If you are going to the marriott they provide 2 bottles of water a day along with some chicken broth and popsicles. Don't bring extra... Id couldn't even finish 1 bottle a day.
  9. I have been in méxico for the last few days, Tijuana to be exact. I feel safe here. As for Monterrey i have been hearing on the Mexican news that 42 bodies were just found headless and mangled. They say that Monterrey isn't very safe right now. Just be careful.
  10. I had surgery with Dr. García on Thursday. I also had a drain tube. Id just want everyone to be aware that if it hurts when they pull, tell them to stop! Mine got twisted into a knot and it hurt like a Bit• h. They tried a few more times to get it out and even called in one of the doctors.... No luck. Finally they got Dr. García and he numbed me up with a ton of lidocaine. There were 7 people in my room trying to figure out what had happened. After the numbing medication kicked in, he pulled and it did NOT hurt.

So today is monday and i am feeling pretty good. I had my surgery on thursday and i am just a little sore. eating is wierd. I don't have an issue when it comes to sip sip sip. I am a good sipper. I do experience quite a bit of heartburn oro maybe it's bloating. Id just get to feeling like my body can't accept anything else. It doesn't last long. I have a ton of gurggling. I must say that burping and farting have helped me to feel better. i do not regret my decisión and i am sure i won't. My mom is here with me and we have gone to dinner and id never get nauseated nor do i wish i could be eating her meal. I don't have access to a scale at this time. I'm not sure if i have lost anything yet. I did get on the scale at the hospital and i had gained weight. No surprise, i am sure it was Water weight. I am hopeful. We leave México today. I have felt safe here the entire time. The hotel marriott is a very nice. My mom has been able to lay out at the pool and relax. I went to the pool for a little bit yesterday and it was nice. The Hospital MI doctor was not in the nicest of areas, but i never needed to go outside. The 1st floor has a little room with a few chairs and a tv. there is also a little café that has a good selection of food. My mom brought little things to eat and warm up in a microwave, but the microwave was not easily accessible. The 2nd floor was where the fluroscopy was for your leak test. There were also some offices there. The 3rd floor was the operating room floor and the patient rooms. The floor was small. 42 steps from my room at the end of one hall to the other end. If there were more than 2 people walking, it would turn into a traffic jam. Any questions just ask! Jenn

    Any May Sleevers Here?

Surgery was Thursday with Dr Garcia and today is Sunday. So far I am feeling so much better. I had a good hospital stay with minimal pain. I had some nausea, never vomited but was close to it. My pain was tolerable. The drain was a different story. It made breathing tough. On Saturday when they took the drain out I had a little complication. My drain had worked itself into a knot. It was terrible pain. Dr Garcia and about 6 other workers came into my room to help get it out. They numbed me with lidocaine and they were able to get it out with no further pain. Each day gets better. I have been burping and passing a little bit of gas. For the most part, it feels as if I did a killer ab workout. Now, as for the hospital and the care.... I must say that the language barrier made things very tough. I had an IV go bad and it was hard to communicate that. The nurses English was very rough. I know that I was in Mexico and Spanish is their language, but I guess I thought that since most of the patients speak English that the nurses would have better English skills. The nurses had you doing a lot for yourself. Minimal help with showering and or getting your Ted hose on and off. I am excited for my new life and eager for the water weight to come off.

Posted 13 hours ago I want to apologize in advance if this is long. My experience with Dr Garcia so far has been very good. Arrived to San Diego on Wednesday late evening. The original driver Samuel was unable to pick me up. His father was going to pick us up. He was delayed do to construction at the border. Once he arrived, I must admit that the car left much to be desired. We drove to the border where we just had to slow down a bit. Mexico lets you go into Mexico with little hassle. Marriott was nice. Very friendly. Surgery was Thursday and it went well. I have very little nausea. It mostly comes on when I wall and my pain increases. O have a JP drain that isn't draining anything. My pain is an intense ache made wore by deep breathing. From what I understand, leak test will be performed Friday, today, and then clears. Jenn
