Just wanted to share that I just got off the phone with my hematologist and he has finally given me clearance for surgery, he was a bit hesitate since I do have anemia because of my lupus but feels its under control and since i'm getting the sleeve and not the bipass he is ok with saying "She is cleared for surgery".. I almost cried cause I really thought this was going to be the one thing to hold me back from surgery.. Now I only have my psych and nutritionist appt left on June 19th so hopefully I'll have a date Soon!! Sent from my SPH-D710 using VST

Lol.. It's funny cause I got this from my mom that was very opinionated when I mentioned my decision to get wls.. "your not that big" "you look ok" And just the other day we went out to dinner and she commented on me looking thinner than the last time she'd seen me.. Really!!? I'm the same weight I was when I decided this, I haven't lost but might have gain 1_2 lbs.. So I don't know if she said that to make me feel like I can do it on my own but it didn't work I seen rite thru the BS.. Lol I've made my decision and i'm sticking to it!! I've decided to tell my kids and boyfriend first and they are very supportive, then I told my sister and best friend over drinks and they are completely supportive to the point, that they both said "we are all overweight if it works for you then we might jump onboard!! ".. But then I told my mom and there came the negative comments and asking why.. I just told her that I wasn't telling her for her negativity, I was just informing her of my decision cause at the end of the day its your life, health and body no one else.. so after that experience I decided to not to tell anyone else.. HELLO EVERYONE, WELL AS IV'E SAID BEFORE I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LUPUS AND MANY OTHER AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES SO I NEED CLEARANCE FROM CERTAIN SPECIALIST TO HAVE SURGERY. I'VE GOTTEN CLEARANCE FROM MY PRIMARY, HEMATOLOGY, AND RHEUMATOLOGIST. NOW I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT MY GASTROENTEROLOGY SPECIALIST WAS ON BOARD AFTER MY CONSULT APPT LAST WEEK AND NOW I CALL THE SURGEON'S OFFICE TO CONFIRM PAPER WORK AND SHE TELLS ME THAT HE SENT A LONG LETTER STATING THAT HE WILL NOT SIGN OFF UNLESS I GO THROUGH TWO MONTHS OF TAKING MIRALAX AND METAMUCIL FOR CONSTIPATION. THIS IS SOMETHING I'VE DELT WITH ALL MY LIFE.. SO MY QUESTION IS.. HAS ANYONE HAD TO DO THIS? CAUSE I FEEL THAT HE'S DELAYING PROGRESS FOR TWO MONTHS FOR NOTHING!! JUST A LIL FUSTRATED.. THANKS FOR LISTENING TO MY RANT! LOL

Hello everyone.. I've been a member since March when I decided to go forward with the surgery. I thought it was time to introduce myself and my story. My name is Sandy and i'm 35yrs old. A mother of two 16 and 11, I've been struggle with my weight since my son was 3yrs old. I've tried everything under the sun including weight watchers where in 98_99 I was able to lose 75lbs. That I later gained back as soon as I became pregnant with my second. I was recently diagnosed with Lupus, Sjogrens, Anemia, Fibromyalgia and many more crap.. I'm on many medications that have contribute to my weight staying or going up from 242 _ 255.. I've research the sleeve and I finally made the decision to meet with a surgen. He agreed that the sleeve was the best option because of my Anemia so if you have medicare the sleeve will be covered if you can prove that it is more beneficial than the gastric bypass.. You're surgen should be able to fight for you, I know mines is fighting.. Had my initial consultation on May 18th and that same day started my pre_op testing..
