I love the fuzzy navel, but then again, I flavored mine with some additional items...I first took 1 bag of frozen raspberries and 1 bag of frozen strawberries, allowed them to thaw, and put them through a food processor. I strained out all the pulp and seeds, and then froze the juice into 2" silicone ice cube trays. the silicone makes them very easy to pop out.
For my Protein drink, I used one frozen 2" cube of raspberry-strawberry juice, a handful of regular ice cubes, 1 cup of Light and Fit vanilla Yogurt, 1 cup of soy milk, and a small packet ( 1-qt size drink mix) of Crystal Light in either Pomegranate-Cherry, or fruit Punch flavors (just the mix, no additional water). I put this through my smoothie blender, and have my taste buds dancing! It makes a lot, but with little sips, I'm satisfied for a hour or two. This helps to meet my hydration requirements of 64 oz a day, and puts a nice dent in my Protein requirements too. I ran this recipe by my Dr, & she had no problem with me having this Post-VSG surgery & I'm only 1 week out. Enjoy everyone! ????

I know the feeling. Hey, I was the walking land mass that would make buffet owners cry like babies when I walked in. Chinese? Two mountain plates plus dessert.
How do I cope now? Small dishes. When I make a can of Soup I pour most of it in a storage container and the small amount I can eat in my mini-bowl. I pay attention while I eat, watching TV can ruin concentration.
I try to have something planned right after I eat so I have a distraction from wanting to stuff. My sleeve will let me eat too much but slam me a couple of minutes later for it so I have to take my time and I have had to pick up on the subtle feeling that I am full before the uncomfortableness hits. A big, tough guy like me has to "get in touch with his feelings".
Wife and I were talking about how it was drilled in our head as kids to "clean up your plate". Something to do with kids somewhere who wouldn't starve if I ate it all. I never could figure out how my stuffing could make them feel better. Anyway, we decided wasting is good. So is take home bags.
I have found that if I make my 50-75 gram Protein shake in the morning and hit it off and on through the day I am less hungry. And LOTS of Water helps. You almost have to have one in your hand all the time. If I wake up during the night I get a couple sips from the bottle on my nightstand.
We did not take the "easy way to lose weight" as some numskulls accuse us of. This is hard work. But it IS effective and so worth it in renewed health and hotness!

I definitely had trouble! I am lucky, I am 4 weeks out and have a very forgiving sleeve, but I really really wanted to cheat. Some things that kept me sane, but were still mostly ok:
Greek yogurt the 2% kind (tastes like it has fat and is delicious, especially the Peach Fage flavor)
    Saltines with creamcheese
    mashed potatos
    Tomato Soup, the creamy kind.
Don't worry too much about calories right now. Just don't hurt yourself! That is most important.

Hello. My surgeon was Dr. David Kim and I had surgery at Forest Park Medical Center at Dallas, Texas. Dr. Kim is fantastic and made the experience so much better than it could have been. He is very experienced and has an extremely good bedside manner. The hospital was state of the art. I would highly recommend surgeon and hospital to anyone.

My father was very weepy after his heart surgery and the doctor indicated it was a very normal post surgical response. It will pass. And you know where we are if you need to get it out. Hugs!

T~ I used this site for all my support the first few weeks. I have a supportive family but I found that the people hear were easier to talk to because there was someone who felt everything I felt. I had a bit of an emotional recovery~no complications just emotional and moody. I knew it was the hormones being released from my body burning the stored fat. I had one (OK three) days when I told my husband that he forced me to have the surgery (SO NOT TRUE). I pouted and felt like my life would...well...suck and that with out food I would never have a good time again. I am now almost 5 months out and while I honestly find times it is inconvenient to eat different foods then my family I am not missing anything. I have way more fun now because I am not thinking about my big body fitting into little spaces or hiding behind my kids in pictures. Come here and post all of your thoughts and concerns and let us all help you through the rough time and then rejoice with you when you make it to the good times! And trust me they aren't far away!
    Blessings~
