  1. OH my goodness! That is so wonderful and crazy! I think I may have posted this before on something else but It really is unbelievable. I will never make that.
  2. You have a leak at 7 weeks out? Have you been nauseous or running a fever? I'm so sorry to hear this. I sure will pray for you. Sorry you are having to go through this.
  3. Your post always scare me to death!!! I've been reading for months now. I'm really so happy you are ok and doing better! I'm 6 weeks out and I think of you often and wondered how you were doing. The hell you have been through is unbelievable. I still constantly worry about a leak. I've never thrown up though at all since surgery and I just pray all the time about this terrible complication. No one deserves to go through what you have. I wonder if when we don't have to worry anymore. I've heard of people having leaks 7 months out. Although, very rare, they do happen. Again, I'm so glad you are ok. God Bless!!
  4. Yes! I had the exact same pain for about 3 weeks post op. Eventually, it will get better. It was worse when I drank cold things. I would keep my water at room temp. I also started mixing Gatoraid G2 in with my water and that is what saved me. It help so much to keep me hydrated. Try that when you get home. I hope you feel better soon. It will go away but I know that doesn't ease the pain now. It hurt terribly! God Bless!
  5. So so sorry. Please keep us updated. Prayers going up for you.
  6. Congratulations! That is awesome!
  7. Yeah, I'm a member of the May Sleevers on Facebook. Good page! Only thing is most people don't come back to this forum.... LOL I love this forum and eventhough I'm on facebook, I keep coming back here!
  8. Try increasing your calories. If you can, it will help you to lose more. You may not be eating enough for your body to let go of more pounds. It is really hard to do but I've found that the scale keeps moving if I try to get in at least 800 calories. Sometimes I know I don't make that and I will have a stall. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. I started with back pain on my left side that radiated to the side and front at 2 1/2 weeks out. I'm 4 weeks post op and JUST started getting some relief. I know when I was in for my 1 week post op appointment there were ladies that had terrible back pain. I didn't at the time but it caught up to me and it always got worse with activity. I think it is just the muscles healing. I have my one month post op tomorrow and I'm going to ask the surgeon. I hope you feel better soon!
  10. You are doing awesome!! I love reading your menus. Gives me ideas of what I can eat when I get two months out. I was one month on Monday. I'm having left side pain and go to see my surgeon tomorrow. No other symptoms just pain. Hope it is just a muscle. I'm so ready to be able to exercise more. Great job!! Keep posting!
  11. I haven't tried ice but heat. I will try the ice too. I will start stretching and see if that helps. Thank you so much.
  12. Thanks Spatters. Yes, I am taking my temp with a thermometer. Seems like 10 times a day because I'm so paranoid! My digestion has been doing fine and I'm drinking water and gatoraide G2 low sugar all the time. Thank you so much for your prayers. This is why his baffles me so much. I have no other symptoms and seem to be doing everything right.
  13. Thank you. I am drinking water and peeing ok. All clear. I thought about that too but I think I'm drinking enough.
  14. Thank you so much Marie. I hope all I need is muscle relaxers. That would be great. Thanks for your kind words.
  15. Thanks Dorrie. I was never given a binder so I've never worn one. My stomach was taken out on my right side. That's why I'm wondering why the left side hurts. I do have insurance through my husbands work but they exclude wls and I don't think they will pay for complications. I do see my surgeon on Thursday for my 1 month follow up. Just hoping I don't have to go into the hospital.
  16. I wrote last week about my upper left side pain. I still have no fever or nausea. Actually, I feel great except for this very BAD pain in my upper left side. It started in my back and moved around on my side and a little in the front of my body. It hurts worse when I'm up and around and walking makes it WORSE! At night when I'm lying down, I hardly feel it at all. Heating pad helps during the day as long as I'm not moving around. As soon as I start moving the pain gets worse. I've heard all kinds of reasons why I may be having this pain. GAS is one and I can assure you it isn't gas. I keep hoping and thinking that maybe it is the muscle that has a deep stitch in it. Although, my stomach was taken out on my right side and my right side doesn't hurt. My incisions are healed. The pain gets worse when I take a deep breath. I can sit up and take a deep breath easier then if I'm sitting back in a chair. I can breath very deeply even though it hurts to do so, so I think my lungs are ok. I called the surgeon's office again last week and moved my appointment up. They couldn't take me until Thursday and I'm just sitting waiting to see him. All kinds of horrible things are going through my mind. What if I have a leak??? Maybe there is a leak and I'm just not going to run a fever. Maybe they damaged my spleen during surgery? But why did it take three weeks to start hurting?? I was fine the first three weeks except for the horrible pain in the middle of my chest that finally went away. Now this. I'm so scared and worried about this. I've read so many horrible stories about leaks. MY WORSE FEAR!!!!! I am four weeks post op today. I feel great except for this pain. I don't want to go to the ER unless I'm very sick with fever or nausea. I guess I'm not really looking for answers from anyone. I'm just trying to figure this out in my head and it helps to type it all out. I am regretting my surgery as of right now. I'm so tired of worrying about possible complications. I was self pay and will be paying for this surgery for the next three years because my insurance won't cover it. I'm currently laid off work and my husband is working so hard for us as it is. I know if I have to go into the hospital, my insurance won't cover it. I would appreciate any prayers you guys could do for me. I need prayer. Thanks for reading. I guess I will know Thursday what I need to do. I'm afraid he may pass it off as being a muscle. If your stomach is taken out on the right side would they stitch the left deep in the muscle?? So many questions... :'( Anyone else have this?!?!?! I've asked before but has anyone had this and if so, what was the outcome?

  18. I wonder that same thing! The article didn't really say what happened. She could have had a blockage and didn't know it.
  19. I've lost 34 and I'm 3 1/2 weeks out. Of course 15 was preo and 19 post op.
  20. Wow... awesome job!
  21. Woke up this morning just worrying about leaks and strictures. I know that I can't do anything to prevent them at this point but I so pray to the good Lord that I don't get a leak. I'm 19 days out of surgery and find myself wanting the days to go by faster so I can be out of the danger zone. I'm so scared of this complication. I know I had a lot of swelling after surgery and they did a leak test but I also know that the test could be a false negative for a leak because of all the swelling. I still have pain in the top middle of my chest. Everytime I swallow I can hear what I'm drinking going down my sleeve. It makes awful noises. I keep hoping this will go away with time but when I hear it I think "Is my sleeve too tight?","is the chest pain I'm feeling now the start of a leak?". I've been having left side pain for days now but no fever or nausea. Ahhh... I know I just have to have faith and stop worrying. Just one of those days today.
  22. Your weight gain is from the IV fluids. Don't worry, it will go away soon!
  23. Thank you everyone! It really does help me knowing things are progressing normally.
  24. Thanks! Yes, we need to be buddies and talk everyday! I guess I'm just worried about everything right now. Strictures, leaks.. etc. I'm a worry wart! I don't like it and I'm sure I drive people crazy on this site...lol BUT.. I don't mean too. I do so appreciate all the info people can give me. Right now, everything I try to eat does feel like it is coming back up and I have acid reflux more since starting this stage. Left side pain too. Although, I did call the Dr. and he said use a heating pad and see if that makes it better. It is better somewhat. I guess I'm just ready to feel better and get past the complication stage. Thanks again and keep in touch with me to let me know how you are doing.
