  1. Thank you, all of you! It is fun for me to see the small portions. I just heard it described that your portion sizes after surgery will be about the size of an egg. I know I saw a video a few months ago that showed a womans meals after a year post op, but I can't find it, darn it. I love getting ideas PRE op, for later.
  2. I'm still pre op and in the planning stagees, so I'm unsure how much and what one eats after surgery. I'd love to see images of what you guys are eating, please with a cherry on top? I plan on taking a lot ofpics of my meals afterwards for others as well.. thanks, Amy

I do not plan on telling anyone at first, I hope that I can keep it a secret from my children even. Part of it is because I don't want people to Be less excited about my weight loss or less supportive, Because usually people are un educated about weight-loss surgery and they think it is the easy way out. I also don't want to be labeled "The one who had weight-loss surgery" Or now, when I lose all of the weight and am able to keep it off I hope that I can help others. If someone who is very overweight asks me how I was successful I will share with them. People who actually want to know. I still hope it never gets back to the in laws
  4. I watched this video last night and Thought of you when I read this I hope it helps http://youtu.be/_MPulBOwYBw
  5. I am preop and cannot get surgery until February or March. My husband has always been about 30 pounds heavier than me but he has recently lost weight and is now two or 3 pounds lighter than me. I feel terribly insecure and self-conscious and I don't want anything to do with him sexually now, if that is what you mean. My husband is now super Confident and that turns me off even more. He is looking very handsome, but it is making me feel worse about myself Maybe this is what is going on?
  6. Yep. I feel the same way. For me personally, I'm already Dieing to myself from weight related depression. I'm not living, so if I die from surgery, so be it. I'm not excited about suffering, and I don't WANT To die, my children need me and I love being here for them. But this is my chance to live. If I die trying to live........ -*shrug*-
  7. Thank you so much ladies! And gents? Gosh wha a great group of people here on vst. It's so awesome to finally have a group of people who get it!!!! (Hugs) I am going to mx and my mom is actually going with me so I'm not sure where all of this came from today. Thank you again for your support and comforting words. Oh and ill probably be seeing a sweet counselor here in town. She's not a psychiatrist but she's pretty good.
  8. This is so discouraging to me. I thought my mom was on my side as far as surgery goes. She has seen me fluctuate up and down and yo-yo diets over and over over the last 12 years. I am sick and tired of it. I am ready to do something permanent. And I am willing to put in the hard work. . I don't understand why today she is telling me that I have a lots of emotional reasons why I gained the weight. Eating when I am bored, eating when I am lonely, eating when I am stressed. Eating because it's sugar and my body craves sugar. I know all of these things and I know that I still will have a long road ahead of me surgery or no surgery. But this is my last ditch effort and I feel like there are no other options for me. I am sure that all of you know what I am talking about. I am not discouraged from getting surgery, I am just a little disappointed that I thought she was on my side and I guess she does not believe that I should get surgery. Now it feels like the only people who actually think I might succeed are you all. Well, and myself. Sigh Were or are any of you emotional eaters? Surely this surgery helps us to?
  9. I'm 5'3/4" too but I'm not sleeved yet. 230# I wondered if you girls have a hard time finding jeans like I do. And shirts actually too. Gah! When I'm a size 16 I have no problems finding my length. But the fatter my butt gets, the harder it is to find my length. everything is too long.
  10. That sounds great but at the same time I don't want to give my money I a company that is all about being dirty. How hard Is it to go to mx without a coordinator?
  11. Well, I didn't hear about the sleeve until this spring. I was dead set on it and my husband told me that he might lose his job and didnt think it was wise to do it at that time. Sooo. Since then. I've been off the boards for a while because I was discouraged but I'm back now because it looks like I'll be able to use our tax return in feb/march. I'm SO excited!! So so so. I've never wanted something more.
  12. Oh how excited you must be!!! I can't wait til i can say "2 more weeks!!" How long have you waited altogether?
  13. What's that? I've never had surgery so I don't know how I'll reAct to it. Is this an rx?
  14. When I did the hcg diet, I felt super weak and faint, so much so that I had to have OJ and I didn't know if I'd make it to the fridge. For those Of you that don't know, hcg is a 500 calorie diet.(that I made it to day 6 on and no further, twice) It's virtually zero carb tho, maybe that's what did it. I just left the house with the kids and went to sonic for a bunch of French toast sticks. It made me feel so much better. I supposedly have hypoglycemia and I'm wondering how the 300-500 calories after surgery are goin to do me. I wonder if I'll feel so weak and about to pass out again. it.
  15. Drew Carey as an example. He looked better fat.
  16. I don't have that info, but wanted to talk a little about this. I never really thought about it before but it would make sense that taller people have longer stomachs. True?
  17. Did you get another surgery? How come you are still here? I'm just curious, not being snarky. I thought the grehlin hormone came back over time?
  18. Thank you SO much for he kind words, and I would t wish depression and self hatred on anyone but its such a joy to be a member of a group of women (and men) who know what it feels like to be obese. Man I hate that word. I too feel like everyone is stating at me. "Look at those cellulite thighs" sigh. I feel a bit ashamed to say though, that I'm 240 lbs. I was going to say "only" but that puts me at a bmi that says I'm MORBIDLY OBESE. I'm disgusted. I am so excited. Well nervous, but excited. Yep, I'm getting my head in the game already. My husband made a comment about self control today and it hurt my feelings. He didnt mean to, you know how men can be, but it still stings.
  19. Rofl To the poster that don't understand he quote. I *think* ISH means sh*t. As in skinny sex is the sh*t. = great.
  20. So, since you are still here, it is safe to say that you're still planning on getting sleeved?
  21. The thought of waiting another 3 months for surgery has me feeling really stagnant. I'm a SAHM and because of my weight, I have social anxiety and I get panicky. (I know the social anxiety is directly related to my weight because I've lost 60 lbs before, putting me at 176 and I was on cloud 9. Still a little socially awkward but not panicky. ) I'm planning on getting on new anti depressants and I know three months will fly but man it seems like forever away. I never go anywhere, I have two shirts I can wear in public and can't (and don't really want to) buy more, so ya not like there's much I can do to pass the time. Honestly, I've already skipped halloween, 2 family birthday parties and I'm not planning on doing thanksgiving or Christmas. I really dislike myself when I'm not thinner. And the depression is 10fold when I'm heavy. I was doing weight watchers for the last couple weeks. Two nights of screwing up put me a lb up this week from last weeks 6lb loss and I just feel worthless. Dh is doing his first diet EVER. All those diets I've done and he didnt want to eat healthy then but the last few months while I wasn't doing well, he decides to lose. And lose he has. He's been 260 to my 233 for a Lon time. He's always been bigger than me. Today? I gain that lb and he's 2 lbs under me. I want surgery yesterday. I'm so tired of this merry go round. And now I want a TON of chocolate. I probably won't. I think. This post probably makes me sound like a kook. Please keep in mind that I'm in the thick of it. Sigh. I know I'll just have to suck it up and get over myself but this is where I am today. I guess I'm looking for virtual hugs? Or maybe been there done that stories.
  22. James 1:17 comes to mind. All good gifts are from God. Wls is a gift. And I pray that god guides my surgeons hands during surgery. Maybe your friend will come around in renown time.
