  1. I hate auto correct! Lol calfs
  2. I believe so inave seen research that kids would rather have one arm then be fat, but I can't blame them. people r mean to fat people. I'm at my heaviest I have been in about 4 yrs and at 180lbs I'm treated differently. It doesn't matter how healthy I eat or how physically active I am I get the comments all the time like "I don't understand how a vegetarian keeps on weight" or I'm compared to other fat people, or. I had I guy tell me how big my calfs were the other day! People r mean to big girls! May 9 th can't come soon enough!
  3. Thanx for sharing I'm also a vegan you have given me hope that I can do this and remain true to my health and my passion for animals..keep up the good work

  6. My surgery is also May 9th. Pre op labs and appt is May 3rd start liquid Diet in 8 days! Right now I'm on a last meal mission, totally stupid behavior but what the hell! Good luck to all we an do this!
  7. I got approved for my loan and I'm scheduled for May 23! I'm so nervous, five weeks feels like forever! I don't meet with the Doc until 17 May. I have a bunch of questions like when should I stop taking my OTC and prescription NSAIDs prior to surgery is it one or two weeks? Any thoughts oh and why do I need a chest X-ray what does being fat have to do with my lungs? I exercise and swim regularly...hmmm inquiring minds?
  8. I love your spirit...we need more Docs like you! Good luck on your journey!
  9. Georgia girl, don't be afraid to try some simple tofu recipes like my favorite, tofu egg salad. Now I'm not banded yet but I think this might be easy for the band.b/ c it's soft. If u have a food processor take about. 2 celery stalks 2 carrots 2 green onions 1/2 green pepper and chop them up I use the bean sprouted tofu. 3 oz packs 12g of protein. Oh but crumble up the whole block. Then ad some mustard, I like honey Dijon, vegan aisle, and relish. I ad a little bit of pepper and thyme mix up and eat! It taste better the next day. Now most of my recipes are by taste. Not good with measurements but google some tofu salad recipes. Also I have a via mix blender but any super high power blender will work. Start drinking your veges. Just don't be shocked at how good u will feel. Its very cleansing for your body! When I started juicing regularly my skin became baby soft it was amazing! I'm pre op, and the nutritionist I'm working with is asking me for vegan recipes and I'm allowed to juce as many veges as i want, i just have to watch the amount of fruit since of course that is where all the calories come from. Back to the salad. If the finely chopped veges are to much try the salad without. Let me know your thoughts good luck. I'm waiting to be approved for a personal loan than I can finally schedule this thing and get started back to good health. I'm tired of being fat!
  10. I'm going into this as a vegan and the possibilities are endless. Start googling by a vege cook book. Many resources out there. Thank for your choice to go vege...it's better for your health the animals and our earth!
  11. The one good thing about self pay is that I don't have to go through all that insurance crap which to me is worth it!
  12. I'm self pay in DC I'm paying 15k out of pocket financing 10k. Since I'm the first self pay they have ever had in the clinic they do not participate in the GE care card program so had to take out a personal loan. The cost includes. One year of fills, 23 hr of hospital stays and 4 f/up visits. I'm hoping to my $ next week so I can schedule surgery. Although do to the insanity of my job and my limited amount of leaving I'm not scheduling until end of May. I'm so anxious I just want to get started with ,y new life.
