  1. I love the jar idea. My rewards have been geared towards taking care of me pedicures, manicures, hair cuts, dye jobs, threading, new earrings are some of the ones I've done so far. Another idea someone had given me was to put aside a set amount of money per pound and use that for new clothing budget.
  2. I would like to join too! CW. 226.6 GW 210 I have been losing slowly recently Goals 64 oz in daily & increase Protein intake Start working out - so tired that I haven't started yet
  3. But they were a litle loose 16s will be coming up soon. Excited since day of surgery I was in 24s and couldn't shop in old navy.
  4. The reason I went thru Oband was my insurance covered everything except for the co pays with nutritionist and psychologist and anastesiogist - total out of pocket for me was less than $300. My friend had surgery the same time as me with Dr Hanna also in Vegas her out of pocket was higher (same ins as me) but he offers samples of Vitamins and Proteins and support groups that he personally runs every other month along with a support group ran by a bariatric nurse monthly. I've crashed his support groups because I need the extra support and follow up that he provides to his clients. With Oband I feel like most of my support has been on here and with dr hanna's two support group meetings - however Oband is trying to increase their support they did have one support group meeting since I've been sleeved and were talking about having more. I can ask them if they will have another when I go in for 3 mos check up on the 20th. If there was more follow up and support with o band I'd recommend them again and again just on price alone but I definitely need the extra live in person support! An example if this is I was having sharp pains 2 mos out and called Oband but dr Lyass was not in and neither was his coordinator - the girl who answered the phone did not know when dr lyass would be back in and I didn't hear back from the coordinator on the message I left her and it was Friday so I went to the er close to my house since they have a bariatric center of excellence rating. As for the self pay question Dr Hanna and Oband both will take self pays as well. I had a friend that also did self pay with dr Hanna. Both My friends loves dr Hanna and since he is here in town all the time it isn't hard to make an appointment to see him at any time. With Oband u don't meet the surgeon dr lyass until the day of the surgery since he is from LA and then you see him again at your 1 week and 3 mos checkup. So I guess it just depends on how much follow up you want. If u just want low cost in and out Oband is the way to go!
  5. Yep I went thru Oband on April 13th. I am about 2 1/2 months out and can only eat about a 1/4 of a cup at this point.
  6. Dr Lyass did my surgery in Vegas too! I had no idea we could email him our questions- that would have helped out tremendously if I had been given that information.
  7. I have this same issue too with all dairy and whey based proteins. Immodium has become my life saver! Lactaid doesnt seem to help me either
  8. Thank you all for the great suggestions
  9. I am trying to treat myself for every 10 #s I lose (12-14 rewards rewardsin total) What are some low cost rewards some of you are using? Trying to keep big $ items for closer to goal? So far for first 30#s down I've gotten my hair cut, eyebrows threaded and hair dyed. Need to figure out what to do for 40 and beyond! What are your suggestions?
  10. I am about 2 1/2 months out and beef jerky is pretty much the only way I get in decent protein - I just make sure to drink more cause it's higher in sodium
  11. Thank you! I will look into myfitnesspal. I can't imagine being able to eat 800 calories a day - hoping as time goes by I can eat more as well!
  12. Hi everyone. Can you believe it's been 2 months? Down 45#s as of today. Still only able to eat about 2 ounces per sitting. Need some suggestions for meals. What do you all eat on any given day? Thank you!
  13. Just wondering if anyone has lost 100+ pounds and not needed plastics. I can't imagine being able to afford plastics but I also can't imagine my skin shrinking back into place. I guess we will see as I lose the weight .
  14. I was sleeved 4/13 and also have no appetite. I can't drink the protein shakes for some reason anymore either, they make me physically ill (and I've tried about 10 different ones recently). I am able to eat a selection of soft foods now, but worry without the protein shakes I'm not getting in enough protein or calories. Most day my water intake is about 60 ounces and I can only eat at the most 3 ounces per meal. I feel like the more water I take in the less I actually want to eat.
  15. I am glad to hear that even if I can't drink the protein there's a possibility it won't impact my loss or my nutrition/bloodwork.
  16. Thanks for the replies everyone! To answer some of the questions, I found lactose free yogurt but it was full of sugar so I didn't buy it. I haven't been able to find any of the lactose free cottage cheese so I don't know if I can tolerate it yet or not. Both stores I went to that the website showed would carry it were sold out. I did try a rice based Protein, but had the same affect on me as the lactose free and whey protein isolate ones I tried. Haven't seen anything labeled "dairy free" & I haven't tried pea or soy Proteins yet but I can always try and get a few samples of those and see if I can drink those with no digestive problems. I will also try to incorporate more alternative proteins like Beans and Peanut Butter for now. Right now I weigh out 3 ounces of food for each meal. Most of the time I can finish 3 ounces, sometimes a little less. Meal 1: 1 egg and a few teaspoons of beans Meal 2: chicken breast and a few teaspoons of applesauce or salsa Meal 3: Fish and a few green beans I just worried that this would not be enough calories or protein since I'm still at the point I can only eat about 3 ounces per serving. Doctors office recommends 3 Protein shakes per day and 3 4-ounce meals at this point. I am hoping that as my stomach continues to heal I can get in at least an ounce more protein per meal.
  17. I am hoping some of you can help me out - don't know if I should make an appoinment with the doctor or not... I am 3 weeks post op. Prior to surgery I was lactose intolerant but now it is so bad even taking the lactaid pills doesn't work. And now even "lactose free" and dairy free Protein shakes give me cramping and diarrhea. I've tried taking gas X and lactaid pills with the shakes with no help. I was able to start on soft foods, but only able to get down 2 maybe 2.5 oz at each meal. I worry that I am going to end up malnourished and dehydrated and don't know what to do at this point. If I'm only eating 2 ounces of protien 3 times a day I know that is no where near my recommonded protein intake. How long until my stomach should be healed enough that I can eat 4 ounces of protein. Should I call the doctor and explain my problem, or is this normal. Thanks for your help everyone!!!!
  18. Chia seeds will expand in your stomach and make u feel full according to the nutritionist I saw - she said to mix them in with food (nothing too wet) and once liquid hits them they will expand in your stomach making you feel full. Haven't tried it yet but a few people at the doctors office had and said they worked.
