Surgery For Sleeve In Am!

Scheduled for sleeve surgery in a.m.! IT'S FINALLY HERE! I am excited yet anxious about the post-op pain. Hopefully it's not worse than childbirth w/no pain meds. Anybody else out there goin in tomorrow? I'm from Oklahoma - I need a buddy but they don't necessarily hafta be from Oklahoma. I have 77 lbs to lose for my goal weight of 135 lbs.

And can anybody tell me how to attach that ticker thing that shows ur weightloss timeline?

oh I will girl! I'm trying to figure out the iphone app so I can post from my hosp bed :)

To be honest I was shocked at just how painful it was.

My nurses were very good at trying to keep it under control, but the 1st 2 days the only thing that helped even a little was walking.

I know when you are in a ton of pain you do not want to walk, but it really does help!

I was also very very weepy, which I did not expect.

I am on day 4 now and doing OK. Still doing lots of walking.

Good Luck and remember it is totally worth it!

Am having mine done on Friday. It seems to be all happening so fast sort of. This liquid diet thing is a bummer, but oh we'll!!!!!! I have about 45 to lose. I am at 160 and have been this weight for nearly 3 years. I was banded in 07' and started at 227 got down to 129 and back up to 160. I Amos ready to lose all of this extra weight. Good luck to you all!!!

Going in on Tuesday 3/13, the wait was long for approval but the minute I got that date, days went fast!

Well.....I'm still alive & it wasn't near as bad as childbirth! No cakewalk, but not horrible. I just got back from my swallow studies & doc said everything looks great. Will be discharged today. I'm very sore in my abdomen, kinda feels like I did 1000 sits ups yesterday--that kinda sore. I waked around the halls twice last nt, & have been getting up and down to the bedside commode a million times. Worst part really is urinary retention, it's really hard to get started & then when I do pee its only like a medicine cup full at a time. But it's getting better. Supposed to be discharged today.

Im in Oklahoma and looking into getting sleeved.. Where did you have yours done and did you use insurance? Im probably going to have to self pay and im thinking about using weightwise in edmond.

If self pay I recommend Zapata or Garcia in Mexico. Zapata did my band!! My insurance approved me within 3 weeks thank the Lord. If not I was going to go to Garcia.

I live in Roland, which is on the ark/okla stateline. I had my sleeve in van buren, ark by dr Travis goodnight. My 2nd choice was weight wise in Edmond, and I hear they run specials occasionally for $9000. I am self pay, I tried the insurance route but I have no co-morbities.
