  1. I used to be a human furnace... No longer!!! Now, I actually get chilled in the air conditioned buildings! I blamed it all on peri-menopause! Just another reason to LOVE my sleeve!!!
  2. Welcome to the site... Lots of info here...AND LOTS of SUPPORT too! Check out myfitnesspal.com to help you track your eating. It's a great tool to use. Oh yeah & take your measurements if you haven't already. That was my biggest regret (I didn't even think to do that in the beginning)! Good luck & remember to drink plenty of liquids & walk, walk, walk!!! If you ever eat too much or your sleeve feels funny, WALK. It helps soooo much!
  3. Don't feel sorry for yourself... It does get better. When you're feeling down, get up & walk. Remember you are on your way to a healthier you! Hope you feel better. This is a great site for encouragement! We have all been there!
  4. Isn't that a great feeling?!!! Congrats... and these sleeves do rock!!!
  5. Look up the Atkins bars...I use them all the time. Takes care of the munchies & gives you the protein! atkins.com The chocolate chip granola & peanut butter granola are great!
  6. I don't have periods, but Liquid Tylenol works much better for my knee pain than regular Tylenol
  7. Yeeha.... The size 12 shorts are to big! Wore them yesterday & I could slide them off without undoing them!!!
  8. Hello Michigan Sleevers... Just checking in here... Down 84 lbs as of this morning & almost 7 months since surgery! And a NSV yesterday, I got into a size 12 shorts & a medium top!!!
  9. I was considering the bypass until my surgeon totally explained the differences in a way I could fully understand. It was the best choice for me. I'm just over 6 months out & have lost 82 lbs. I couldn't be happier!
  10. I do the same thing... My drs. scale makes me 3 lbs heavier... I told him I like my scale better, he said it really doesn't make that big of a difference, as long as as I'm still showing a loss...
  11. My only regret is, that I didn't get my sleeve sooner! I love it! It won't be long & you will be able to eat other foods, just be careful what you choose to eat...
  12. I'm cooking a pork loin today... pork loin, onion soup mix, 1/2 cup of water. Then later I will take it out & pull it apart & add BBQ sauce. Delicious!!!
  13. I love chili made with ground turkey... & if you have a crock pot, put it to work...
  14. The reason for the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver, not just to get use to eating a new way. I don't think 1 cheat is going to ruin the whole thing. Just remember why you're doing this... I had 10 days of liquids & 1 day of clear liquids pre-op. Good luck.
  15. Greasy fried in, makes for greasy out too (Ewwww) Besides, we had the sleeve to help us not to revert back to eating all the bad things.
  16. My nutritionist said that I'm good at 1000 calories for now. When I get to my goal, they will up it to 1200 to maintain...
  17. My surgeon also conducted the seminar I went to. He told of the pros & cons to each type of surgery & answered any questions we had.
  18. I had to start the lactose free milk...
  19. Never eat FRIED!!! Spicy depends on your tastes...
  20. You will have stalls along the way. Try not to get to frustrated. Just walk, walk, walk. I also have been using, myfitnesspal.com to keep track of my food intake, along with protein, calories, etc. if you use it, my username is Doreykn. Good luck.
  21. Also...myfitnesspal.com is great for tracking your food & calories, protein, etc... I'm Doreykn on there.
  22. Eat 3 meals & have a light snack in between... I have multi-grain crackers & cheese. I try not to eat a snack to close to bed or I feel like I'm gonna throw up. My Dr. says 5 to 6 SMALL meals... or drink a small protein shake to get you through the hunger... Good luck.
  23. I just asked my surgeon about this yesterday... He said your body will use all that it needs & if it doesn't need all that you ingest at one time you just pee it out. He did say it's better to spread it out over a period of time.
  24. I have tried the chocolate, strawberry & vanilla (not too bad)... try putting it in a blender with ice & fat free milk. I also add sugar free pudding mix(just a little bit) for a variety of flavors...
  25. My surgeon told me to stay away from rice & Pasta & breads. Whole grain rice is something I plan on trying soon, just not much at one time. I also had whole wheat pasta(just a little) and that wasn't too bad. Atkins Protein bars... delicious & nutritious! Especially chocolate chip granola & Peanut Butter granola
