  1. I was in the same boat with you. I did call and get an early appt to get band filled (about 2 weeks before first scheduled appt). I get hungry about two hours after I eat now. Keep it up...this time will pass before you know it. And the weight should be coming off fast for you?

  2. Thanks for the comments. To LovetheNewMe, your right, the protein shakes between meals is in my program until I hit my goal weight. What kind of Protein Bars do you eat? I cant wait to get in my green zone. Food is not having any trouble going down at this time but I take bites the size of my pinky nail and chew chew chew!! I think I am just scared to push it. Thanks for your encouragment:) I was down 3 lbs this week...Yay!!

  3. I think it is great you share your story. If anyone is considering Lapband they need to hear it all. I was just banded and have not had any issues but I applaude you for standing up and being on to tell it all! I wish you the best of luck and a fast recovery!!

  4. I think you are doing great!! I was down 27 lbs and in the last week have gained 2, talk about discouraging:( Your attitude about the band is right on!! It is a tool but food is a drug...we just have to fight it! Keep up the good work!

  5. I also have a little discomfort in the largers incision however it is not "very sore and painful" Maybe you should call you doctor today and just let them know. Then mention that your not getting full. I am having the same issues so I called and got am early appt to get a fill. Good Luck to ya's!!!

  6. Hang in there!!! I had my surgery on 4/24 and am only down 4 lbs since two days following surgery. I am being a bad girl and have been sneaking bites of meat. I told the drs nurse and she discouraged it but didn't forbid it. But I can't seem to get full. She scheduled me an early appt to get a fill. Hopefully your appt is early next week. I do moderate excercise on the days I hurt from the day before. Even standing in place burns calories and walking burns even more. Chin up!!

  7. I guess it has to happen for us to learn. I started eating (which I have done to early). Yogurt, pudding and oatmeal just are not filling me at all!! I felt like I was having no restrictions because I could eat a cup of pudding without problems. I felt my first restriction last night when I took a bite of hamburgar. Rather it was the hb or the bread...I don't know becasue I have heard both can be rough to eat. Sounds like you are still truckn' right along!!!

  8. I am a week post op and I had the tight feeling in my chest as well. I went to the doctor a couple days after surgery and had them let ot any pressure and saline that the band was primed with out. However I guess all the air and swelling has pretty well went away and I feel no restrictions and try to drink alot of water to stay full. But it was instant relief. I think us nurses are so use to giving the orders to people to take it easy its hard for us to obey orders ourselves...lol Take it easy and rest:)

  9. I had no idea they put in that much for the first fill:/ Eek! It's so exciting to hop on the scale and see the numbers go down!!! To "Weighty Wagey" that needle may be big but I had little to no discomfort. They numb'd the area up with lidocaine and that was the only discofort I had.

  10. I also do the Flinstone vitamins and I am not over the age of 50. I really would like to switch to gummies but doesn't look like thats going to happen. How are you eating? I am only a week out but do not feel much restriction....at all! I dropped weight faster a few weeks following the surgery. People at work would ask me how are you losing so much weight, "don't eat" lol!! Happy Healing!!!

  11. Today is a much better day after having surgery Tuesday but yes it is slow. I tried the gas ex yesterday evening...oh give it time and it will work!! lol I am not getting to far away from the house today, thats for sure. How is your pain? Did you think you should be getting around better by now or is this what you expexted? Good Luck!! I guess its something we muct take day by day:)

  12. Good Luck first and for most!!! I have surgery tuesday and it is a life change already being on the liquid diet. I know I have alot more to learn and work on but yes this blog is a huge support. I wish you the best of luck and just know as women we can accomplish anything we want to!!! Hats off to you:)

  13. Love the feedback....Please keep er comin'!! I am so excited but as the days near the ridicule from some is amazing. I am still sticking to my guns and staying strong! I understand people are concerned but if they would only realize how excited I am to be able to except a girls day to the beach with the kidos, or go to a waterpark and not be scared to wear a bathingsuit, then they would get it! I am super super excited to take on this challenge, with or without their support. Thats why this blog it nice to be a part of...support is great! Thanks for your comment!!
