My hair is falling out like crazy and I am on 7500 mcg of Biotin daily. I had a head full of thick straight hair.. Now it's thinned out a lot, but still looks healthy ..I brush out handfuls daily. From what my doc had told me, it usually starts about 3-6 months out ..I am 4 months out. And as someone else said, it will grow back. My thinking is if I lose 150-200 pounds..I can wear a wig!

So I want to add to the theory ..could it be that the 40 year old 1) does want a man with more stamina ..that was already mentioned..but I also think 2) its because the 40 year old woman who is divorced is tired of putting up with the bs of the older men, so of course..go with a younger man....and have your "fun time" ..and now that the 40 year old woman is done having her fun with him for the evening ...he can go home!!!! Get out of my house! Just a thought!

I get asked that a lot as well, and I take it as a compliment too. I also get asked quite a few questions about the type of surgery I had. I never lie about the fact I had surgery, and I have found people around me looking into it because of my progress. The only person who is asking me if I eating enough is my mother, but that's because she is my mom and loves me and wants me to be healthy.

Just sticking my head in. Things have beed SO incredibly crazy for me and haven't had time to really sit down and pull all of my thoughts together. I'll post the short version here:
Have accomplished quite a bit since the last check-in. I finally scale moving, but my body is being sculpted at an amazing rate, due to my love of running.

The inches are disappearing, but STILL haven't hit One-derland, and I'm almost 2 years out. More important to me though, have become the NSV's...
This coming weekend, I will be doing a 5k race up at Yankee Stadium to raise money for Cancer Research (something extreamly near & dear to my heart). The course takes place inside the stadium, and incorporates the concourses, ramps, and stairs. STOKED, but nervous...and ever-ready for a challenge.
I also took to the challenge of doing BOTH the Marine Corps 10k and the Zombie 5k obstacle course in the same weekend at the end of October, so I am in training mode. That will surely show me what I'm made of!
In other news: my eating has been pretty good. I'm focused. But I'd be lying if I didn't say how frustrated I am with the scale not showing all of the effort I'm putting in. I guess it shouldn't be important...but it is.
No matter - I plan to keep going. Something will eventually have to give, right!??!?
SO...MORE IMPORTANTLY: how is everyone doing?!?!?!? What challenges have you been having?? What NSV's have made you smile the most?

A lot of people would probably be either offended or put off by these questions. Not this gal! I went to the movies with a friend I hadn't seen since before my surgery and have lost about 80 pounds since she had last seen me. As we were sitting into our seats, she asked me if I had gotten sick and was feeling okay. Now, I actually took it as a compliment! Is that weird? I mean, I didn't take it that she thought I looked sick, just that I appear so skinny compared to before that the only explanation was that I had fallen ill!
Yeah... I AM weird.... Hmm...

Who knew a busted lip could be so joyous! Ouch!!

I want to Celebrate and shout from the rooftops! I made my surgeons goal on my appt day! I didnt even know he had a goal for me and he turns to me and says, "Congratulations, you made goal!" I said what??? I made up an arbitrary goal of 135 because i remember weighing that in college. I had no idea what my goal was supposed to be... He said "see, your ideal weight is 138 and I weighed in at exactly 138! Wow.. I thought I had missed it by three pounds but it was so refreshing to say that I finally made A goal. I always fall short but not this time! My wonderful hubby made a great slideshow of the whole process, starting from our Brazil vacation spring of 2011 to now. Its been quite a ride!!!!! Woohooo... I cant believe I made my surgeons goal in exactly one year!!!!! Wooop! enjoy the show..

I use the big Bariatric Advantage sweet tart looking things, but they make me nausous for about 10 - 15 minutes. Nothing bad, just unpleasant. I think it is the rasberry flavor that one poster did not like either. I need to try some of the other flavors. I have been a bit lax in taking them on schedule, but so far my numbers are good. I do like the chewing better than another pill.

What do they taste like? I've been looking for some in the store but can't seem to find any chewables. Right now I'm taking gummies but I want to convert to chewables. I feel like gummies have too much sugar. Idk. I'm just being paranoid.

No, actually I enjoy eatting them...they take care of the need I have at times to just have something in my mouth...like gum or candy or something..

So ..I had posted recently that I was able to wear my wedding band and engagement ring again. Well I also had a mother's ring I couldn't wear my hubby designed and commissioned a man named David to make for me. This ring is very special to me because 1) my hubby loving designed the infinity design and had all of our birthstones placed within the infinity symbol, and 2) David was dying with colon cancer and this was one of the last rings he commissioned to make. When I got it to my surprise, my birth stone was not the right one, but David had a turn for the worse and I didn't have the heart to take it back..David passed a couple of days later. So for a long time ..I was sadden because one it would honor my husband and family to wear it and it would honor David since it was one of the last pieces his hands made, nut my jands had become too large to cpmfortably amd safely wear. To my great surprise, my ring fits on my right middle finger now instead of my right ring finger! I will not have it resized. I plan on wearing it and reminiscing about how this beautiful gesture came to be. I will just keep on switching fingers until I run out! Then..I may wear it around my neck! I am glad I loved myself enough to get my sleeve. My life is much better for it!

Your story of this ring is really touching. It is nice to know that he will be remembered and that you actually will be able to showcase one of his last pieces now. I am so glad to hear this NSV =) It is definitely an incredible thing.

You're totally right.....it can still have a precious place in your heart, whether it is on your finger (pick a size!) or on a chain around your neck.
