Sounds like we have similar jobs and demands... I work as a quality control chemist at a pharmaceutical factory, and I took off for three weeks. I was a little tired at the end of the day but it want I big deal.

Getting sleeved in 3 hours!!! I'm at Portsmouth naval hospital in Virginia. I should be asleep but I'm so nervously excited!!!

Things are going well overall for me too--so far down 26 lbs, so I'm a quarter of the way to goal . there have been a couple of days where my tummy didn't feel quite right (threw up once I think from eating cream of wheat too fast), but they've passed in a day or so. Just started eating salmon over the weekend, and I can only get about an oz in before I feel full--so weird! Thanks for starting the check-in, hope the other 2/9-ers are doing well!

To be honest I was shocked at just how painful it was.
My nurses were very good at trying to keep it under control, but the 1st 2 days the only thing that helped even a little was walking.
I know when you are in a ton of pain you do not want to walk, but it really does help!
I was also very very weepy, which I did not expect.
I am on day 4 now and doing OK. Still doing lots of walking.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I too have only told a few people. Some are totally against it. I do not have advice on how your huband is taking it but I can say that you have to make this decision for yourself. People do not understand what we feel within our own skin. It has never been about being a size 5. I want this to be healthy. I am using my sleeve as a tool not as a total solution to my problem. I do feel it is a mind thing as well. For those of us whom are emotional eaters, we do have to take contol of past issues, current issues, and after getting sleeved, any issues that are to come. I plan to seek counseling to help with some of my issues. This is a huge life changing event for you. I too, have tried several diets. It is hard to stay on them. Pray about it. We will pray with and for you. And I pray that your husband will come around and understand why you are about to go through with this life changing event and how important it is to you. so im here waiting .. Im excited and nervous at the same time .. I have a great support group ..all my siblings, parents, and fiancé took the day off to be here for me.. And I have this wonderful site full of great people. Now I just cant wait to start this new journey =) ... Im praying for the best and ill talk u guys when I get out =)

Yayyyyyyyyy my surgery was approved!

~ I love seeing my collarbone when I look in the mirror
~ I love that I can run up the stairs at work without getting winded rather than slowly lumbering up them
~ I love seeing people who haven't seen me in a while and enjoying their puzzled looks
~ I LOVE buying clothes in the regular section of the store rather than the women's section - and realizing that XL shirts are too big!!

I have two that are huge to me.
I am 4 weeks out today
1) I can wear my wedding rings again! Yeahhhh and my husband is really happy about it.
2) I noticed I was crossing my legs in church this morning without any effort. I can not remember the last time I could do that. :)

I'm 13 days post op... The first 2 days were great! THEN the burning pain next to my belly button started after the morphine button was taken from me :-( I never dealt with much nausea.. The first 4 days or so it was a little unpleasant to drink! Every time I took a drink I would have air bubbles gurgle up my throat. It didn't hurt or anything but it was a little uncomfortable. I was constantly trying to find something to elevate the pain by my belly button! I'm on a two week clear liquid diet.. Not having food hasn't bothered me much surprisingly since I ate normal all the way to the evening before my surgery. I was a cash patient so it took 20 days from consult to surgery day... I didn't do any pre op diets! After day 6 or 7 my energy started coming back :-) I do take plenty of chewable vitamins during the day and the chewing experience makes my tummy kinda hurt :-( but I keep taking it all.. Days 8-13 haven't been that bad but I'm still only good for about 3-4 hours a day! I STILL have the burning pain next to my belly button but the few hours I'm being active I just wear an abdominal binder which really helps make walking bearable. So here I am on my last clear liquid day and I have lost 16 lbs so far but I do feel like I'm hungry these days and I don't think its acid because I'm taking my pills.. It's not completely unbearable so I just keep drinking the water! SO if anyone wants to know kind of what to expect the first 2 weeks, here's my experience!
Oh--- I have noticed through this whole process that every other commercial is about food lol maybe that's why I'm hungry :-) for the first time in my life I'm craving a Ruben sandwhich hahaha!

Me too! My surgery is March 8th!! Ahhh, I kinda feel like a chicken with its head cut off..my brain is still trying to understand that its so close LOL I am on a 2 week liquid diet before surgery..blah I will be happy when I can have real food. Or at least when I don't care about real food. LOL
