Well since I forgot to put up a picture at 9 months picture, so technically it's a 10 month picture. I have currently lost 131#. I haven't updated my status on here and I will correct that shortly. Thought I would post some pictures from beginning until now. This tool will work for you! I am not saying I didn't have set backs and everything wasn't perfect on my journey, but it is working. I am thankful I took the leap.

An email from Obesityhelp.com reminded me that it was two years ago today I had my VSG. No regrets!
I was not a big loser by any means. My surgeon predicted that because I started at 230 lbs and 5' 5" I would not lose 100 lbs. I did lose and maintain a 65 lb loss. I feel and look SO much better that I don't really care. I could be more committed about exercise and lose more, but with working full time and being 60 years old, I am content with my weight loss.
VSG is the way to go. I see coworkers who have all had GBP having Iron infusions. My iron has remained perfect. I eat very small meals and basically no food has bothered me. I do stay away from very spicy things, which I don't enjoy anyway.
The thing that has surpised me the most is how differently people treat me. This has changed with friends, coworkers and even strangers. It is kind of sad that I now realize how I was treated when I was a large lady. I get more doors opened for me, smiles from men and women and just find that people are more willing to strike up a conversation.
Hubby won't admit that he likes the smaller me, but his actions speak volumes!
I wish the best for all of you who decide to have the VSG. Just remember that it is a tool that you are given to help you toward a healthier life!

I wasn't sure that I could see a difference between the 6 and 10 month picture and then I realized my black running pants..they only went down to mid calf at 6 months..now they are down to my ankles..lol!

Hi pip... I have followed your posts for months but never saw you any other way but your current avatar. Thanks so much for posting the befores. It really helps to inspire those of us just beginning. I think i do remember mention of a new haircut early on but never saw the significant body morph! I am so proud of your accomplishments and know it cant be nearly what you must feel with such improved health. Congratulations! You were among a few on here who were my secret mentors. I've missed your frequent posts but so glad you posted this update.

Jazz, I just wanted to share one thought on your comment about seeking advice.
I had a bad recovery, the worst really and I came here because I was confused about my symptoms and wasn't getting the medical support I should have from my doctor's office. I have seen others do the same, I've in fact offered "medical" advice, based on my complications that I know helped someone understand the need to move on past their doctor to get adequate medical care, or just force their doctor to listen to them, which resulted in the situation being taken more seriously by their doc (often people get stopped at the nurses or aide's desk and the doc isn't involved, which is silly). So honestly, coming to a place like this, where we have all had the same procedure, can be a place to pick up valuable medical advise though of course you should additionally discuss your thoughts with a doctor.
I know from years of fighting for diagnosis for my son's rare condition that a patient HAS to contribute to their medical situation when it's a tricky situation or if they aren't getting what they need from the medical community. The first step in that is seeing what's normal and what's not, and a place like this is the place to find that stuff out

If they want an ask a vet forum put one in but here...I don't give a rats patottie if a new person reads these threads and does not understand them or is offended..even afraid to post. I had my surgery in may but it feels like yesterday. I'm not a vet or a new person. I'm just me on my journey... Trying to live it the best I can...hopefully I do it right but lord knows I'm not perfect or I wouldn't be human. If I can help someone else on this journey and find support on mine then I am happy.
