  1. I will be one year on January 7th. I have figured out that my stomach finds it the hardest to digest pork and chicken.....even dark meat. I threw up after 3 well chewed bites of pork ribs on New Years...boohoo. Yet, I can digest fish and beef perfectly. K would think it would be the opposite. I started drinking diet coke again and eating candy, but never in the amount I used to. I read the threads and feel bad for people who beat themselves up or deny themselves because everything will be okay. My goal is to give up dc again because I do believe it triggers bad food choices and becomes my drink instead of Water. So........what is your difficult food item to digest and what remains your weakness at 1 year surgerversary?

Is 50 Pounds In 6 Months Super Slow?

I am sure glad I returned to the vsg forum! You guys brought a lot of things out to think about. Each of you has valid and thoughtful explanations. My days will be much brighter now because of you:-)
  3. What are your thoughts to the above question? Also, my nutritionist said she has sleeve patients who are a year out and who have only lost 15 pounds (she says that they choose all the wrong foods). Do you believe her?
  4. So do you think it is possible to ruin your sleeve, like it will not do its job anymore? (Ex. If you've been making not so good food choices (candy mainly and not in moderation) or is that just silly talk?)

    Weight Loss Cookbook Recommendations

I use Cooking Light which one of the books calls for 5 ingredients or less. I also came upon a magazine called Clean Eating that is really awesome! You can find both at the grocery store.
  6. In the course of your journey did you ever relapse and have to get back on track?
  7. I think it also has the goal in mind to make you feel fuller longer otherwise the liquid helps slide the solid food through faster than it normally would. I guess doing the two together can also cause a false sense of fullness or vice versa.
  8. Before surgery when I would get sick, even when I was a kid, I would puke a waterfall and the sound effects could be heard from the other side of the house. The intensity was powerful. I haven't thrown up since surgery except for 2 times, both when I overate. My question is why doesn't. The puke come out like it used to (all at once?) It isn't like my throat shrunk. I just think it is weird!

    I Need A Sports Bra!

I noticed SPANX now sells a sports bra. I wonder how good it is? There is nothing worse the flying boobies while running and jumping!

    I Blew It Today!

I don't think you blew it at all! Before surgery you would have probably eaten the whole fritter and maybe a 2 or 3 more. I would say you did a fine job of controlling and limiting yourself. You did right by not denying yourself a sweet sensation. I would change your title to "I Finally Did It!" (Meaning controlled yourself)

    Body Odor?!

My pee smells like my orange celebrate multi vitamin or an old medicine cupboard. Lmao....tmi.
  12. I just wanted to know if there are people who fell off the wagon and felt that they had ruined their sleeve or felt it was not working anymore. Can that happen? I would like to hear from people who did lil miss diva's boot camp or the pouch 5 day plan even though we don't have pouches. Did you feel a big difference? Oh, and is it true that some surgeons do tighter sleeves than others or is this a myth?
  13. Yes, why is it that sugary items like candy go down so well? I don't have issues with anything either but I tnink I am done with my sugar binge. It doesn't give me the same pleasure that it used too. I am 3 months as of March 16th. Sometimes I think my sleeve doesn't work but as soon as I eat meat like chicken I get that feeling where I am getting full. It's like the sleeve knows what you are eating but will not stop you from eating unhealthy foods. For those who think the sleeve is an easy way out, this definitely challenges me to stay on track! The weight loss is still in my hands.
  14. Hi, I contemplated surgery for almost 5 years. At first I thought about getting the lapband but never did. Then after 4 years of fluctuating weight I started researching again and found the sleeve. I never thought about it the way you described although I did feel like I was cheating.......but I knew I could not do it by myself. food is a sickness I think. Think of it this way, your surgeon will be accomplishing the surgery, but it is still you who will accomplish the weight loss. Your surgeon can't control you after you go home. Your sleeve cannot control you either. You will still be the main accomplisher, I promise! I will be 3 months on April 17th and I have accomplished a lot and give the credit to myself. You will make the right decision for yourself with time. Just remember what they say about the sleeve being a tool. You are in charge of what the sleeve accomplishes.

    Aetna Requirements

Just want to apologize Delta. While your thread was pretty harsh, perhaps I deserved it. I am happy that you were approved and again I am sorry if my words came across as negative since it was not my intention. I just didn't want you to be denied, that's all. Sincerely, YoshiKitty
