I look at it this way: Luke was a physician and God used him. Why give man intellect and not let him use it? God doesn't work that way. A friend of mine had the surgery and her pastor told her (in front of alot of people) that she had no faith and should consider "deliverance from the gluttony spirit". I convinced to find another church.
I thought only the enemy would condemn. Jesus did not die so we would fall on condemnation from others.

I was out today looking for a mug warmer when my hubby said, why don't you use the Mrs. Tea as your warmer. You can make your drinks then keep them warm.
Cool idea; have not used my Mrs. Tea in 5 years. Now, if I can find it in the garage....

Being transported to Florida from NJ, I had never had grits until I moved here. I love, love, love them and am glad we can have them post-op.

But at 4 months out, I've lost 71 pounds since surgery. All totaled 101 lbs. I've gone from size 24 pants and 3X top to size 12/14 pants and a size medium top; size 48DDD bra to a 36 C.
It was worth losing more than half the "twins", my butt, and some of my hair. Such a small price to pay. So, hang in there, newbies. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I wanted to be 199 ( Onderland ) by Dec. 25...today is Dec. 23 and I am 198. What a wonderful Winter Onderland ! Nearly 10 weeks out and I've lost ( since surgery ) 40 pounds.

My doctor said some people lose weight first, then inches; that men usually lose the weight first.. I lost inches and not really much weight itself. Today is my 2 month "surgiversary" and I've only lost 35.6 pounds since the surgery. I have a lot of big clothes, though I did have to donate some big pants and tops. I am getting gift certificates for Christmas, so I will go clothes shopping then.

It was slow going for me with the solids. My surgeon said no liquor for a year. Since I don't drink, I didn't care.
It seems like I have more Protein from shakes than from the solids. I just can't handle more than 1 1/2 oz. of meat per meal. I try, but it's a no go.

I was playing around over the weekend, trying to find some uses for the Protein Powder.< /p>
I took 1/3 cup strong de-caf coffee, 1/3 cup almond milk, 1 scoop Protein powder, 4 ice cubes. Threw it all in my Ninja and, voila, I loved it and so did the kids (they had to "test" mine first).

I can't wait to stop hearing "My, you got fat!"

I simply have trouble with all capsules; none of mine can be emptied into applesauce, etc. It always feels like they are "stuck". I am still taking chewable vitamins and Calcium. The rest of my meds are small. The coq10 is the worst. So, ther nurse tole me to get alpha (something) but that is a capsule too. I haven't gotten to the fish oil pills. I am not looking forward to this. Wondering if it ever gets better. I am 5 weeks out.

I do. I also count them as fluids. I am one month out and can only handle 1.5 oz of Protein per meal. The surgeon told me, yesterday, there is no schedule - you will know when you can handle more; and to keep up the shakes.< /p>

Shewolf143: I think you are fine. Each of us loses differently. I had my surgery Oct. 12th so, far I have only lost 15 pounds. I have not cheated, but I am losing lots of inches. I am not going to stare at my scale and get depressed. You shouldn't either, The smaller clothing sizes make me happy. I am a 20 and not a 24 anymore.

Well, I am 3 weeks out today and have lost 15 pounds so far, but I have gone down 2 pants sizes and 2 shirt sizes. I saved a pair of jeans that were my favorite (pre-super obese days) and By the time I tried them on, they were too small. Just gonna have to try and get a new pair.

Went for my 12 day follow-up today. They told me it was the internal stitches in the muscle hurting and give it a couple more weeks.
