I am wearing size 10/12 I weigh 180 I was thinking the same thing. I was holding up my size 10 pants and thinking how small they look and wondering how I got into them it amazes me. Maybe it has to do with body shape I am not big boned and only 5' 2 and a half. Can't figure it out

Thanks for responding, you have no idea how this is freaking me out..LOL I didn't think I would get into this sze for at least another 30lbs and here I am strutting my stuff all over work in my brand new sze 12s and feeling guilty cause I am still 194lbs and I know I shouldn't be wearing these yet. I guess I am just going to have to be thankful and go with it. Its just weird that inches go first before the lbs, but where are the lbs hanging out once the inches are gone.

I'm 4 1/2 months out from surgery and when I graduated from High School I was 235. I am down 83 lbs now and weighing in at 249. I tried on my senior prom dress last weekend and it's too big so YES!! Inches do come off quicker... Plus, our body shapes change over time. I know mine definitely has! I am also losing evenly which is good.. I have lost 10 inches on my bust, chest and hips for a total of 30 inches in just those 3 key areas!!!
    I am LOVIN my sleeve!!!!

I do believe we lose inches before pounds. I could not get a size 2x polo over my head just 3 month ago and now it not only goes over my head it loose (not baggy loose) and I thought it would take at least 4-6 months to even get it to fit let alone fit comfortably.
So that may be a good thing. I fitting into clothes I thought wouldn't happen til the end of the year or so

Isopure Zero Carb is the best I have found, the Dutch chocolate and Cookies and Cream are delicious and I don't have to add anything else to them except my Skim Plus milk. Two scoops give 50 grams of Protein, has zero carbs and with 2 cups of skim plus milk I have my full 72 grams of protein for the day. I get the Isopure online at "Supplementwarehouse.com" and I get a free shaker everytime I order and I usually get it delivered within 4 days. I have so many others and I just couldn't stomach them at all but this one is like drinking a regular shake.< /p>

Last week I received my surgery date, 8/28/12. I was a little bummed because I was hoping for it to be sooner... WELL, the coordinator just called and said there was an opening next week 8/14!
Luckily, I have been following the pre-op diet for a few weeks in hopes of this happening. I go tomorrow for my pre-op appointments and then I only have a week to wait.
I am so ready, so excited, and so grateful for this life changing opportunity that I just can't wait to get started.
Now excuse me while I get busy reading all of the great advice posted on this forum!

Please - take a few minutes every once in a while to update your stats. I see posts everyday from people celebrating their success tht have little or no information filled out in their profile.
When I see someone has a surgery date near mine, I look to see what their loss is - to make sure I am about the same as others. Or when I read a persons' comments I like to see how far along they are in their journey and how much they have lost. I think I would take comments from a successful 1 year VSG'er a bit more seriously than someone that has not had their surgery yet.
Also things like your height also helps to understand if a post is written by someone that has a body type like mine - or from someone that is coming from a different perspective.
It just takes a few minutes and helps all of us. It is nothing to be embarrassed about - not on this site. We are a very unique group and understand that you have for years hidden hard numbers about your weight. And for a lot of subjects, it doesn't matter. It does not matter what your starting weight was for a post about workout tunes. But for many posts it helps others understand you and helps us all as a group.
Is it just me? Or do others feel this way too?

I work for Workers Comp insurance as a case manager and I pay medical/hospital billing and the hospital can bill whatever they like but there is a fee schedule for every medical procedure there is and that is what they actually get paid they never get paid what they bill, in fact a self paying patient can demand that they pay as per Medicaid fee schedule and the hospital has to accept it.

