Soups/full Liquids?
Slim fast premade drinks have 10 g of protein so I just picked some up and I'm gonna try drinking those! Why does all the protein have to be so gross?? I didn't think that it would be this impossible to follow the rules! I don't know how much water I drink but I would assume that keeping hydrated is the most important thing..

2 Week Post Op
Go see my dr tomorrow for my two week post op.. Unfortunately I don't see him being very happy! I can't drink my protein because it makes me want to vomit :-( I do drink plain ol water all day, that ought to count for something :-) but not 64 oz I'm sure! I never realized it would be this hard to stomach the taste of things afterwards.. I have lost 17 lbs so far but that's neither here nor there because I STILL have this horrid pain on my left side that refuses to leave me which probably is having a hard time healing because of my complete lack of nutrition! As long as I keep my abd. Binder on its bearable so I guess I will just wear it till the pain finally subsides...

Soups/full Liquids?
Capt I'm right in there with you! I probably drink 40 oz of water a day and I can't get myself to drink the protein either because every time I try it just wants to make me throw up! I have had the carnation instant breakfast and it's not too bad! I can't stand the taste of juices right now so I'm hanging in there basically with plain ol water and 1 carnation instant breakfast a day!

Soups/full Liquids?

Soups/full Liquids?
Thanks! I see so many people's stories that eat so much more than me! But I don't want to do anything too fast that might hurt my progress.. I guess I'm a little confused as to what all is considered full liquids lol :-)

Why are you worried about your liver being small enough?? I never heard of this before!

Soups/full Liquids?
I put skim milk in cream of broccoli soup till it was really thin and had maybe a whole spoon full of it, my stomach kinda hurts but it's the first time I have had food in it in 14 days.. Does this sound normal? Is soup a full liquid?

13 Days Post Op!
I'm 13 days post op... The first 2 days were great! THEN the burning pain next to my belly button started after the morphine button was taken from me :-( I never dealt with much nausea.. The first 4 days or so it was a little unpleasant to drink! Every time I took a drink I would have air bubbles gurgle up my throat. It didn't hurt or anything but it was a little uncomfortable. I was constantly trying to find something to elevate the pain by my belly button! I'm on a two week clear liquid diet.. Not having food hasn't bothered me much surprisingly since I ate normal all the way to the evening before my surgery. I was a cash patient so it took 20 days from consult to surgery day... I didn't do any pre op diets! After day 6 or 7 my energy started coming back :-) I do take plenty of chewable vitamins during the day and the chewing experience makes my tummy kinda hurt :-( but I keep taking it all.. Days 8-13 haven't been that bad but I'm still only good for about 3-4 hours a day! I STILL have the burning pain next to my belly button but the few hours I'm being active I just wear an abdominal binder which really helps make walking bearable. So here I am on my last clear liquid day and I have lost 16 lbs so far but I do feel like I'm hungry these days and I don't think its acid because I'm taking my pills.. It's not completely unbearable so I just keep drinking the water! SO if anyone wants to know kind of what to expect the first 2 weeks, here's my experience! Oh--- I have noticed through this whole process that every other commercial is about food lol maybe that's why I'm hungry :-) for the first time in my life I'm craving a Ruben sandwhich hahaha!

Please A Lil Help Here ! =)
Did your doctor not put you on a regimen?? You should have been educated on your post op diet previous to surgery! I can give you an idea of what mine is to help: Week 1-2 Clear Liquids like Water, crystal light, caffeine free tea, chicken or beef broth and 80g of Protein drink with low carb low calories made with water! Week 3-4 full liquids along with clear liquids. Full liquids include skim or 1% milk, sugar free carnation instant Breakfast. Now you can make your Protein Drink with milk! Week 4-6 semi-solid foods such as scrambled eggs, cream of wheat and oatmeal. Week 7-10 are really specific on what to introduce into your diet. Introduce only one food at a time and 2 tbsp to start with and never more than 1/2 cup total. You really need to give your sleeve time to heal and you need to give your brain time to retrain itself from the need of food food food all the time! I hope that helps a little :-) best of luck to you!!

One More Day!

4 Days Post Op
I am 11 days post op and I did that for the first like 7 to 8 days! The more warm drinks I consumed the easier it got and now at 11 days post op I can take a normal drink any temperature with no pain.. Also, sitting up straight when I drank made a HUGE difference! I'm just one week ahead of you so if you have any questions hit me up anytime, I can give you a week ahead view lol

Incision Pain
I have the same thing going on, I'm 11 days post op... Not looking forward to it lasting much longer :-( it really hurts! I wear a post surgery binder like they use for c section patients and it helps me get around with a lot less pain but then all my insides feel smushed after a while and I have to relax for a bit! I was hoping for a much quicker recovery but... What do you do? Just give it all the time it needs to heal because you can't undo it now lol

Burning Pain Next To Belly Button Post Op
OK thank you everyone for your responses, my next question is what methods did you use to control the pain so that you can handle getting around?

Burning Pain Next To Belly Button Post Op
Wheetsin, the pain is internal. All of the laparoscopic incision sights are glued closed and are healing wonderfully, I'm really thinking there probably will not be any scars afterwards. I have been taking progress pictures of my stomach healing, maybe I will post them one day when the healing is done. I have had NO external pain, no stomach pain really, just the pain at this sight next to my belly button. I never knew that they cut muscles and damaged nerves, it makes a lot of sense after hearing this I just wish the pain would subside already!! It's pretty painful :-(

Burning Pain Next To Belly Button Post Op
Thank you so much for your response, the hard part is not knowing how long it will last :-( I've realized that hydracodone and 2 Aleve really helps but only for a few hours!

Burning Pain Next To Belly Button Post Op
I am exactly one week post of and I STILL have this horrible burning pain to the left of my belly button. The doctor's office said it was where the camera went in and the skin above the spot is numb! Did anyone else have this happen and how long did it take for your pain to go away?
