just got home from hospital
LaBelle509 replied to Thatyoungguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there, it gets better! I felt "ok" by day five. I took my pain pill on time!!! Don't forget to stay hydrated. Sip as often as you can. And walk as much as you can. -
Today, the very beginning to the rest of my life!

Welcome to the loser's bench! It is a wonderful place to be:) -
It will change. For the surgery to be successful, it has to change. For your new tool to work, your whole mindset has to change. I felt the same way you did at first, now ten months later I WISH I could go back to my small portions!! Now I am able to eat more, I tolerate pretty much everything I eat, and the weight loss has slowed down. My advice to you, take full advantage of the first six months post surgery. Embrace them. Teach yourself to be satisfied with a small amount of food, teach yourself to sop before feeling stuffed, teach yourself to eat well and make wise choices. By month eight, the restriction from your stomach will be less. So be sure you have created a good pattern by then. At first going out did feel like a waste of time. I didn't see a point in going to dinners and events that involved food. But you know what, I enjoyed food enough. I enjoyed eating too much. Life got easier once I stopped regretting the things that was keeping me at almost 350 lbs. Trust me when I say, once the weight starts coming off, the last thing you will be thinking about is food

LaBelle509 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I woke up this morning feeling absolutely happy!!! Had a fantastic week( away from the scale lol). I went out with my sister on to a local sea food place. I had some fried fish and fried jumbo shrimps  I have a strict rule against fried food, but I just felt it and it was so GOOD!!! Almost at the six months mark and loving my sleeve so much more  Here are a few silly, goofy pics!- 7 replies

thank you. And that's the key right there, moderation. Sadly I am just now learning what it means and I am afraid of messing up and finding myself back at 348 lbs:( -

thank you! I didn't really feel guilty. Just surprised that I ate as much as I did. But before I would have been able to eat the whole bag, plus soda, plus whatever else. After I ate them, I had to just do a shake for supper since I was still full. -

I feel your pain! did that once and I felt like I was having a heart attack. Started sweating, felt sick in my skin, felt like a swallowed a rock. Noticed I said once. Never ate fast again. I learned my lesson lol! -
Water, water, water
LaBelle509 replied to Jessica82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jello also counts toward your liquids. I would also suggest sugar free Popsicle they saved my life!!! Ice cubes or crush are also great ways to snick in fluids -
Another successful day! Five pounds down after a long stall!! The way I see it, I am five pounds closer to my goal. #PROTEIN #WATER #NOSUGAR #LOWCARBS #REST #HAPPYNESS

Good luck tomorrow! Walk as soon as you can, and as much as you can. Stay on top of your pain, with proper pain management. Take your medicine on time. Once you are able to drink: SIP, SIP, AND SIP!!! AVOID DEHYDRATION AT ALL COST!!! It's normal to feel nervous but do not stress. It will not benefit you at this point. Healing starts in the mind and than the body follows
