  5. I just attended my first lifestyle meeting. I recieved a packet with information about eating and exercising. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or recipies that were good for this dieting. I want to start loosing the weight now. I just dont know where to start. Tonight I ate my last meal out it was chinese I will not miss this misery I feel after I eat these foods. Any helpful tips to get me in the mood and get this ball rolling?

  7. Good luck ! Hope all gos smooth and I know its nerve racking to go for any kind of surgery and there isnt much that will calm you down until youv woke up and realize everything went as planned. Just try to keep your self doing things to keep your mind off of it, read books, magazines, talk to friends, plan ahead styles and looks you will be able to ware that you'v always liked and couldnt wear because they dont make them in our sizes !

  10. Man and cheese cake to thats rough ! Hopefully over time he gets used to your new life style ! As will mine once im there ! Keep up the good work !
  11. Hope everything goes well with your drs apt and they everything is smooth sailing from here. Just be cautious when you use the shower at home or even in hospitals I try to touch the walls and curtians as least as possiable because thats what causes staff infections. Also at home after both of my csections I went and purchased new shower curtians and sprayed down all the walls after each shower. I might of been a little over kill but I was so afraid of getting an infection. I also would let my scares air out like after each shower lay with the fan on and no clothes untill I was pretty dry.Hope all gos well !
  12. I was wondering what that would cost me because I am pretty sure my insurance isnt going to cover that. I can imagine that some men are with us like stated before because they know we are chubby and the chances of us leaving before were unlikely. I dont have self esteem issues like that tho I have an awesome personality and alot of men Iv dated before didnt even see my chubbieness. Well maybe he will adjust to it and quit giving you trouble about it. I know it will take time for my self to adjust to the new me let alone everyone around me. Im sure I will have people who are jealous of my sucess but Im not doing it for them Im doing it for myself and my children.
  13. Thats so amazing ! I think it would be easy to get my husband on board along with me because he used to diet every strictly. He has gained some weight since the kids along with me and I know he is concious about his belly. I am excited for everything to start rolling along. I have my first 6 month pre op visit next Thursday.

  15. You girls are both very beautiful I could see why they would start to worry. Maybe thats whats the matter with my husband he knows Im a pretty girl and once the lbs melt off everyone will see it even the jerks who didnt before. I would never leave my husband only if he kept me back from things that I wanted to do that I know are good for me. I am pretty sure he supports me in the journey he just got a bug up his ars when he said what he did. Im going for it full steam ahead. Im excited and you all are so awesome for replying to this post. It helps to know there are other people out there going through this process and at all diffrent stages. Keep up the awesome work it takes alot of courage!
  16. I know it wont be easy, I am not looking for the easy way out I honestly think that it would be the easy way out to try to diet and lose the weight vs this but I know my self that I want something that is permenet and going to change my life. With diet you know you can always revert back to your old ways with no consequences other then gaining the weight back. With this you have to watch it, it makes you concious of how much you were over eating before and you can become very sick from over eating. I think it takes a brave person to take this step. I was asahmed to admit for a while that I actully needed this surgery. I thought it was a cop out and that everyone should be able to diet and lose it the hard way. I realised after years of dieting and ups and downs that I kept getting larger and larger now I am at the heaviest I have ever been. I have two small children and I want to be healthy not only for my self but for them. I dont want them remembering thier mom as the mommy who sat around and kept them inside because it hurts to much for me to move. Congrats to you for being so brave and taking that step it really takes alot and I dont doubt for a min that I wont have days where its rough. I will always remeber my 29 years of weight that I have had to cary around and my arthritus in my knees and the gestational diabeties. Its totally worth the hard work to me. I hope over time things get better for you and you get into the groove of things it will take a while I am sure.
  17. Awe thats so sweet, who knows someday my husband may end up having one him self. Since we have had two children together he gained weight right along with me ! He used to be very buff and in shape. I was always large. That is awesome and congrats to the both of you ! Now you will both be happy and healthy!
  18. I had jokingly said that I am going to be one of those wives that does a reverse in my wedding photos instead of me being young and skinny in mine I would be young and chubby and then reverse over time and become skinny instead of like most who gein weight. I just have to think positive and not let this get me down. My aunt went through something like this but it was after her wls her husband and teenage son had starting making fun of her overweight self after she had lost her weight. It was something that hurt her very badly because she had learned the truth of what everyone was thinking. I guess in a way I would rather know the truth then to learn it later. I am glad for everyone mostly having supportive husbands. I showed him some of your before and after pictures and he was amazed that this isnt a joke this changes peoples life for the better.
  19. We were having a really stupid argument and we have had them before and he had never said anything like that before. It wasnt until reciently that he has known how important it was to me to get this surgery Iv been talking about it but once I had found out aht I had alot of health issues that were related to my weight did I really get seirous and start moving forward on the process. I dont know if he really wanted to hurt me or if he didnt think before he said it. This morning he woke me up before he left for work and told me he was very sorry and would never say something like that again and that he thinks I am sexy no matter what size I am. I will just beware and if it happens again weather its a comment of my weight or something else I wont stick around in a enviroment thats unhealthy for me and my children.
