  1. I am definitely planning on having links to this website as well as others. Another question is, Would people mind if I used their before/during/ and after photos for the inspiration and stories pages? Thanks, Wade
  2. Hey, as some of you may know I am writing a book on LapBand as well. One of the things I really want to have is a lot of inspirational stories for people to read and pictures of before / during / after. It is going to be a PDF type book that way people can download it. I am also setting up a website to have it and other items on it. I have some stories, but I could really use another 10 - 12 to give the book more volume along with the pictures. Would anyone here like to help by sharing their story and photos for the book? Anyone who helps gets the book before it is published on the web site. Another thing I would like to do is to have some Audio Interviews to post on the site. So if you have a mic on your computer and I could interview you it would be great! As to the stories, what people want to hear is: 1. Why did you seek surgery? 2. Why the LapBand? 3. How did your surgery go? 4. How are you doing since the surgery? 5. What are some things you have learned about yourself? 6. What are some of the struggles you have had since the band? 7. Would you do it again? Thanks, Wade Beasley Dr. Cacchione 11.17.2003 377/317/225
  3. Thanks everyone. I go to see a counselor, dietitician and the doctor on tuesday 02.01.2005. Maybe they can help get on track. I also have a job interview on Monday night. I am hoping to change what I do so that I am not stuck in a chair all day. I think that would help a lot. I will let everyone know what they say after Tuesday. Wade Wade
  4. Hey this is Wade Again. I am attaching a word document to this message. I am looking for about 10-15 people who would be willing to tell their stories via the questionnaire for a web page I am creating and possibly a book about the Lap Band journey. If you please look at the word document and fill it out all the questions you can, I will give you a copy of everything I create. It does not matter where you are in the process. Everyone's stories are valuable for others looking into the surgery. There are a lot of questions but I want to cover as much as I can for people. Everyone in the group has been so helpful to me as I am going through this, I am wanting to give something back to the community of people seeking information. Another thing I would like to do, is have some audio interviews with people sharing their stories for people to be able to download via the internet. If you can help, please send me an email to let me know. Also you can send the completed document to the same address. wade.beasley@insightbb.com Thanks, Wade Beasley Shelbyville, KY Dr. Cacchione 11.17.2003 377/320/210 LAPBandInspirations.doc
  5. Hey, this is Wade again. I am looking into creating a web page for people to get information on the surgery and point to resources like this website for Hope and Inspiration before, during and after LapBand surgery. I know it helps me to hear and read everyone's stories. I am looking for help any from the forums that would like to share their stories and pictures. I would really like to get stories from people in all stages of the LapBand. Would anyone like to help? Also, what would be some good advice for people? What are some of the common questions and issues for everyone? If you want you can email me at my home address: wadebeasley (at) insightbb.com Thanks, Wade Beasley Shelbyville, KY LapBand 11.17.2003 -60 lbs still 90 to go.
  6. Hello, My name is Wade Beasley and I had me LapBand surgery back on 11/17/03. I started out at 377lbs before surgery and I lost 60 lbs in the first 4 months. I was close to being down 67 lbs back during the summer but I am back up to 326 lbs now. I am very depressed. I know it is bad habits like Ice Cream. I do not want to be a failure but I do alot of emotional eating. When I focus I do okay but I lose focus quickly. :angry Has anyone else had this problem? I had me band loosened before the holidays because a dietician said I might have been too tight. I am suppose to see the doctor again on 2/1 which I am sure I need to be filled again. I am currently at 2.0ccs and I was at 2.5 ccs. It seemed so easy back during the start but it is much harder now. Again, I do not want to be a failure. The other thing is I have not been working out. Sorry to dump but just needing some advise. Thanks, Wade Beasley Shelbyville, KY Dr. Cacchione - Louisville 11/17/2003
  7. Dr. Allen is from Louisville and one of the most highly regarded lapband surgeon in the US. I believe he was trained in Australia and he has trained a lot of other doctors. I could not get into him but I was able to get my lapband done by one of his partners at University Surgurical Associates in Louisville, KY at Norton's Hospital. He has really worked hard to advance the usage of lapband in WLS. Thanks, Wade Beasley Louisville, KY
  8. 10.31.2003 - Completed my Pre-Op Testing yesterday. I am good to go. Norton's Hospital in Downtown Louisville was pretty efficent on doing the tests. I had to do blood work, Chest X-Ray and an EKG. Only 2 weeks from Monday on Nov. 17th until my surgery date. For some strange reason I have been eating lately like it is going out of style. I do not know if it is the fact my body knows what is getting ready to happen or I am just trying to enjoy some foods I know I will no longer be able to eat. Hopefully, once the LapBand is in place I will not desire the same foods as before. Wade Beasley 377/377/210 Dr. Cacchione Louisville, KY
  9. I will be starting my journey to a smaller me on Nov. 17th. I am trying hard not to think about it 24 hours a day. I am constantly looking at the news groups and web sites relating to the surgery. I guess I will just have to be patient.
  10. Hello to all from KY. I just got my approval from my insurance (Humana PPO) and waiting for the nurse to call back with a scheduled date for the surgery. I am really looking forward to the procedure and my new life without the extra weight.
