  8. i think i just want this for me - and not anyone or anything else. i think i'm sick and tired of always putting everyone first and now before i'm decrepid, i want something that will make me feel better about me!
  9. not me - i was, but i had a last minute phone call and i missed it. next time!
  10. Hi to everyone! I hope to be joining you all on May 22nd - I am 56 and in dire need of the sleeve. I've gone thru the 6 month dance with my insurance company, and yesterday I heard the they are denying me because of a missed line on a letter from my PCP. My surgery scheduler said to not get worried until tomorrow, because I freaked out and FAXed over a new letter in 10 minutes, so it may still go thru. My surgeon is taking the month of June off, so if I can't have the date of the 22nd, I have to wait until July - and my boss takes 2 weeks off in that month every year...so it could get pushed to August - Grrrr. I am so ready for this. Also - I will only be able to take off one week (and a day, thanks to Memorial Day) and then I must be back to work - what do you guys feel about that? Were you ready to go back in a week? I have a mostly computer job - my boss sits about 30 feet from me, and my co - workers are all together in my "pod" so I won't have to walk very far to get my job done. I have a lovely boss and wonderful co-workers so I'm sure it will not be stressful to come back. What do you think? Am I being crazy to do this so quickly? Also, I get REALLY bored at home. I hate daytime TV and I tend to clean my house and do the laundry when I am sick anyway.
  11. Denied because my PCP (who is a WONDERFUL Doctor) when she wrote my referral letter didn't say "I recommend bariatric surgery." She's written about 6 letters for this approval and never had one turned down. Now, it's 8 days until my sleeve date and they are trying to deny it. Thank the gods, my surgeons office has been thru this before with cigna!
  12. I got my bento box ready - thanks to egg face!
  13. Cigna just turned me down after a 6 month wait - so they may have cut the wait time, but they will still play hardball with their approvals! I (or my surgery scheduler) re-submit yesterday.
  14. congrats on the weight loss - and I hope the protein challenge gets better every day!
  15. i start my pre-op on Thursday - only 5 days before. I am able to have 3 or 4 protein drinks, sf jello, pudding and youghurt. .5 C of cream of wheat or rice a day. That's it. But at least mine is only for 5 days. How are you both doing on your pre-ops?
  16. Hi scgirl - i'll be one of your sleeve day twins! So looking forward to the 22nd. I am starting my pre-op diet on the 17th. When are you starting yours?
  17. i gained 5 lbs the last month of my 6 month wait. The dr didn't say a thing. I start my pre-op diet on Thursday. I think you'll be good. I get sleeved 5/22.
  18. Officially, I love you Mom Scholar!
  19. hi all - tomorrow is my last dr appt - I see the nut, the insurance person and the surgeon. Also I am scheduled to take a 2 hour "Getting to know what to expect" class, this is in addition to the monthly "sleeve talk" meetings. I am taking the whole day off for this marathon. I've been working this for the insurance company since December and I really can't wait for this to be done and I am sleeved on May 22nd. I think I will be on a 2 week liquid diet since my family had a long history of fatty livers. I'm scared but truthfully, more than that I am so looking forward to the life changing act that I am about to do. I'm an older chick, but I don't want to wait another minute to start to this change my in life. Only the best to all my fellow May sleevers. Onward and (well, I would say upward, but for this I'll say) downward (scale-wise, I mean).
  20. i'm rdei on myfitnesspal so if you want to add me, i'd be psyched