My best friend of 15 years probably weighs 120 soaking wet. She's the kinda girl who can (and does) eat tons of fast food, pizza, and junk food and still looks amazing - she doesn't even work out! She tells me all the time that she thinks I'm beautiful, she doesn't think I'm that overweight, etc. even though I've gained 140+ pounds since we've been friends. She has been completely supportive throughout this whole thing because she has seen me struggle for so long, but has been very vocal that she is scared about me having the surgery, and even a little worried if I'll still be friends with her once I'm "skinny". I asked her if she was friends with me because I was fat or because of the amazing friendship we've created! Of course we've been friends since I was skinny and now I'm not, so that made her realize how ridiculous her statement sounded. Maybe your friend is just worried about how your new lifestyle will affect your relationship. She may not understand how you feel but maybe sitting down for a talk to explain your reasoning behind it and reassuring her a little will help. Good luck.

My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. Sure I miss not being able to eat as much as I used to, but that was the whole point of me being overweight. After 4 months since surgery I have gotten used to eating 3 to 4 bites and laying down the fork and I can't remember when I could go for second and third helpings. Its life changing and you have to get used to new habits but it is all for the Best!

I think this statement really sums it up. We all have to be happy where we are at the moment. We all made decisions to get healthier not watch the scale go down. Remember that it is just a tool. How you feel and look should be so much more important

Very well said LadyIvy! I can't say this enough, and yes I lost fast in comparison to some, but not nearly as fast as some others. Sure it got to me sometimes, but I always did my best to stay positive and remember that as long as I'm doing the right thing, the weight had no choice but to take an exit!
Keep up the excellent work for you AND your Hubby and son.

I say "Hoorray" for all of us. We are more than what we weigh. The weight will go when it goes but we still have to Love ourselves in every stage of our life (or size) or what will this whole journey be worth.

I love cooking shows! My husband calls it food porn Regardless, I get great ideas, then tweak them to be what I like. I will be the first to tell you I am NOT a foo foo cook (I love to watch it, but have you priced saffron threads??) Anyway - I don't even cook with raw onion or shallots - I use the ground up stuff from my spice cabinet....and no one has complained yet...and it simplifies my life....
So on with my latest and greatest!
    Preheat oven to 350
Spray your muffin tin - I have a 6 cup tin that works great for this - regular size muffins...
    In a bowl mix
1 small container ricotta (I used part skim)
1 small container cottage cheese (drain moisture off - I use paper towels, use a cheese cloth if you have one)
    half cup mozzerella
half cup of the REAL shredded parmesan - not the white powder out of a can (see - I can be a food snob!)
I package of minced spinach (I used the steam in a bag stuff from HEB, then SQUEEZED the heck out of it with paper towels!)
    1 large egg yolk
    some onion salt
    garlic powder
    Mix well
Spoon into muffin tin, top with some provolone (I love cheese! - can be mozzerella if you want)
Bake for about 35 minutes - watch you cheese on top - no burning!!
Let set for about 7 minutes and enjoy!
I am almost a month out of surgery and eat almost a full muffin tin - but not quite -
    So yummy!
I know someone smarter than me will plug it into your online doomahickie and tell me the Protein and calories...each portion is about 4 oz. I did have some mix left over.....my dog loved it too!
    Enjoy!

this post is amazing! THANK you!! Look at all your hard work and dedication and it has paid off! People please look at all of the sleeve studies. The most excess weight loss occurs by 18-24 months post op. Not everyone reaches goal in 6 months! If you look at the vertical sleeve gastrectomy studies all over the web--you will see what I'm talking about. Persistence and patience is key. It's a lifestyle change with the sleeve as a tool--so if it takes a little longer to come off, that's ok! Supersweetums, I applaud you! You stuck it out and never gave up. We can all learn a lot from you!!

I'm finally back in the 100's!!!!! As of this morning, I weighed in at 197. That is down 40 lbs since being sleeved on May 10th!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly feel so much better already. My lower back isn't constantly hurting and my heel pain is slowly getting better. I work on my feet all day (medical assistant) and I used to be in severe pain by 10am, but now I can make it through the whole work day without any! And I'm not super stiff when I first wake up. Not to mention, I was finally able to fit into size 16 jeans!!!! I'm absolutely loving the fact that I can wear (some) cute clothes now!
I still have a long road ahead, with about 70 lbs to go, but I'm celebrating today!!
