10 months out and doing great!

I am 10 months out and I feel really good. I've lost about 67 #'s so far. I'm happy with where I am and I have enjoyed the journey along the way. I've had to change things, learn things and implement things so this journey has been very interesting and amazing. I am now jogging using c25k and it feels great. I'm loving my sleeve. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!! at my highest weight during weightloss
  2. I plateaued at 6 months and stayed there for about a month. I tweaked my diet a bit and the weight started coming off again. Just be patient. I was sleeved July 10, now down 62 #'s and very glad with my results.

    A really good NSV

The other day I was shopping at Goodwill and I was looking through some items and 2 older women were in the same isle. The first woman left and the second was pushing the cart so I moved closer to the clothes so that she could pass me. Well, when she passed she turned back to me and said "well, thank goodness your small" and she smiled. Can you believe someone actually called me small, WOW. I was really smiling on the inside to be called small for the first time in who knows how long. I still have about 50 #'s to lose so to be called small felt great. Here's to many more NSV's to come. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

    Cleaned out closet

After the shopping Friday, I cleaned my closet out Saturday. I got rid of a lot of clothes that I could no longer fit or sew to fit. I gave a lot away to ones who needed them. But man do I have so much more room in my closet, but enough shopping for now since I plan on losing another 50+ pounds. I'm excited about where I am today. And excited about where I will be in 4 months on my surgiversary in July. A Month before surgery 8 Months Post-Op

    Crystal light and protein powder

I have to give that a try, because I'm still not getting all my protein in everyday. Thanks for the idea.

    Finally had to Shop!

I have not shopped since I've had surgery because I've been sewing as I lose. But you can only sew so much. I started at a size 22/24 and I'm now 14/16 so I've sewed everything that I could and am now tired of sewing and can't take in any more material. I went to Goodwill and bought mostly size 14 skirts and a few 16's. It felt great to buy a smaller size, but since I'm not finished losing, Goodwill was a good buy. Didn't spend too much so I'm happy about that. Now to Keep Moving Forward!

    Advice please?!

Make sure you do exactly what your Dr. tells you. Follow instructions to the letter, don't try to rush things. Please make sure you enjoy your journey, every pound lost, every inch lost and even when there's a stall, sit back and think about all you have done and enjoy.
  8. Hi Zen, I agree with amy, it would really be uncomfortable to wear after surgery. I was told by my nurse that they didn't recommend those because of the type of surgery I had. So for this surgery you want to be as comfortable as possible to allow you stomach to heal. Hope this helps.

    6 Mnth progress

It has been 6 months since surgery and I'm doing really good. I have lost 51 #'s so far although I had a pretty long stall. It lasted about a month or so. I didn't worry about it because I knew it would be over and I would start losing again. I am now working on getting more water in as that is hard for me. I am in no rush with this weight loss as I did not put it on overnight and don't expect to lose it overnight. Of course it's coming off faster than it would have do to my tool so I'm happy with where I am at this point. I have started doing strength training and will focus on that for the time being so that I can tighten and tone up. I also want to lift my butt:) since I lost some of it. I'm so happy with my tool and will continue to work it to my advantage.

    My NSV

I attended a memorial for a friend this past Wednesday. It was a sad occasion, but really good to see old friends. Everyone I talked to told me how good I looked. It felt good to hear. None of those that I saw this week knew I had the surgery and I left it that way. Although I told one of my oldest friends as she just kept complimenting me. She said I looked like I did back in high school, what a compliment. I really felt good knowing that all my hard work is paying off. Yay for all the nsv's to come.

    Short Hair

I went natural over this past year and my hair grew really long to me, it was about shoulder length in the back. I just recently cut it all off as you see in my profile pic. by the way, I love short hair, so the long hair was out of character for me.
  18. I was sleeved 7-10-12 and have lost 50 #'s so far. I was in a crazy stall for a month or so. It just broke this week with a 5 # loss. It's about time, but I expected it and I'm glad it's over so now I can get on with getting the rest of this weight off.

    my crap

Here is one that copied from a cite. I hope it is helpful. Remember these are basic guidelines, so you are going to have to apply them as you feel the need and maybe even tweak them a little bit. Important Diet Guidelines: 1. Eat 3 meals per day. Avoid snacking and grazing. 2. Eat small amounts. Initial portion size should be no more than 1 - 2 ounces - approximately 2 - 4 Tablespoons - of food per meal for the first month. At first you may not be able to tolerate this amount. Over time, you will slowly tolerate more volume at each meal. Long term, the stomach will eventually hold about 4 - 8 ounces (1/2 - 1 cup) of food per meal. 3. Eat Protein foods first. 4. Do not try to eat food and drink liquid together. • Consume liquid 30 to 60 minutes before and/or 30 to 60 minutes after eating meals but not during meals. 5. You are required to take a multi-Vitamin with minerals for the rest of your life. 6. Eat slowly! • Each meal should last 30minutes or longer. • Avoid gulping foods and drinks. • All foods must be well-chewed to a paste consistency. • Using a small fork or spoon (i.e. baby utensils) can help control portion sizes. • Have one place to eat (such as at the table) and avoid reading or watching TV while you eat. This helps you to enjoy your food, concentrate on eating slower and to realize when your stomach is full. 7. Drink plenty of calorie-free, non-carbonated, caffeine- free fluids between meals. • Drink slowly-sip fluids, never gulp. • Calorie-containing beverages should be limited to skim milk and Protein Drinks. • Limit juice to no more than 4oz. per day. • Consume zero-calorie beverages throughout the day.
