  1. usually don't start feeling fullness until you start on solids.
  2. I am 6 months now, i can do cheese and yogurt with no problem, but Tuesday was the 1st time i drank milk and didn't have to run to the bathroom, I just kept trying it every few weeks just a little at a time. Tuesday i was able to drink 1 cup of skim.
  3. 6 months out, down 96lbs, 75 since surgery March 21.
  4. I was told to wait at least 6 weeks to do anything more than walking. But if you are gonna do the elepictical i would just cut it back to maybe 10 min and add 2 min every few day to build up slowly.
  5. I am 6months out, I am losing band size but not cup size, started at a 54 C now a 46C. But they do look smaller.
  6. I was told Mechanical forms of birth control until 12-18 months out or once in mantiance.
  7. i just brushed mine and left it down. I had to put on a surgical cap before i went back. Which i don't remember, i don't remember anything after the put medication in my IV, but apparently my mom had to put my cap on for me.
  8. My doctor doesn't recommend the lap bad with a BMI of over 35, but says at a BMI of 54 i was a good canidate for either the sleeve or the by pass. I didn't want a bypass because of the malabsorbstion issues. at 6months I am down from 407 to 311, and couldn't be happier about my choice.
  9. It is not that bad, The nurses were prepard, had me stand up, positioned me in front of the machine. As the doctor walked into the room they had me drink the horrible liquid, 1 stood nearby with a bucket just in case. Doctor told me all was good and then it was done. It was gross and i hated it but it was done and i was back in my room in less than 5 minutes.
  10. I like Muscle Milk, I think the best one is Cake batter, but i also like banana creme and vanilla creme. The cake and banana i can only find at GNC and The Vitamin store.
  11. I still eat out, Usually at least once a week with friends or family. I can find something to eat on just about every menu ( i usually look at the kids menu but at most places everything on the kids menu if fried or pasta). I always come home with a lot of leftovers. Only thing i miss is going out for drinks, but my surgeon recommends no alcohol for 1 year.
  12. I was on the fence for a while, i knew i didn't want the RNY but had never heard of the sleeve when I started this process. My doctor doesn't recommend the band if you are morbidly obese because the weight loss is slower and less. Also after the 1st 4 weeks the risk of complication drops for the sleeve, for the bad there is always a risk of complications, if you search this site there are a LOT of banders that switch to the sleeve because of complications.
  13. i premade a few dinners and put them in the freezer, they just had to be put in the oven to cook. And since my husband isn't very good in the cooking department i made sure the freezer was stocked with things like chicken nuggets, and that i had lots of canned chicken and tuna. By about 2 weeks out i was usually able to cook dinner, and would put what they ate in my bullet.
  14. I am 6months out and have lost a lot of hair in the last 2 months, so as bad as i want to color mine i haven't. But i also haven't used my curling iron, straightner either hoping to save my hair.
  15. i was all about sugar free popsicles
  16. I had no pre op diet at all, i was allowed to eat normally until 6pm the day before surgery and then nothing not even water after midnight.
  17. Doctor told we as soon as i was confortable, took me 2 weeks, tried sooner but i was still in too much pain.
  18. Dr Yancey, Chesapeake, Virginia. Chesapeake Regional Hospital is a Center of Exclence and Dr. Yancey is the head of the Bariartic Department. I don't know about his conversion rate. But he does offer a payment plan if you are self pay.
  19. I am 6months out eating between 800 and 1000 calories per day, averaging about 10lbs a month.
  20. I would stop by the cafteria when they are slow, if you explain your dietary needs they should be able to tell you what is available. That and they make food in the back for all kinds of special diets. they may be able to offer something that you don't see.
  21. I have told everyone. I was so excited i didn't care who knew, and still don't. So far i haven't got any negative feed back. I actually post each week how much i have lost on face book and i think it is great all the support i get from friends and family.
  22. I started at 407, lost 21lbs before surgery, and on surgery day was 386. I will be 6 months on the 21 September and i am at 314 now. I am really hoping to lose 7lbs to take me over to 100. and then i can't wait to get to 299!! Just 15lbs away, so exciting
  23. What about a curves or something similar that is women only. I joined the rec center where i am, it is cheap and i go during the day and there is never more than 2 or 3 other people there. I also did the YMCA (just can't afford it right now) and was always super friendly people there, and alot of them are there trying to lose weight, never felt judged.
  24. I have a place near me the skinny frog that always has 2 sugar free flavors and all of them are 99% fat free, super tasty treat that the family likes also
  25. Early out i didn't keep track of how much i walked. I had surgery on a Wednesday and on Monday when most of my family went back to work my Grandma started coming over everyday and walking with me or taking me shopping with her since i couldn't drive. The first few days grandma would out walk me and i would have to sit and rest, now i am up to 1.25-1.5 miles at 6 months out. Try to walk every other day and weights on the alternating days.
