  1. baby angel, i've lost 25 including the pre op diet. I've never gotten a shot to get numb, he cleans the area with a couple of sterile wipes and then poke and fill. Lol I have to agree with britneygirl about the pictures, it's big confidence booster to see the before and after shots every month. Sometimes you don't see it on the scale but you can feel it in your clothes, but the pictures really help. I even kept my big pants so I can really see how far I've come.
  2. Hello, doing really good. Just had my 2nd fill and still loosing! I now see Dr. Ravden in San Diego, since it's getting harder to drive up to Dr. Lee. Dr. Ravden is good also. The needle for the fill doesn't hurt you barely feel it. What hurts for me is when he's pushing on the port to feel for the center. It's literally a 10 sec process, it's the waiting for the doc to come in is what takes forever. Started exercising also... trying to train for my first 5k in February. It's almost around the time I got my surgery so it'll be a great accomplishment for my first year of lapband.
  3. Glad to know I wasn't the only one struggling with the Water intake. Thanks Cazzy for your reply, I didn't even think about the soft foods I've been eating having water in them. B-52 thanks for reply. It has helped shed some light into the future and how it's a matter of "listening" to the band and then understanding the "rules" that were given to me.
  4. Hello fellow LapBanders... It's been a month since I've been banded and I have been doing really well on my post op diet. Everything has stayed down, with the exception of the day after surgery. I'm real nervous about starting on solid foods and also getting my first fill on the 31st of this month. I'm so nervous I'm going to over eat and then get sick. I'm really glad I found this site and look forward to advise. The problem I seem to be facing right now is finding a way to drink enough fluids since we can't drink during meals. I know I'm not drinking the amount of Water I need to be.
  5. I know this is an old topic, but I had my surgery on 2/15 with Dr. Au. I also went thru 1-800-Get-Thin and Dr. Au has been super informative everytime I've seen him before, during & after surgery. I am just bummed he doesn't go to the San Diego office otherwise I'd keep him for all my fills, but Dr. Ravden at that office has been good too. But I'm glad I went thru this company they have been great!! Already down 10 lbs since the surgery and feeling great! Best to luck to everyone as we all go thru this journey together.
