  1. I was told as soon as i was confortable, but it was about 2 weeks, tried earlier but i still had some pain.
  2. I actually had a pcp and obgyn suggest wls. But the insurance i had at the time wouldn't cover it. I started seeing a new pcp in October and had already been to an info secession with the doctor that did my surgery. So during my initial visit i told her i was looking into the surgery and would need approval. She asked me some question and had a few more at my next appointment but that was it. I recently saw another doctor in the practice and she stayed in with me for 30min asking all about my surgery and who performed it. I was the 1st patient wls she had seen and she was amazed by the weight i had lost after only 10 weeks.
  3. and my daughters ice shaver. i would make shaved ice and put a small amout of apple juice on top, and last week at wal-mart i found a sugar free hawian punch syrup for the ice.
  4. only thing to come close to quinching my thirst in the beginning was sugar free popsicles.
  5. My Doctor said there is no such thing as too much water after surgery. I was told because of the temps being at or over 100 he wanted me to concenterate on water more than protein if i had to to prevent dehydration.
  6. I was losing about 4lbs a day the whole second week but then stalled for 3 weeks and I am now losing 2-4lbs a week.
  7. My daughter is a quite a bit older, shes 12. I told her i was hiving the surgery to lose weight and get healthy. I told her the Dr was gonna put 7 small holes in my stomach and 1 large hole and that when i came home i was probably gonna be tired, sore and cranky. I let her ask any questions she had. I left it up to her if she wanted to see me in the hospital. She did come up to see me and thinks it's funny that i don't remember because of all the pain meds. But she was a great little nurse when i got home. lol she even helped her dad cook dinner the 1st week or so after i got home.
  8. 27lbs the 1st month and about 10 per month since then.
  9. I agree with everyone else, buy second hand for everything except bra and panties. Those I buy new.
  10. I have no Ugly and very little bad. I was completely off pain meds 1 week after surgery. The worst part for me is I can't drink milk any more (and I love milk), but am enjoying Soy milk. I had surgery in March and a normal dinner for me is usually about 1.5 oz of chicken 2 or 3 bites of a vegtable and maybe 1 or 2 bites of a pasta or potato.
  11. I was sleeved in March, and so far no regrets, i was scared leading up to my surgery date but I think that is normal. I have had no complications and think this is the best thing i have ever done.
  12. I know for me, every time i have stalled or slowed down that I am losing inches, i have had a 3 week stall only lost 1 pound but i dropped 2 pant sizes.

I have a recipe for meatballs with cheese in the center somewhere. They were called Volcano meatballs and my husband daughter and I all love them. Pre surgery we loved to make meatball subs with them.
  14. Sleeved March 21, down 49lbs since surgery, 70lbs including pre op diet.
  15. The 1st 2 weeks i weighed myself everyday. But week 3 i hit a stall and would gain a few pounds and lose a few pounds and then at the end of the week i was exactly the same weight as the week before. I now try really hard to weigh my self only once a week. That way i really notice the pounds i am losing.
  16. I have that problem now with some milk products. I had surgery in March and if i drink milk i have to run to the bathroom in where from 30 min to an hour. I had problems with cottage cheese in the beginning but am ok with it now for the most part. I still can't do milk i keep trying it but no luck yet. I have started using Soy milk instead. Never had any problem with any cheeses.
  17. i had a catherer it came out the morning after surgery
  18. once you start adding soild food you should start to feel the restriction and fullness.
  19. Dr Yancey, Chesapeake Bariatric in Chesapeake Virginia. The practice has a payment plan you can set up for Self Pay. Had my sleeve in March and love my Dr and all the office staff.
  20. I was told calories didn't matter until i started full soilds and then to try to get between 800-1200.
  21. i am 3months out and am 1/2 a size smaller so far
  22. I felt like i could eat more than i should on pureed foods, but now that i am on solids i definatly feel full after very little.
  23. Bought my first skirt that is above my knees in over 8 years. went shopping and got sa jean skirt that is just at/above my knees. all the other skirts i have owned in the last 8 years have been calf or ankle length. I was just so excited to wear my skirt today. This is my first clothes purchase since surgery just to happy to keep it all in.
  24. i have always loved milk, but after surgery it doesn't love me. can do milk based products now, but more that 2 or 3 sips of milk and i am running for a bathroom€.
