  1. All right girly that is awesome! Now if u r comfortable I would love to see pics...what an inspiration for us:)
  2. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I am only 16 days post op so my experience is very short. In the beginning I was debating between the 2 surgeries also. I knew a lot of people that got the bypass done so I talked to a lot of them. Here is what i learned. I know 6 people who are 3 to 12 years post op bypass. 5 of the 6 people gained at least 60% of the weight back. 3 regretted doing it the other 2 said they wish they would have followed the doc diet guidelines. Then 1 person loves it and is very successful she will tell u she does everything her doctor says otherwise she would not b successful. The bypass is not full proof nore is the sleeve. Everyone has different results just like no pregnancy is the same. Make sure you are educated the best you can b for the surgery and ask ask ask as many people as u can about them all....good luck!
  3. I am so happy you guys posted this. I am 2 weeks post today and just feeling a little sad. Nothing big but usually I am so happy so this is new. Maybe ill call my surgeon tomarrow and see what he says. I love this forum!
  4. No prob Katie! We all have to stick together! Remember to take it easy. It is major surgery That is what my husband tells me everyday. Now if you will excuse me I'm going to go move a heavy dresser then run a 5K. Ha!
  5. I have pain...and still do 2 week post op tomarrow. In fact today after walking I hurt so bad that I had to lay down for a couple hours. I like you comment about contracting and moving because I told my husband it hurt so bad I swear it moves every time I move. Of course he laughs at me When I went to my surgeon he told me the reason it hurts so bad is because they bang and bruise us up in there and all that is so tender. I still cringe every time i laugh or sneeze because I know it is going to hurt so bad.
  6. What did your doc say at your yearly? I was just curious to hear his reaction...
  7. Wow! You look amazing! Good for you...
  8. I went to pureed and had to go back to liquids. Just to uncomfortable...anyway I noticed when I was drinking my water today that without realizing it I wasn't sipping I was taking pretty big drinks. Was anyone told to always sip or at some point were you told you can drink normal...I just kind of freaked out today. Like I said I have no problems getting fluids down...i just kind of stopped sipping somewhere

Ironically I was in the exact dame boat as u. I even almost got dehydrated because I was scared to drink water. I followed my docs diet to a t....it was all liquid. Then on wed 5.9.12 the doctor told me I was pretty much out of the woods for that. I was 9 days post op...he explained that my stomach being stapled was like rubber band ...instead of leak it would kind of bounce (I'm not describing it in doc terms..sorry) so he said u won't hurt it you will throw up before any of that.

  11. These Are the Days of Our New Drain Free Lives ;p
  12. Keep in mind everyone heals and has different stressors in their life. Before surgery I asked my doc how long he thought till I felt 'good' again. He said tops a week, bless his little heart for having so much faith in me but I am out day 10 today and i can do about 3 hours of light housework then have to sit for 30 minutes or so to rest. My definition of good is not needing to rest in between, but that is just because I didn't need that before. And I also don't want to hurt myself either
  13. Lol..well I guess I m slow...I'm 9 days out and still a little swollen
  14. Excellent question...I was wondering the dame thing..
  15. Ill let someone else explained it to u..
  16. That is awesome!!! Amazing the small hills we climb
  17. OK the feeling is so hard to explain. Mine was very uncomfortable like yours. I mean miserable. If it got touched once it hurt do bad. I personally thought it was a very odd uncomfortable borderline painful thing It really isn't painful, but it still kind of is. Just breath out when they r doing it..good luck...u will b able to relax do much once it is out
  18. Thanks for the reply..i have my appointment tomarrow. I am so scared he is going to put me in the hospital too. R u having a hard time getting fluids down?
  19. I have a silly question...how did he know u were dehydrated...
  20. I'm one week post op today and I am so tiered. Even when i get all my nutrients...anyone else feel this way? When in the heck is it going to go a way!

  22. I had 4 sips of lemonade last night and it didn't taste that great I was kind of happy about that ill stay away from those then thanks so much!
