  1. I'm getting the sleeve but don't have a surgery date yet, hopefully the beginning of December. I'm a nurse and am doing this proactively to prevent complications such as diabetes and sleep apnea. My journey started when I mentioned the lap band to my best friend and she was super supportive of the idea. Then I pursued more information thus deciding on the sleeve. I've told my sisters and Dad about my plans for surgery but am debating telling my Mom until I have a date for surgery. I dont have her influencing my decision or gossiping with other friends/family members. After surgery I'll tell others if they ask, but really its nobody's business.
