  1. Size 8 too BIG!!!! I can't wait to see you!!! Thanks for the encouragement. The part that scares me is how out of control I feel when I start "binging". Reminds me that I really am a food adict, I don't like to admit that I don't have the strength to handle this on my own. I like to think I am a strong person, and it makes me feel weak. Oh well...my name is Sue and I AM a food adict...and I'm dealing with it and my band is just ONE of my tools! Sue
  2. Mer!!! Good Grief!!! Are you sure you're OK!?! How are you today? Don't atke any chances, get checked out ASAP if you think there is any problem. How bad is the car? I should be able to make it on Thursday, sure could use a good dose of "get back on the wagon" support after my vacation...I sure do eat BAD when I'm not home. I drove home from from Pullman tonight, left at 4:30, with no dinner, had some chips, dark chocolate covered almonds and a latte, never did actually have dinner, unless you count the ice cream bar! I used the excuse of "caffine to keep me awake while driving by myself" I think I'm gong to be sick...serves me right! I'll wieght in the AM, but the scale is up 5#'s tonight...Yikes!!! I've bounced the same 5#'s for 2 monthes now...I've got to get back on the wagon, I'm starting to feel depressed and defeated, and that what leads to the rebound with every diet I've ever been on. I'm getting worried about gaining it all back, I don't want to fail. :smile2: Sue
  3. Hey all... I've been in CA for the last week, so I was just catching up. I'm still in Pullman, visiting daughter for WSU mom's weekend. It's is so much easier to vacation now. Airplane seats and Disneyland rides...seats are a breeze...room to spare!!! I walked around the waterpark in a swimsuit, no problem! The biggest thing...I outlasted 4 TEENAGERS in Disneyland (1 big marathon day), I was still on my feet and going while they were collapsing! That says so much to me about the improvement in my general health, that's the real goal! Mer... Good to hear you're doing well, can wait to see you and your new tummy! Sue
  4. Hi all... Just talked to Wendy...the Grandbaby (Chloeigh Mae) is on the way! It's her firsts grandchild and I'm so happy for her. Say a prayer for Kris & Steven (Mom & Dad) that all will go well (and quickly). Sue
  5. Mer... Anxious to hear from you! Hope you're up and chatting soon, you're in my prayers Sue
  6. Mer... It's tomorrow...are you excited (like anyone is ever "excited" to go to surgery)...excited to get it overwith! What time is your surgery...is Dave still gone? Is Rachel going to take you? Sue
  7. Cheryl... What hospital does Dr. Mangubat work out of (or where is the office). Sounds like a really good situation to have a bariatric doc assisting. Was the gallbladder before your band or were your gallbladder problems a result of weight loss? I've had 3 gallbladder attacks in the last couple months, just wondering what your experience was with the issue. Good luck tomorrow! Sue
  8. Dawn... So hard to understand why. I will definitely keep your entire family in my prayers, and ask for God's peace for all. I will also pray for Him to guide you as to how you can support the family. Sue
  9. Mer... Looks like I'm going to miss this Thursday too...rats!!! My daughter has her awards night for Jr High soccer (Starting Varsity Goalie...way to go Taylor!) There are so many school events on Thurs PM's. Ahhh!, I just looked at my calendar, I fly out to Palm Dessert the following Thursday, then from there to Pullman (mom's weekend with my older daughter) the following Thursday. i just can't get a break :sneaky: Sue
  10. Welcome Cheryl... Congratulations! It's so good to hear from banders who have had great long term success. You'll be in my prayers on Thursday, keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I too would be interested in who your surgeon is and how you made that choice. I'm probably looking at a full lower body lift some day in the future. Sue
  11. Back to the grind victory #1... My daughter needed treats for her last soccer game...they had bags & bags of Dark Choc M&M's for 1/2 price!!! I stopped...I drooled...I walked by!!! I'm drooling now just thinking about it LOL!!! Sue
  12. I'm in the same boat, i was bouncing up and down 2#'s...this AM it was 5!!! Those last 4 were SO hard fought, I'm bummed...but I can't blame anyone but ME! Back to basic, shakes, protien first, and I'm considering a fill. I've been SO happy right where I am, but I think I've been so happy because I can eat so normal and I've trained myself to eat around it a little too much. All it takes is a few little slipps and thouse lbs come right back. I do need a fill  Why do those dark chocolate M&M's taste SOOOOO good! Sue
