  1. I was told no popcorn! Maybe because of the previous post saying it slides right through! uh oh.
  2. Hi mrsteacher! I am about 20 weeks out myself. My surgery date was March 19th & I had my VSG done in Mexico. I am bad about exercising. I hate it!!! Have not done much at all. My starting weight was 235 and I weighed in at 175 this morning. I am so excited. You will reach onederland soon! Keep up the good work. I teach at a local college and had the summer off too. Seems harder back at work cause the other instructors wanna bring snack foods all the time! I did not tell any co-workers that I had surgery because I hate being judged! Sliding into a pair of size 12 slacks feels amazing!

@LzL ....it will come with time. I did not have the 30 lbs per month loss either and had days I thought "I will fail at this as well". But I didn't fail! I am now 5 months out and down 60 lbs. I weigh 175 pounds now! I have not seen that number in 20 years. I tell myself if I had lost these 60 lbs in 3 months I would just have more loose flabby skin, but today I am totally happy in my body! Keep your chin up.
  4. I did get a RX for Nexium, but my insurance is debating whether or not they will cover it!
  5. I had reflux before my sleeve, but it was controlled with Prilosec. Post-sleeve it is horrible. No lie, I take several pills a day, plus keep tums in hand at all times. I have never had a hernia just bad GERD. My friend who never had reflex prior to her sleeve has it bad post-sleeve. My dr says it may take a year to resolve and is due to delayed gastric emptying. I can no longer have tea or coffee :-(
  6. I had surgery March 19th & I am down 56 lbs. yes I want to lose more, but if we lost it any faster it wouldn't be good on our bodies. Keep up the good work! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. U look great! I'm enjoying my own success as well. I started at 235 and now I'm 179. My surgery was March 19th. I know I could never have done this without my sleeve! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  10. My surgeon said I should eat no more than 800-1000 cals/day at 1 yr out. I am only 10 weeks out and stay at 800/day most days.
  11. I dropped 2 more pounds. Now at 197! So super excited. I was at a plateau at 203 for almost 3 weeks! I didn't wanna let it get to me, but ya know we are all obsessed with the number on that scale!
  12. IT feels amazing! I am so happy this morning!! Down 36 pounds in 9 weeks.
  13. I went to Piedras Negras, Mexico and Dr. Alvarez was my surgeon. I had to pay cash myself because insurance refused. I paid $8700 which was $10k cheaper than the US. I had no problems whatsoever and Dr. A and his staff are outstanding! There are cheaper places, but Juarez sounds scary if you look online. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. A to anyone. My best friend went to him 1 month after I did!
  14. you look amazing! I am stuck! I am only 8 weeks out, but have been at the same weight for 2 weeks! I am not religious about keeping a food diary, but I am pretty good about getting all my protein. I honestly cannot eat more than about 5 or 6 bites each meal so I don't know what the problems is. I try to stay away from carbs all together. I have a bum knee and it is difficult for me to get much exercise in. Any suggestions???
  15. I am at 203.8 and want to be in ONE-derland so bad! Congrats!
  16. You won't be eating enough to cook anyway. Maybe 1 scrambled egg or a package of tuna. That's it & I'm not exaggerating! I am 7 weeks post sleeve. Down 30+ pounds and soooo many inches! I still can't get in 64 oz of water. My stomach is too small. Lol. Sounds funny to say that. 5 more pounds to one-derland!!!
  17. You can do it! I bought 3 new dresses yesterday, size 14! Do you know how many years it has been since I've done that. Wore a new pair of capris last week, size 12! It is worth it.
  18. I had my sleeve with Dr. Alvarez on march 19th. Everything positive u hear about him is true! He is amazing. I have done wonderful with my sleeve. My best friend took followed my lead and had her sleeve on April 19th. There are no negatives about a decision to go to Dr. A in Piedras! Good luck!
  19. I had VSG on march 19th by Dr. Alvarez in Piedras. He is amazing! I am 44 & have been over weight 25+ years. I wanted a final weight loss solution! I have a grandson due May 30th and I want to see him grow up. I can tell you that I am pleased and overjoyed about my decision. I am trying to stay off the scales, but I am down about 20 lbs already. That includes the 8 I lost doing a 7 day liquid diet prior to surgery. I am excited & loving life! I don't wake up hungry! The first thing I think of is what Protein do I need? Not "what fast food Restaurant can I drive through on the way to work?"
