  1. I use it all the time. Very versatile. I even make a pureed soup with the leftovers as you would butternut, its very good.
  2. 20# Fitbit 30# bike 45# Kickboxing heavy bag 60# Indoor rower 75# kayak 90# an outdoor adventure vacation Goal. A new wardrobe : )
  3. I'm going to play devils advocate here for a moment. Yes, my basic personality will be the same post wls, but I will be a different person. I want to do things I cant do now. I will have new hobbies, new interests, different priorities Someone who enjoys activity, may not find me attractive as an overweight person even if they like my personality. We would have little in common. But I become more attractive to that person when I am finally able to partake in what has now become common interests ie..hiking, working out, biking, going to the beach ect. Just another way to look at it. A person is not completely the same when you factor in physical ability and confidence.
  4. 3-28-13 TJ. Guess Ill get to watch y'alls progress before I go. : )
  5. You have made a wonderful accomplishment! I appreciate your post. Im preop, (3/2013 date) and I know I have an emotional relationship w/ food. While I look forward to the "breakup", change is always scary. But I hope to be where u are eventually and to feel a sense of reward and accomplishment in my health, appearance and new abilities. : ) thanks again and Congrats.
  6. Not that a challenge should be issued here as to WHY I switched surgeons, Im not the one attacking any particular surgeon. I think they are all good choices. I personally just didn't want to go through a third party or a business "tug of war", but there are "undercover " posts on the bariatric boards by coordinators. Coordinators did a bait and switch tactic when Dr. Kelly first broke away from them. Pressured clients into using their docs and even hacked Kellys email account which took him several days to fix.
  7. What's with the personal vendetta against Dr. Kelly? Again, I find it suspicious. Every person chooses a physician that THEY feel comfortable with. Be it Kelly, Garcia, Ponce...as long as WE are happy with our care and outcomes. I believe it is wrong to destroy a reputation with unsubstantiated claims. Its called defamation. I for one switched from Garcia to Kelly just because of such ridiculous tactics by coordinators. I felt as a healthcare professional that such board postings and rumors were unethical and I don't want to deal with such business people. For goodness sake! Every surgeon gets a fair share...its not like there aren't enough of us to go around lol. Many surgeons are doing 5+ surgerys a day..really??! If you have a PERSONAL experience good or bad by all means, its a public forum for information. But if you're just posting unproven, unsubstantiated rumor with no legitimate sources it is unappreciated and unwarranted. Good luck in the search for a doctor YOU are comfortable with.
  8. You look great! The dress looks wonderful on you!
  9. Don't know where u got your info, or how many of the US doctors you surveyed, but many don't use drains. My mom had her surgery Sept 25th in Virginia. Excellent surgeon, NO DRAIN, home same day on FULL liquid diet. Shes doing wonderfully. This sounds suspiciously like a undercover coordinator post with all the negative and unconfirmed info. Hmm.
  10. Beaitiful!! You look great!
  11. rdoactv replied to suepeeps's topic in Purée (stage 2)
Lol..wow. if that's your before pic, u might wanna have a talk with your surgeon. You've femmed up a bit. Grin
  12. Caryl..working your sleeve refers to getting back to a clean diet in correct portion...proteins, low carb/sugars, water..ect.Like u did in your weight loss phase.
  13. Bestpricenutrition.com offers an 11pack sample for 16.00. Both times I ordered they sent 14 samples though. They send fruity and nectar sweets samples. The sweets are yummy. Most are really good, the matrix too. I've only found a couple of the fruit ones I can cross off my list (pink grapefruit, apple was eh ok). I bought them for my mom too. She hates protein tastes..she has liked them. And loves Unjury chicken. Their chocolate and vanilla are good too.
  14. Just a couple of suggestions: I bought my mom an 11 sample pack of Syntrax (they sent 14) from bestpricenutrition.com 16.00, OH YEAH 5 pack sampler and syntrax matrix from mybariatricpantry (about 30.00 total) and she's loving the unjury chicken protein mixed in "better than boullion" and other broths. She is very picky and hates strong protein tastes. But she's doing good. 32gms plus since yesterday plus her fluids.
  15. Congrats on your success Tyron. I know I shouldn't be worried. I certainly won't eat what I can now.
  16. Thank you. This helped me put it into perspective a bit. Im just being paranoid I guess. My mom had hers done on Tuesday. She has a 34. Since my surgery is scheduled maybe Im just having that "buyer anxiety" and wondering if Im getting the "best deal" lol
  17. Thanks for the replies everyone. Im sure its just my own fear of it not working fast enough or permanently rearing its ugly head. Im way mentally prepped, Im very nutritionally educated. I know what to expect. I guess in my own overweight mind...smaller sounds better, because big is what got me where I am. : / thanks again.
  18. She did fine. She napped in recovery but otherwise you would have never known she had surgery. She was a little sore this AM, but this evening seemed fine. Glad to see others are home and recovering well. Good luck everyone.
  19. I know there are a few threads discussing this. I know there isn't a big difference in sizes between the most common 32,34,36 frenches. But I'm wondering if there is a difference in weight loss over time. It depends on so many factors. Starting weight, diet, activity. But I notice some people have much less restriction than others. 32s even seem too feel it with liquids, 36s are drinking fluids like its nothing. Im going to Dr. Kelly who uses a 36 which I'll be honest is my ONLY questioning factor in having him perform the surgery. I don't want to be 3 months out eating a cup of food while some are just reaching those amounts at 9 months. My fear of failure and regain probably putting doubts in place. : /
  20. Congrats! For taking control of your health and your quality of life You're very brave. I have told my most immediate family of my plans. Im headed to TJ in March 2013. After speaking of my decision, my mother decided to look into it. She beat me to it and was sleeved yesterday. So proud of her. Im still deciding who to tell or not as my siblings were never very forgiving of their heavier stepsister even as adults. Not sure if I'll let the fat outta the bag, or just show up skinny lol. Best wishes to you.
  21. My mom had surgery at 7AM and was on her way home by 2pm..full liquid diet, so protein right from the get go. Coffee ok, hydrate. The protocols are so varied.
