for every time I was discriminated against I'd have a million + dollars. In my 23 years of existence I've been ridiculed, judge, laughed at, whispered about, and stared at by almost every stranger I've encountered. Whether it be at the grocery store where a child looked to his mother and said "she's fat" or at a restaurant where the guy running the register points at you while whispering to his co-workers... someone asked "how do you know they were talking about you"?... without ever hearing it with your ears, with your eyes you can see the disgust and the instant judgement being placed on you. I have yet to receive my surgery but I can only imagine how differently everyone around you treats you... sad really
  4. I saw the surgeon on the 20th, it was sent to the insurance company on the 24th and I got a call on the 27th saying I got the approval! Exciting indeed
  5. That is very exciting! It's good to know I'm not alone im my feelings. And congrats on the weight loss... I'm ready for loose pants!
  6. With a month until surgery I'm feeling somewhat overwhelmed. Cardio appointment, surgical clearance appointment, lab work appointment, 2 hour pre surgery informational thingy... also the pre surgery diet. 500-600 calories... I just feel a rush of emotions about it all. The excited emotion always comes out on top! Although, I do wonder/worry how it'll all pan out. Advice and tips are welcome and appreciated. How do you all woosaaa when feeling overwhelmed? I know looking to the future and the end goal is worth all the stress in the world... it is just cloudy getting there.
  7. I'm scheduled for June 5th! Glad to have some buddies in this journey
  8. Oops, you may have been referring to the 11th? That's a good day also lol
  9. Oh wow! It's going to be a good day that June 5th!
  10. I think that's a normal reaction. I'm not there quite yet, but I believe when I look back on old pictures I'll feel a rush of emotions
  11. Ahh very exciting! And stressful. I got my packet of information today about pre surgery. I'm nervous.
  12. Congratulations! My surgery is scheduled for June 5th! yayyy!
  13. That is very exciting! Congrats to you. I was at work when I got the call so no.jumping up and down but I did cry. Happy tears. I'm fairly new also but I think ya got the hang of it
  14. All this makes me feel much better. I have a bmi of 69 and was beginning to get a little worried because a lot of people on here seem quite a bit smaller than that. Although, nothing really extra was required of me. The 6 month physician supervised diet, once that was completed I saw the surgeon, got approved though insurance, and surgery is scheduled for June 5th!
  15. That is fantastic! Congrats to you I just got approved through my insurance company and surgery is scheduled for June 5th... Ahh, a size 6 would be amazing!
  16. That is awesome! Congrats to you My surgery is officially scheduled for June 5th... so surreal