  13. Happy Easter to all... Anybody elses eat too much today? I sure did, and there'ss CHOCOLATE in the house!!!
  14. Dawn...Ouch! Been there too. We missed you, it was a good meeting. Mer... I'm afraid I can't be there on Thursday, my daughter has a Band concert at her Jr High...Yikes! I love to hear her play, but 1.5 hours in the bleachers for 5-10 minutes of her playing...I'd rather come to group...but I WILL be doing the mom thing. My back will be aching by the end of the night too! Sue
  15. Phyl... We visited last year for a week, spent part of it in LA & San Diego doing the parks with the kids. We're going to spend 1 day at Disney on our way in, but will have a little more time in PD. I'm actually hoping for warm weather. Before band I hated heat, but I'm alot more compfortable in the heat now that I've got all that extra insulation off of me! My kids are looking forward to the water park and the street fair, I'm also going to run them down to Mexico for a day, just for the experience. Sue
  16. Lise... Don't worry about a few pounds right after surgery. I came home almost 10Lbs up, they load you with fluid for surgery, and your sysatem will retain some fluids just after the trama of surgery. I dropped those extra lbs quickly after. Mer... Had fun thurs, always like to gab with people who can relate Sie
  17. Lise... Liquids were hard, but the 1st 2-3 days are the worst then it does get some better. It gives a great jump start for the weight loss! My fave things for protien drinks (we use the low-carb whey body-builder type) is to have chocolate, hot with coffee (instant or Internation Coffee type) with SF English toffee or ameretto, or the vanilla or lemon blended with frozen berries...and a teaspoon of peanutbutter blended in the chocolate is great! Mer... I just figured out this morning as DH was leaving for Canada that there is a meeting at my daughter's school at 6:30 tonight that I was going to pass off to him. I think it's the same-old same-old as the other 2 kids, but they have had a major change in their ciriculum since my last kid registered for 9th grade, so I'd better show up and see if there is anything new I need to know. Hopefully I can scoot out, but I will at least be late. What exit is the Borders? Sue
  18. Lise... CONGRATS!!! So glad you're doing well! Just take it easy. It's hard to hold back when you feel well, but you have had surgery, baby your body for a bit. No use finding your limits the hard way! Did you do any liquids before banding? I was on clears for 2 week prior and broth & shakes for 4 week after. Your lucky your doc lets you have shakes, broth got really old really fast! Sue
  19. Hey Phyl... I just decided to take my 2 kids down to Palm Dessert for spring break. My parents are going down for the month of April, so we thought it'd be fun (and warm) to go visit Sue
  20. WOW...big news on the PS How did you find him? What are his prices like in comparison to Oh and the others you've researched? Sue I should be able to make it next week to the meeting
  21. Hey Mer... How was the meeting last night? I was thinkn' bout u Sue
  22. Punkytres... Hi, yes there are others in your area. I'm in UP and Wendy is in Lakewood. We walk M/W/F and meet at the Lakewood Y on T/R. We've been walking at the Tacoma Mall, since the weather has been cold, but will hopefully be ourside soon. Weather permitting we like to walk at Chambers Bay or the Dog park @ Ft Steilacoom. We also go to the St Joe's Support group that meets the 3rd Monday of each month. Check Merillee's post for the group she's starting in GH, I'll be heading out there too. Love to meet you sometime...I could never do this on my own! Sue
  23. Mer... I'm always up for more support...maybe I just like to talk alot...who knows, but it all keeps my spirits/motivation up. Are you meeting every week? My son has a swim team awards party this Thurs, and my sweet boy told me "I know how important your group is too you, you don't have to come to the party." I quickly told him that group is very important to me, but he's even more important...big smile from my boy. I'll have to try for the next one. Sue
  24. Potatie... Welcome! Most Docs have pre-band education that includes what you'll be eating and meds to have on hand. Couple things off the top of my head: *Broth (Better Than Bullion s really good) *SF Jello *SF Popsicles *Liquid Tylenol (Adult) *Gas X (or similar) *Heating pad (really good on tummy or sholder pain) *SF Candies (Lifesaver's Wintergreen really refresh the mouth) *Protien Drinks (Champion Nutrition Chocolate is my Fave) *Magic Bullet (blending drinks & Food...a MUST!) I highly recommend getting involved in a support group, even before your surgery. There's nothing like getting support and advise from real life banders, you obviously understand that, that's why you're here. Congrats on Your decision, you won't regret it!!! Sue
  25. Sure would be nice to get a ball-park idea of both possibilities and cost, but might have to go for a consult to get any individualize estimate. Im sure going to be taking notes! See ya there! Sue
