  2. oh I feel for you, yes it's gas. Gas X and heating pad and much walking and moving around to work out that air they pump you full of during surgery. Make sure you are drinking plenty and stay hydrated. The pain meds ended up making me severely constipated to where I was nauseated and couldn't drink and was taking nausea meds so had to resort to taking Magnesium Citrate to move me, just a thought. Hope you feel relief soon.
  3. Oh my, I think I've forgotten how to ride a bike, lol, but would love to try. Maybe in my near future.
  4. Big step for me, joined a gym today and started exercising today. Boy I'm worn out!!! lol. After all the years of being overweight it has taken it's toll on my knee and I've had 2 knee surgeries so my knee is bothering me now since I've gotten home but I'm not going to let it stop me. I will be almost 3 months post op this week and down 34 lbs. Best decision I've ever made, only regret, wish I had done it sooner or yrs ago. This is my time, time to get my life back, my health back. Go me!
  5. 10 wks post op yesterday and tonight of all times if the first time I've experienced any kind of heartburn or sour stomach. I've taken a Zofran and a Dramamine for nausea and 2 Omeprazole's today and still have it. My meals today were as follows: egg for breakfast, small cheese quesadilla for lunch and since I wasn't feeling well for dinner I ended up eating cottage cheese and a few crackers. I take an Omeprazole every morning but this is the first time I've experienced this. Is this normal?
  6. Up until last week when I got .5cc in my band which makes me having 5cc's I was able to eat about 2 1/2" of a Subway turkey sub until day before yesterday when I got stuck, OMG, horrible! Guess bread is out for me from now on. I put the rest of the sub in the frige and later at the meat and veggies off of it, 10 hrs later. Donuts, haven't tried and don't want to as I do not want to fall back into old eating habits so I'd rather not know if I can get them down or not...lol Just another day in banded life and its GOOD!
  7. thanks everyone for the info, I'm still leaning! I just got .5cc in my band last week making me have 5cc's in it. I do catch myself chewing really well because I do not want to get stuck again as in the past. Guess I will be more vigilant on chewing if things are trying to pass thru and making noises. Thanks again.
  8. good luck! Life is good 10 wks out!!! congrats on the pre op diet and weight loss.
  9. ok, so I'm still learning my band, will be 10 wks post op this Wed., have you ever experienced a bubbling or gurgling sound in your throat after eating or while eating? It's almost like a burping sensation but I can't burp and it makes a noise. Anyone?
  10. Well, I'm no expert but the way I've been explained to is after you get fills your stoma opening is only so big or shall I say small and therefore that piece of scrambled egg just can't get chewed very well and gets stuck over the opening, it lays just right over the opening, does this make sense? For me at least this happens no matter how well I chew a scrambled egg, now cooked over easy, it goes down ok. However, with that said, I just had .5cc put in Thurs. and have not had an egg since last Tues so we'll see. Hope this helps.
  11. are you looking on Pinterest? I am not a member of that site and would love a recipe for a delish quiche, crustless or not as I would like to make one for breakfast for myself and then I can warm it up with the left overs. Post a recipe please...thx Donna
  12. scrambled eggs get stuck with me but I tried one over easy and it was okay. Currently I have 5cc's in, just had a fill this past week. And yes you are right about shakes for breakfast and getting hungry, had one this morning before church and by noon I was starving and it had only been 3 hrs. I can usually go about 4.5 hrs between meals. The turkey/cheese roll ups sound yummy. It's so hard for me anyway because I never was a breakfast eater anyway which was a big mistake to begin with!. Good luck for us on finding breakfast foods.
  13. I had BCBS PPO and mine was waived because my BMI was at 53 therefore they approved me and from start to finish of all of it I had my surgery in 6 weeks from first meeting the surgeon. Good luck.
  14. I can't wait to lose some of my tata's, I'm a 44DD, whew! However, being that I've lost 31 lbs so far since surgery they seem smaller but I haven't changed bra sizes yet. Looking forward to it tho.
  15. I really don't rely on them for protein intake but most mornings it's the only thing I can tolerate to get down since I've gotten fills and I go for another Thurs. I'm 10 wks post op tomorrow. I'm certainly no expert on this issue but I think if you find a Protein Shake that you really like, like I have done then it is not an issue. If you have a GNC near you they will let you sample. I really really like GNC's Lean Shake Swiss chocolate, don't like the vanilla or strawberry but the choc. is delish. Tastes like chocolate milk and I hate milk but do enjoy these for something quick and easy and for those mornings I'm feeling tight. Good luck.
