How's all the June sleevers doing? I'm now at 170 day of surgery weighed 223 so I've lost 53 pounds since 6/11/12 and with pre op loss of 47 I've lost a total of 100 pounds since 2/1/12!!
Wearing size 12 pants and large tops! I loose between 1.5 to 2.5 pounds a week. Getting in around 100 grams of Protein a day and 800-950 cals a day.
    Life is good!!!!

That's right, it's the choices that we make. My Drs nurse told me to quit getting on the scales. She said everyone else is different. A gain here and there could be water, muscle, etc....I would rather lose a bit slower so my skin doesn't sag, and I keep looking for better ways to make low carb, low fat, low calorie, but she said the calories aren't a big deal if it's high Protein, good protein not anything high in fat...I love soup...so I try to have low sodium, low fat, low carb, and if I'm hungry, I can go back for more....I'm making a chili right now with deer meat, and veggies fresh from the garden...even the Tomato sause...so I know what goes into it....no sugar either....I hope it turns out good...smells good...LOL...

I started using the app on my phone called Lose It. I started tracking all my food and Water intake. I realized I was eating way more calories than I thought. I have been able to control my intake and although my weight loss is at a plateau right now I know i have to keep moving forward with working out and making the best choices possible for my body. Even if the scale does not change remember every good choice is helping your body in so many ways.

I was sleeved June 18 and I'm down 81 lbs, but I have become a gym rat to and I think that's why my weight loss has been so good.

I was June 20. As of today, I have lost 55 with 45 left to go. I feel like this is a little slow. What do you think? Recently, I found that the longer that I sleep at night, the better my weight loss is.

Sleeved June 13th. Total weight loss to date is 93 pounds (lost 45 prior to being sleeved). I am 5'2, weigh 136, and wear a size 6. I can't believe that just 8 months ago I weighed 230 pounds!

Hey ladies. I'm also in my 50's. 57 to be exact. I'm doing cardio and weight training to minimize my saggy skin. Whatever sag I have I'll live it for awhile because it will change over a couple of years.
There are some good articles out there about dry brushing and I do that too. Amazon has an excellent selection of brushes to revitilize and engergize this important, forgotten organ. I'm hoping that will also help.
I bought my goal outfit right before my surgery. Yup, I was a size 18/20 pants and 2X top and I bought a size 6 dress!!!! In a way it seemed silly but I'm less than 4 months post op and my size 16 jeans are loose! Dream big, lose big. Good luck to you!

December for you too!!!! It's good to see someone else will be getting it done around the same time. I wonder if toning up now will do anything. I have been trying to lift weights and do lunges but it's hard..

Thank you for the insight. I didn't look at it that way. Right now I am not happy with my weight and to top it off I work in the bariatric research department at the Cleveland clinic-talk about being a hypocrite. I think that my goal is to live a longer life byany means necessary.

It is very difficult losing all the weight, but having saggy skin. I have had 2 children, breastfed, had a c-section, and lost over 120lbs, so underneath my clothes, it is a pretty sorry state. Sometimes I still feel fat because of the hanging skin, but I am getting better at accepting my body. I am saving to have plastics done, but it is going to be another year or 2 before I can get it done. I remember on one forum someone saying they looked like a 80 year old naked, but I 25 year old with clothes on. That is how I feel now, and I might not feel great naked, but I spend most of my time in clothes and feel good in them.
Maybe a couple of suggestions to try and help. Go out and buy yourself a really good fitting bra and some nice clothes, something you feel amazing in. I really believe that good fitting clothes can make you feel great! Also, look at pictures of yourself and clothes from before you lost any weight and try to think if you were really more happy then or not. Finally, I am guessing that it really does not bother your fiance at all. Oh, and if you get a good boob job, a lot of times you can barely tell the difference. Boob jobs have come a long way!

Everyone's body is different. I am also in my twenties and I have a few areas where I wish it was a little tighter, but it was my fault I got to the point that I did. I feel good because I feel healthy, yes I still wont show off certain areas because I am self conscious of them but I would rather be thinner and healthy than fat with tight skin. Just remember why you got the surgery. Do some toning exercises I have accepted that I will have to do some plastic surgery myself. Just look at your success and think positive! I am here if you need me!

I wear sports bra mostly for that reason.
I used to have frontal dd cups and side c cups. I used to feel like I had four boobs. I am happier about the weight loss in my chest more than any other thing thing. I don't feel like I am suffocating any longer!

i have never cared much for soda, unless i had it in a alchoholic beverage. i dont drink anymore so no need for soda. i cant really tolerate BBQ Sauce or red sauces and i am 3 and a half mths post op. as far as lettuce it goes down so smooth i would eat a salad every day. i find soft foods work well with me .....i have truly learned to love yogurt and mashed potatoes, and talopia fish. so i eat that more than any other food. i love being sleeved so much i walk a mile a day, when i hadnt walked in two almost three years and now im on a mile and a half. would i get sleeved again yes in a heartbeat....

Go to bed the night before confident and proud of taking this step. I know you spent a lot of time focusing on this day, let it go. The more rest and relaxed you are the better. Keep positive thoughts in your head. The next day try to stay cheerful. Going into something completely freaked out, isn't going to make anything easier. Breathe deeply.
Bring with you a favorite little throw blanket if you have one, bring your favorite type of decaff tea. They usually serve hot Water and a tea bag in a plastic coffee cup which smells like coffee. It made me grossed out. I brought Bigelow Decaff Peppermint Tea, it soothed my tummy, it tasted good and I asked the nurses for a styrofoam cup. (Even when it got cold it was soothing on my stomach and esophagus). If it wasn't for the tea, I don't think I could have handled the Water. It really helped immensely I don't like artificial sweeteners because they cause me to have Migraines but I do like Truvia, bring your favorite brand of artificial sweetener with you, because chances are good you will end up with something you don't like lol.
Bring chap stick for your lips, bring Charmaine wipes with you. Bring something for dry mouth, I brought some Biotine Mouth Wash.
Walk. The minute you feel strong enough to get out of bed and walk around the nurses station DO IT. Make sure when you do this bring one of those moistening sponge sticks with you, especially if you are going to be talking to someone, my mouth dried out quickly because of the antinausea patch they had behind my ear.
Do not hesitate to ask for something for nausea. There is no reason to be nauseous, there is a plethora of medications to help you. If you are going to have to have the upper gi test the next day, make sure you request something in advanced for nausea. It's not barium that they make you swallow, I hated it though. It's best to be prepared.
Again, stay positive. lots of sips. Remember that every single day is better than the day before and in the end it's completely worth it.
Things I didn't use, the kindle, pj's, robe, I did bring crocs with me. If you feel you have to go potty, ring the nurse in the middle of the night in enough time for them to come and unhook everything (especially if your legs are in the automatic compression thing. Sip during the night.
If you are given a spirometer use it often. Make sure you take extremely deep breaths. Spirometer is a wonderful device to help you avoid pneumonia, which is easy to get when you are in a hospital.
Stay positive and be happy. Best thing I have ever done for myself.

Ok with MFP you do not have to eat the calories you burn off doing activity. They add it to your number of calories allowed for the day just to show you that with that exercise you can eat that many more calories. So no you do not have to eat the 400 calories. And if you dont eat those 400 calories then you will probably lose slightly more weight.
