  1. It is a powdered Peanut Butter that my doc allows as an addition o thr Bariessential that he trquires. I live in Central Texas and bought it at an HEB. Great stuff.
  2. Today was day 2 of 14 on Bariesstensial shakes. All I can say is I am so glad for the PB2 for making them bearable.
  3. I have only now really thought about today being my last day before my pre op. I had planned on having a healthy, filling lunch. Instead got up at 4:30 AM, drove 3.5 hours to San Antonio, worked till 3:30 PM, and drove 3.5 hours home. I will be looking forward to eight weeks (or so) when I get my next chance to have normal but smaller portions of food. I am ready to get this dance started.
  4. I start my pre-op on Thursday and Dr. Kim is ultra conservative. I'll still be working the following week and I am worried about the flying and bowel issues. Things are already unpredictable and all that liquid is worrisome. Tne few days before surgery (Sept 17-19) at least won't be confined on a plane.
  5. OK, I admit to weighing 100 pounds more than I weighed as a blushing bride in 1968. The 100 pounds bothers me but not nearly as much as the copious number of pills I take every day along with 45 units of lantus. Am I being realistic in expecting the diabetes to resolve itself with losing the 100 pounds and adding a reasonable exercise program? Can anyone say that it has worked out that way for them?
  6. Scorpion I understand your worry. It happened to me as well. I was totally in shock as I expected to ace the stress test. I was able to get in about 7days later. Went to the clinic and they started off with an IV placed. I am still in a daze at that point and did not question it. When I got back to the room with the tread mill I overheard them talking that I needed the nuclear version. I asked why and they said that the bariatric clinic had told them I was unble to do the physical test. That was baloney to I elected do the physical test. It did make for a long three minutes on the treadmill but I did fine. They did manage to sneak in a carotid artery test. Sometimes I think that they take advantage when one has insurance. Just my opinion on that. You will do fine. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
  7. I do not travel internationally often but I have never had any trouble getting a small baby powder in my carry on. Even if they did test it for explosives it would not trigger. Find some good tasting (to you) Protein powder and do not sweat it. At the moment I am enjoying
  8. Stupid spell check. It should say as well. Prozac is my drug of choice!

  10. welcome to the best advocates out there. I am preop as Wellbutrin scheduled for Sept 20
  11. I will be on lifting restrictions for 4 to 6 weeks. I travel for work and the suitcase pretty much cancels that. I am sure that it will be expected that I travel earlier but even if hubby loads the suitcase in the car I will have to lift out and put it in and out of the rent car.
  12. Is there a thread already for September 2012 sleevers? I am scheduled for Sept 20 with Dr. D Kim at Trophy Club. I had my endoscopy done locally yesterday and still need a clearance from a Cardiologist. They attempted to do it at Dr. Kim's office but for some reason they felt it needed to be finished by a cardiologist. Darn! I am scared but I am also so tired of my blood glucose levels flip floping around. Woke up last ***ht to a 53. Probably a reaction to the endoscopy because I did not take the lantus yesterday evening due to low calories all day. Figuring out how to control the glucose levels while on the liquid diet will be interesting. Any advice from those that have already accomplished this? weight loss is a fine thing but my main reason for doing the surgery is the hope of better control of the diabetes.
  13. I have been wondering how he is doing as well. He is an inspiration to many.
