  1. Looking for some sleeve buddies?
  2. I'm officially a May sleever...just barely though. May 30th is day 1 of a whole new world...I'm so very ready.
  3. Six days from receiving your clinicals?
  4. So of course I called again today and was told that my clinicals were received yesterday and it's 5 days from then before a decision would be made. Seems like everyone I talk to puts a different spin on this.
  5. Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully work is busy tomorrow so I won't think about it too much. I'll probably call again Friday.
  6. So my feathers are a little ruffled. I finished my last required visit on the 8th of this month. My ppwrk was just submitted to BCBS-Ca one week ago. I had my pre-op testing done yesterday. So I crossed my fingers and called the ins co today only to be told it's under review AND could take 30 days for approval. My surgery center only offers the pre op class on Tuesdays. I was praying to get in next week. I'm hoping that she's giving me a generic answer and it doesn't take that long. Ughhh :-(
  7. Funny you should say blast. She kept saying, "biggest breath you can and then BLAST it out."
  8. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I should have one by Thursday. I may call the insurance company tomorrow with my fingers crossed. The pft is a pulmonary function test which tests the strength of your lungs. There are different breathing excersises that are done. Your nose is pinched shut and there's a mouth piece hooked up to the computer and an oxygen tank. The tests are done in what looks like a phone booth.
  9. I'm not quite on the bench just yet. Although I have lost 20 pounds on the liver reduction diet. The tests went fine....except for the pft. That was thee worst. There was one of the 5 that I had to do THREE times before I got it right. Sheesh. And to top it all off, the nurse kept talking to me like she was a cartoon character.
  10. Hey all, I have my pre op tests this morning and I got a cold yesterday. I can't take anything for it right now because I can only have water (for the urine sample). The cold shouldn't adversly affect anything should it?
  11. I did find out that the sleeve is covered Yeah! My requirements were a three month program: 1 weight loss class, 1 nut visit, and a psych test. My surgeon also asked that I lose 20lbs. I've met all requirements as of yesterday. My paperwork will be submitted by the end of the week, and I should be hearing from the hospital to soon for my pre op tests. Those who have had the surgery, if you don't mind me asking, did you have to meet your deductible only or your out of pocket and deductible before the insurance kicked in?
  12. So I found out today from my surgeon 's pa that the sleeve is covered. Yeah! I'm just waiting to set up my pre op tests & final approval.
  13. Another BCBS Ca person? Where have you been all my life? Lol I have been dying to find someone. Ok, I just sent an email to my hr dept to veriy if the sleeve is included in our plan. I wasn't sure if the employer decided which wls to cover or the insurance company. So, how long after your approval did you schedule pre op tests and surgery?
  14. Thanks so much for the info! I too started wanting lap band, but after hearing and reading the huge number conplications and revisions chose the sleeve. I'm hoping it's covered, I don't really want to go the route of gastric bypass. I kinda like my intestines the way they are. I would love the codes when you get time.
  15. I have bcbs ca. Do most all bcbs plans cover the sleeve? Does anyone have the medical code for the sleeve procedure? I guess I just assumed it was covered, but now I'm getting a little nervous.
  16. Thanks for your help! I'm excited!
  17. Hey all! I have my final meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday. (I was on a three month plan) What can I expect at this meeting and what are some good questions to ask?
  18. Does anyone have Blue Cross Blue Shield out of Ca? If so, what were your requirements? Do you have to have a pcp? Also, how long did approval take?
  19. It's April 10th. I'm hoping for an early May sleeve date. I don't know if things will work that fast though.
  20. So today I completed my psych eval and made my final appointment to see the surgeon. Do I have to wait for my final appointment with the surgeon before getting my ekg and bloodwork?
  21. Good NEWS! I was cleared and able to make my final appointment with the surgeon. Now, should I go ahead and schedule a physical with my PCP to include the EKG and blood work that I know will need to be done or do I wait until I'm instructed to do so?
  22. Thanks so much for the info. I'm praying that I have the great experience that both of you did. I will report back. Thanks!
  23. Hey everyone! I have my psych eval tomorrow and I'm wondering if any of you have any tips for me. For some reason I'm a little nervous, and I don't really know why.
